Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Carol Kuruvilla, Huffington Post: Days after an explosion rocked a Minnesota mosque, President Donald Trump has yet to publicly offer his support to the community. Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center, in Bloomington, was attacked early Saturday morning with what the FBI has called an "improvised explosive device." No one was hurt, although people were in the building at the time. The explosion shattered windows, damaged the imam's office and sent smoke throughout the center. Minnesota Gov. Mark Dayton (D) called the attack "an act of terrorism." Trump has tweeted about a number of things since Saturday. He's found time to brag about his strategy on North Korea, criticize the New York Times and other media outlets, and bully a Democratic senator. But he hasn't addressed the explosion in Minnesota.

He should be as loud as American Muslims are when their people attack everyone else, hence, the silence.

"He should be as loud as American Muslims are when their people attack everyone else, hence, the silence."

No, you are as usual full of crap. He should be loud with his response so the Muslims could realize that, in America, all religions are respected and defended. To do anything else is to invite Muslim terrorists to demonize America as the enemy of all Muslims.

#10 | Posted by danni at 2017-08-09 09:18 AM | Reply

They had a fire at a Mosque in Houston, the media foamed at the mouth trying to call the fire an Anti-Muslim attack- until the arsonist was located and he turned out to be a member of the Mosque. Wait to find out who the bomber is. Most real attacks on Mosques involve bacon, not bombs. Even the loony fringe on the right has dropped bombing as a tool of terror, it's just too Islamic. Another reason is it is about as successful to find the bomber as bank robbers. Law enforcement has about a 80% closer on bombings.

America's preferred form of terrorist attack is through its own military. The worst global error attack in my lifetime was the US invasion of Iraq-- and that was committed by a fundamentalist Christian. Only the Winston Smiths of the world will ever understand that.

Pres Trump is the President of all Americans.

If Pres Trump wanted to be a President who unites the Country, as he promised during his campaign, he would reach out and offer support to the community.

Unfortunately, this and other events have shown Pres Trump to be more concerned about maintaining the support of his base, and less concerned about uniting our Country.

"He should be as loud as American Muslims are when their people attack everyone else, hence, the silence."

The issue here is the attack on a place of worship in the United States, not the particulars of the religion.

Also you literally just said the President should act like a Muslim.

You literally just said the President should act like a Muslim who supports terrorism against inocent people because of religion.

I think the problem with you, Boaz, is you're trolling and don't even know it. You should have spent more time doing Connect The Dots as a child.

Ellison Calls on Trump to Condemn Minnesota Mosque Bombing
www.bloomberg.com

...Democratic National Committee deputy chairman and Minnesota Rep. Keith Ellison on Wednesday called it "an outrage" that President Donald Trump has not condemned the weekend bombing of a Minnesota mosque as a terrorist attack.

The explosion at Dar Al-Farooq Islamic Center in Bloomington happened early Saturday just before morning prayers and caused extensive damages to the imam's office but did not injure anyone. The FBI is investigating.

Ellison represents the Minneapolis area -- though not the site of the explosion -- and is the nation's first Muslim elected to Congress. He issued a statement through the national Democratic Party Wednesday joining the chorus of Muslim organizations and Democrats calling on Trump to label the bombing as a terrorist attack.

"The President's failure to condemn the terrorist attack on the Bloomington Islamic Center is an outrage. It suggests that his oath to protect and defend the Constitution of the United States, including the right to equal protection under the law, only extends to people who meet certain racial and religious criteria," Ellison said.

Ah yes, the racist's favorite deflection. And here I thought you were just one of the sympathizers.

Regardless of how you "feel", Jeff, there really were only 3 types of trump supporters; Racists, the gullible and fearful, and rich WASP Males looking for tax breaks.

The two types that aren't themselves racists are by definition racist sympathizers.

No one was hurt. And if we've learned anything about these so-called hate crimes, best to find out exactly what happened, else the president will be commenting on a guy who faked a crime.
