Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Mike Allen, Axios: Automated phone polling by the rising GOP public-affairs firm Firehouse Strategies, along with the data analytics team at Optimus, finds Trump's base shrinking among likely midterm voters in the key swing states of Florida, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania and Ohio (2,901 interviews). ... Partner Alex Conant tells me ... "Notably, much of that erosion is among Republicans: Strongly favorable views among GOP voters dropped from 54.1% to 44.9%, while unfavorable views increased from 20.5% to 27.9%."

Now there is a BS headline.

@#2 Now there is a BS headline.

While I didn't write the headline, I don't disagree with it.

I view a politician's "base" as those who "strongly approve" of the politician. To me, it is the "strongly approve" demographic that tends to stay by the candidate no matter what happens. Those who merely "approve" are far more likely to move elsewhere.

The article cites a nearly 10% drop in those who strongly approve of Pres Trump. That is quite significant and, I'd proffer, about 20% of his base that has left him (going from 54% to 45%).

Pres Trump probably has been seeing similar polling results, as lately he has been doing things that appeal directly, and somewhat only, to his base. Is Pres Trump trying to curtail the defections?

The 'strongly approves' crowd is avoiding the news. I make sure i give them a run-down on the most recent hate and corruption of the Thump administration, every chance I get.

They have even stopped watching Faux News, which partially explains their decline.

Donald J. Trump ✔ @realDonaldTrump
"The Trump base is far bigger & stronger than ever before (despite some phony Fake News polling). Look at rallies in Penn, Iowa, Ohio......."

Seems Kelly forgot to take Don's phone away from him during his vacation at his "goat farm".

We only have one viable party right now. Trump and the GOP will win again.

It will take at least one lifetime before people calm down about Hillary.

Pres Trump seems to care enough to tweet about it. ;)

But taking a step back, I find it ironic that Pres Trump who promised to fix the divisions within our Country has not yet even been able to fix the divisions within his own party. And now his base seems to be fading away.

Until further indication, Trump's election has been a loss for the whole country; including you whether you'd like to admit it or not.

Trump's support among his base is actually very high, because their IQs are very low.

These are people so stupid and gullible that no matter what he does they will support him. If bad news comes out about trump, he'll say it's a lie, and his base will believe him. This is why he's obsessed with attacking the press. He needs the morons to shut out any information source besides his twitter account and fox news. If he can keep them ignorant of reality, he can fill their heads with any lies he wants.

fabrication from beginning to end...

he's attacking the press because he ran on that, not for some darkened heart fantasy... info blocking mechanism coming from you, but in opposition to outlets like the ny times which was just caught in a complete LIE about a climate change memo leak.

The rest of your tirade is mere bigoted gibberish and doesn't deserve a comment.
