Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, August 08, 2017

Some members of Congress are trying to criminalize support for the campaign to boycott, divest from, and sanction Israel for its occupation of Palestinian territories. The U.S.'s new premier left-wing organization, however, is moving the other way, undaunted by the threat of legislation against the BDS movement, as it is known. The Democratic Socialists of America, which gathered this weekend in Chicago for its biennial convention, passed a resolution on Saturday to endorse the BDS movement. The vote in favor was so overwhelming, with so few dissenters -- more than 90 percent supported the resolution -- that no formal tally was taken. It marked the first time in the group's 35-year history that it has taken a position on the issue.

"I expected it to pass, but it did surprise me how overwhelming the support was," said Rawan Tayoon, a Palestinian DSA activist from Los Angeles. Tayoon helped draft the resolution as part of a group that began its work in the spring.

Another drafter, Benjamin Balthaser, a Jewish Voice for Peace-Chicago member, who joined the DSA last year, said it was especially important for people from the Jewish community to make their voices heard on the Israeli-Palestinian conflict. "The Israeli government says it represents all Jews in the world," Balthaser, who is Jewish, told The Intercept. "And I think it's very important for the Jewish community to say, 'We don't feel represented by an apartheid government. We don't feel represented by a military occupation.'"

I guess these "socialists" don't care much about the Israeli kibbutz, a very democratic and socialistic form of organization.

The kibbutz is an awesome model, for hippies and dirtbags without any real skills.

But there's lots of them, so good to know there's a model to keep them busy, healthy, and out of the way.

If NULLI cant sign off on that, I believe I've completely lost him.

The Temple system is what is wrong in the US and must be removed.

That is what is driving the hatred of Trump.

#3 Now what are you ranting about? The Temple system? What the hell is that?

#4 | Posted by HeliumRat at 2017-08-07 10:41 PM | Reply

That is what is driving the hatred of Trump.

Who hates Trump? That's like hating Forrest Gump or Rainman.

Well there is always David Brock who wrote "Democracy Matters, Strategic Plan of Action."

Interesting if true.

Look it up.

#6 So you're just going to dance around the question?

#8 | Posted by HeliumRat at 2017-08-07 11:44 PM | Reply

Somebody toss me a bone here. Is Prolix talking about gays owning Hollywood or something?

#9 | Posted by HeliumRat at 2017-08-07 11:45 PM | Reply

Alright, so I looked up David Brock and he sells his soul to the highest bidder. Is that the Temple system?

#10 | Posted by HeliumRat at 2017-08-07 11:57 PM | Reply

#10 - nope. And you obviously know it.

What did David say?

What is "Democracy Matters?"

#11 | Posted by Prolix247 at 2017-08-08 12:02 AM | Reply

Wait, David Brock is gay?! So I was right.

From wiki:

"Brock was formerly the domestic partner of William Grey; their relationship ended in a bitter, three-year-long legal battle in which "Brock and Grey traded angry accusations, ... replete with charges of blackmail, theft and financial malfeasance"

So the Temple system really is about gays, isn't it?

Also, wiki says he started "Correct the Record". We had one of their trolls on this site for like five minutes before they left in hopeless disgust....

And "Democracy Matters" was an underhanded attack plan to impeach Trump. That was on the Washington Free Bacon. Mmmm, a newspaper named after delicious bacon....

I can't quite put my finger on it, but I get the feeling there is something your not telling me about this David Brock character....

The Chelsea Clinton news source known as the Daily Beast [Chelsea Clinton sits on the daily beast Board]

Is having poop storm over this, even claiming since DSA backs the boycott they must be racists even though they have Jewish members who back the boycott.

I don't think you will fine any credible source that will claim DSA as a racist organization

You should also note that the Daily Beast article I linked to in post 15
hinted strongly that BDS should be made illegal

We are watching Democracy Matters play out right before our eyes. Their end goal is impeachment through litigation supported by the media. It's a Soros group.

Also, denying Americans the right of assembly is part of the Temple system. This is AIPAC legislation.

BDS - Bernie Derangement Syndrome.

/Aw, what could've been...

I have always been mystified by the left's hatred of Israel. Truth is the Palestinians did not exist before 1969. They were citizens of Jordan and Egypt. Truth is, if the so called Palestinians wanted peace with Israel their would be peace. If Israel wanted war with the Palestinians, they would no longer exist. Israel is in the strongest position they have ever been in. Their neighbors are in ruins literally. The only thing that unites the left and the Muslims Arabs living in the "Occupied territories" is their common hatred of the Jew. Not that I don't see a lot of the same rhetoric from Alt-right sites. The whole unity with the Islamist and the Left is the most politically crazy thing I have ever seen. Islam would happily kill most of the left IAW Sharia.

Actually you idiot Bernie is against BDS, it would help if you knew what your talking about before you post.

this is one of the few things I disagree with Bernie Sanders.

though he would of made one of the best President this nation ever had if he won

#19, whether that's true or not, there is no justification for Israel stealing Palestinian farms, bulldozing their homes, destroying their hospitals, concrete and power plants, water and sewer systems and schools, shooting protesting teenagers in the knees then harvesting their organs, then throwing the body at the parents doorstep, then selling the organs in the USA through a NJ Mayor and Rabi, not to mention a military blockade which bars medicine food and building materials. Stupid Americans nod their heads when Netanyahu says Palestinians refuse to acknowledge their right to exist. What a load of vicious bunk.

#19- you have that reversed.

Eretz Israel was created by Benjamin Rothschild in order to legitimize the Ashkenazi by relieving them of the name Pharasee who were the money changers Jesus threw out of the Temple. The Pharasee lived in Palestine.

Jew is a modern Anglo term to describe all tribes from that region.

#22 | Posted by Prolix247 at 2017-08-08 09:41 PM | Reply

That should be Baron Edmond de Rothschild who created Erezt Israel.

#23 | Posted by Prolix247 I thought Israel was established by the Balfour Decoration during the time the British controlled the area after WWI.

#24 | Posted by docnjo at 2017-08-08 11:05 PM | Reply

Yes it was. That was after Rothschild had bought many acres of land in Palestine.

It was the foothold that lead to Balfour.

This is history.
