A not-yet-released federal report on climate change finds that humans are already witnessing the effects of a warming globe -- and the report's authors are fearing that the White House will intervene before it's published.

The report was reviewed by scientists from 13 federal agencies and concludes that Americans are already feeling the effects of climate change.

"Evidence for a changing climate abounds, from the top of the atmosphere to the depths of the oceans," that draft report reads.

A White House official said it will "withhold comment on any draft report before its scheduled release date."

The average temperature in the United States has risen rapidly and drastically since 1980, with the most recent years being the warmest of the past 1,500 years, according to a previous draft of the special science section of the National Climate Assessment published by The New York Times Monday.

"They could hold back the report, they could in some way modify the conclusions -- it's a government report, technically they have the power. Whether they have the right is the question," he said. "The Global Change Research Act says there has to be a report but the timing isn't mandated in the law."

Ask Exxon. Their scientists predicted global warming before anyone. So they started funding the global warming deniers.

They should be brought up on RICO charges, or sued for everything they've got like Big Tobacco.

Bury it?

No.

If anything, this administration will release it and then claim it says exactly the opposite. PERIOD.

You mean the one with all the doctored data?

The Climate Changes with each season. Sometimes it gets hotter.

Same with raising oceans, happens every day at high tide.

When you get caught doctoring data. You cripple your thesis.

Unless you're a climate change denier. In that case it is completely ok and the other climate change deniers will support you 100%

The doctoring has obviously happened, and it's hard to argue it doesn't make skeptics.
i believe I've seen JPW allude to the above, and counter by saying the people that fudged things were tools and that the discoveries didn't amount to a hill of beans anyway.
He put it more scientifically than I did...

You're going to have cheaters in every walk of life, and they all have their motivations.

The Climate Changes with each season.

If you really think this then you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the topic that crippled your ability to comment intelligently on it.

Same with raising oceans, happens every day at high tide.

This is just dumb beyond words.

When you get caught doctoring data. You cripple your thesis.

They didn't "doctor" the data. Adjustments were made, often times referred to as corrections, to account for inaccuracies and inconsistencies between data sets and updated methodologies. All of which is published under peer review and is available for people like you to sift through and identify problems or methodological flaws.

You know, like how science is supposed to be done.

#6- Danni with doctored data there is no thesis, just people making unproven claims.

Scientific method and all that.

Climate Change in diplomatic circles is Social Climate Change. Nothing to do with Global Warming which was renamed Climate Change because Global Warming was proven incorrect.

Please, Australia admitted there stations would not record below -10c (I believe) when it was known to occur.

The corrections always go up, even for known historical events.

Garbage in garbage out.

Please, Australia admitted there stations would not record below -10c (I believe) when it was known to occur.

Please explain how transient temps beneath -10 degrees C in Australia would significantly throw off a value based on a five year average of global temperatures.

Because unless you can, you're just latching on to whatever is necessary to maintain your delusion.

Garbage in garbage out.

Kindly refer to the specific papers, lay out your issues with the methodology and how you would have proceeded or critiqued the authors.

You know, the scientific method and all that.

I don't need to do Jack, stop deflecting.

If you are the resident expert you know I'm telling the truth.

They are not transient temps, they were seasonal temps and historical temps going back decades.

Australia pulled their data out of embarrassment.

Garbage in Garbage out!

It's not a deflection to tell you how science works and that you're not doing it right.

If you are the resident expert you know I'm telling the truth.

My field isn't climate related but I do do science for a living.

And the "skeptics" aren't usually doing it right.

They are not transient temps, they were seasonal temps and historical temps going back decades.

Localized temp variations are only a part of calculating the global average, which is what is referred to in the case of climate change.

Yes, they sometimes refer to hottest months on record, but how would you think this would be affected by sensors that can't read below -10?

Garbage in Garbage out!

Reading your post history shows you to be an expert in this.

According to the WaPo, this is a fake news story.

For you to imply the Austalian data manipulation has no effect on total outcome is absurd.

Period. Math does not lie but liars can manipulate math by changing numbers...

For you to unequivocally state it's false against the weight of peer review is just idiotic.

You probably lack even a basic understanding of climate science, let alone enough to make the statements you're making.

But then again all your posts show you to be a dishonest tool so...
