Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, August 09, 2017

Sen. Orrin Hatch is ready to move on from the Republican healthcare debacle. The Utah senator and chair of the Senate Finance Committee told Politico in a story published Monday that the GOP botched its chance at any repeal and replace of Obamacare for now. And he had a colorful way of saying it is time to move on to tax reform. "We're not going back to health care," Hatch told Politico. "We're in tax now. As far as I'm concerned, they shot their wad on health care and that's the way it is. I'm sick of it."

Yay!

And we ended our involvement in Syria, cut down illegal immigration thus raising wages, and I have it good authority that Zed is going to burn in hell for worshiping the Devil! All I need now is for us to tariff China and renegotiate NAFTA (Mexican farmers just held a big protest over NAFTA).

This is working out to be a much better presidency than a Hillary one would have been.

Maybe Trump can convince Congress to fund tax breaks with tariffs. That would be all I need to complete my smug sense of satisfaction.

Time is on the side of the Republicans unfortunately. Obamacare is falling apart. Good intentions are not a guarantee of success. When the dust settles maybe they can work on something that actually works. If you want health care treated as a right, expect the government to control it. In my experience, that is not necessarily a good thing.

It's Dan Abrams's site (formerly of ABC, NBC, MSNBC), so I doubt RCADE would have a problem with it, in terms of reporting the story of the lawsuit. It doesn't mean Abrams thinks the lawsuit has merit, and simply posting it on the Retort doesn't mean RCADE thinks so, either. It's just reporting that such a lawsuit has been filed - like all of those lawsuits against Clinton were reported - more vigorously by some outlets than others.

You have much too vivid an imagination, calling Trump a pedophile.

So Trump calling his own daughter "a piece of ass", admitting he sexually assaults women and that he walked into the dressing room with naked underage beauty pageant contestants to "inspect them" is not enough?

#22 | Posted by snoofy I never went to Vietnam, but plenty of other dung heaps on three different continents. My first military service was in 1974, about a year before Saigon fell. Every one wants to have a health system like France or England, but we could end up with a system like Cuba or Russia. BTW, as good as the Germans are about many things, their health care isn't that great. I had a friend who was almost killed by a surgeon who was too old to be doing the procedure he was doing and she ended up with an arterial bleed and a punctured lung. She was prohibited from leaving the country until she paid the medical bills. Nothing happened to the doctor, one can not sue a doctor in Germany for malpractice no mater how bad they are or how much damage they do. Most Germans are not that impressed with their health care. Why should you be?

There are only two genders isn't an opinion -- It is a verifiable false statement.

There are two sexes, sure. The problem isn't that you think liberals want to ban opinions, the problem is you think false proclamations constitute an opinion.

When Mississippi tried to pass a law to make pi = 3, it wasn't shut down because the liberal opinion was that pi = 3.14, it was shut down because by definition pi is not 3.

Often what the Right thinks is an opinion is described by rational persons as a delusion.
