Quin Hillyer, Pajamas Media: President Donald Trump must resign. The emails released on Tuesday by Donald Trump Jr. make it absolutely clear that Trump's son, son-in-law (and now top White House aide), and campaign manager attended a meeting under the express understanding (whether right or wrong) that it involved a lawyer supposedly representing the Kremlin's interest in swaying the American election. Read that again. The originally stated goal of the meeting was to help the Kremlin help the Trump campaign. This is not a matter of whether he personally did or did not commit a punishable crime. This is a matter of a president being hopelessly compromised because of his own longstanding and weird advocacy of Russian interests, in combination with this attempt at campaign collusion with the Putin gang -- and in combination with Trump firing an FBI director specifically (in Trump's own words) because Trump was upset with the director's conduct in the Russia probe.

I'm in a good mood today.

I thought the DR's Trump critics might enjoy reading this sentiment coming from a conservative writer on a conservative site.

Enjoy!

I'm not ready to throw Pres Trump into the maelstrom just yet.

That "Trump's son, son-in-law (and now top White House aide), and campaign manager attended a meeting under the express understanding (whether right or wrong) that it involved a lawyer supposedly representing the Kremlin's interest in swaying the American election" seems to be a strangely factual statement...

... so far Pres Trump appears to be above the fray.

I will admit, though, that it is becoming more and more difficult to maintain this opinion.

Questions swirling in my mind include: what did President Trump know and when did he know it?

Things that make you say, hmmm:

With sanctions and "information war," meddling in elections and referendums in the West, and disregarding or walking away from treaties and agreements, [the] economic, intelligence, propaganda and cyber confrontation by Russian definitions are already well established. According to the general in charge of Russia's NATO-facing Western Military District, Russia's new definition of war "is never declared, and never ends."

As always, it takes conservatives way too long to admit what liberals have been screaming for a long time.

Maybe listen to the smart people next time.

JeffJ's transition last November from Never Trump to Never Impeach Trump is a testament to his party over country sensibilities.

Read the comments below the article.

A pathetic display of trumpers whining that nothing is wrong with colluding with russia.

Sabotaging the election with our geopolitical foes who lock up the press, criminalize homosexuality, and assassinate opponents is worth it if it elects someone who will give tax cuts for the rich.

Trump Needs to Come Clean. Democrats Need to Be Careful.

The Donald Jr.-Russia revelations are a tipping point but not treason.

Eli Lake

As someone who has written columns pointing out that many claims against Trump and his advisers have been speculative and unsubstantiated, I see this supposed nothing burger as a tipping point. From now on, it strains credulity to give the president and his aides any benefit of the doubt when it comes to Russia. After all, a little more than a month after his June 9, 2016, meeting with Kremlin insider Natalia Veselnitskaya, the president's son was on CNN saying the entire Russia allegation was fake news. That line is no longer operative.

The best course now for the president would be full disclosure. He needs to tell us about any and all meetings his campaign and organization has had with Russians. If there was an offer of a heads-up on hacked e-mails -- or, as McClatchy is reporting, a plan to coordinate with Russian fake news bots to target voters through data operations -- he needs to acknowledge and apologize.

"The Donald Jr.-Russia revelations are a tipping point but not treason."

Couple of weeks ago they denied the meetings completely, now that lie is completely shown to be false. I think this is going to go deeper than the Trump defenders expect and it will end up revealing treason and, like Nixon, he will resign and take his f*****g family with him. The very idea of his kids have such important positions was absolutely a revelation of a belief, in Trump, that he thought he could develop a Trump Royalty in this country.

Same thing when Shepard Smith, Chris Wallace, Neil Cavuto, and Charles Krauthammer have spoken out against Trump.

The conclusion is all-important, not the truth. It's a cult.

Speaking of things that will never happen.
