Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, July 18, 2017

The madams in the luxury gated community went to yoga classes and toddler playgroups; the maids soundlessly whisked away dirty dishes and soiled laundry before retreating, at night, to a nearby shantytown of tin sheds and plastic tents. This kind of arrangement has persisted across India for decades, in apparent harmony. But early on Wednesday, at the Mahagun Moderne in Noida, on the outskirts of New Delhi, India's capital, the madams and the maids went to war. A dispute between a maid and her employer erupted into a full-blown riot, as hundreds of the maid's neighbors, armed with rocks and iron rods, forced their way into the complex and stormed her employer's apartment. In response, thousands of families have locked their maids out, saying they can no longer trust them in their homes.

Yeah when I look back 12 years ago to when I decided to get diagnosed with MS dropped like a hot potato by my insurance company job lost and savings wiped out.

If only I had made the smarter choice to stay healthy and keep working my high paying job I could have my house paid off and be ready to retire by 50.

#17 Exactly. They don't know how lucky they are. To just chalk it up to choice and effort is blissful ignorance.

But that's ok, the God they claim to believe in will judge them according to how they have treated those less fortunate than themselves. Their arrogance and lack of compassion will not put them in good standing. He was hungry, and you did not give Him food, you told Him to "go fish".

Adrea for the win, too bad partisans won't understand and continue to view politics as a team sport. With capitalism the rich become powerful, with socialism the powerful become rich.

"The more the government gets involved the more income inequality there will be."

Horse manure. When we had the most government, during the New Deal, we slashed income inequality. Then along came Ronnie Raygun and the subsequent Republicans to bust unions, allow stock options as payment for executives, slash income taxes on the rich and income inequality headed for the stars. The common person has no advocate other than government to prevent runaway income inequality and now...wait for it....in Utah.....indentured servitude! Yay!

Wealth and income are not the same thing. The wealthy don't care so much about efforts to equalize income, they already own everything worth owning. Attacks on income are largely against the high producers of society.

Danni please take a coarse in economics before commenting on them you have to be the most clueless poster when it comes to money. I get it republicans bad democrats good your like a parrot

WTFIGO, if you think wealth is accumulated without income then you just prove how absolutely stupid you really are. While professionals earning large incomes pay 39% of their income in income taxes investors pay only 20%. Fair?

A lot of wealth is created without income.

Society? We actually have a society? Bull crap. We have an oligarchy through which the workers can't even get an increase in the minimum wage. The "maids" will be dragging the "madams" into the street sooner than you think.

"A lot of wealth is created without income."

So, capital gains is not income. Oh, that makes the two different forms of taxation ok. Bull crap. It's income. You can't create wealth without income, all income should be taxed the same exact way. Even Ronald Reagan agreed with me on that.

Yeah...because poverty most often results from a debilitating disease. I have a huge amount of admiration for Tao and regard him as the standard for success. And if he can succeed with the cards he was dealt, does anyone else really have an excuse?

"Danni please take a coarse in economics before commenting on them you have to be the most clueless poster when it comes to money."

What I've learned from being on this site for about the past 12 years or so is that progressives tend to regard economics in the same way that evangelicals regard natural history. It's something that Satan invented to test their faith.

I've actually seen people here regard Karl Marx as an economist...

As for the story...the Madam's can outlast the maids. In fact one Madams mentioned in the article had already purchased a new mop. And the woman who was attacked...she was a school teacher. A school teacher is also a fully qualified floor mopper. But I'm pretty sure the maid isn't qualified to teach school. She's likely not qualified to do more than simple housework.

Yes its fair Danni because the money used to create that wealth was already taxed. Class envy is an ugly thing

#12,
No, he's a man that realized the choices he was making was making him be poor. He obviously changed his situation.
When we as a nation decide that we cannot change our life choice situations on our own instead of taking the results of someone else's life choices, we are lost.

Likely because he had some level of support, no family to support, had a certain skilled set to parlay, and natural intelligence on his side.

Now for the large chunk of people without those gifts who are working hard in dead end jobs that pay next to nothing.... Not much you can do.

Seriously if he had been a single mother, he couldn't just work more.

You had better tell Wikipedia of their "error":

Karl Marx[6] (/mɑːrks/;[7] German: [ˈkaɐ̯l ˈmaɐ̯ks]; 5 May 1818 – 14 March 1883) was a Prussian-born philosopher, ECONOMIST, political theorist, sociologist, journalist, and revolutionary socialist.

You can't afford to have a child? You're too stupid to have a child? You don't want to have a child?

Abort!!!

Abortions should be mandatory!

Pro Abortion party all the way!

The Conservative obsession with abortion has always seemed counterproductive to me. If you outlaw abortion, all you do is create more people that are going to be reliant on government. More people who are likely to vote Democrat.

It seems like the roles should be reversed.
