Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Wednesday, July 12, 2017

Joe Scarborough, host of MSNBC's Morning Joe, announced on CBS' "The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" Tuesday night that he is leaving the Republican Party to become an independent. The interview came after President Trump unleashed a series of tweets last month insulting Scarborough and Brzezinski. Scarborough was critical of Trump and Republicans long before the insults. After Trump fired FBI Director James Comey, for instance, he told Republicans to "stand the hell up" and do something. Scarborough took to Twitter Tuesday night to express his frustration with the GOP. "It's a shame there are so few Republicans speaking truth to power," he tweeted.

It's amazing what can be achieved when a republican "with principles" is exposed to facts and objective reasoning. It helps that his livelihood is no longer dependent upon towing the party line.

This morning he went on a Hillary Clinton bashing rant claiming that the Russian connection to Trump, though he admits is real, had nothing to do with the outcome of the election. Three months ago guys like him were calling the whole thing a conspiracy theory, how in the hell can anyone know right now what the affects of the Russian involvement really was or was not? Add to that all the voter suppression techniques, etc. and I suspect there is a valid case of a stolen election. We have an illigitimate President right now.

Sure it is, you dim bulb. Now he's just towing the other party's line now. It's hard as hell to make a living on MSNBC unless you do.

Joe's just among the first of rats jumping ship. Smart man. Should leave other people's wives alone, though.

Morning Joe did just fine all the years it's been on and Joe was still a Republican. Trump has changed the Republican Party in ways that even many Republicans just can't stomach. The one thing that bothers me though is how did they not see this coming. Trump has been a public figure for a long time and a bombastic a*****e the entire time, why did they ever think he should be made President? Anyone who voted for this pompous ass deserves to lose their right to vote for several election cycles. And that would include Joe Scarborough.

Because the other choice was that collapsing sea cow, Hillary.

Says the hysterical woman that carried Hugo Chavez's water for so many years. Please do shut up about poor decisions, as your posts usually end up as such.

The day is coming soon when even a fool like you won't be able to think that nonsense, we have more sanctions against Russia being discussed in Congress which will soon come to a vote and they will pass. Will Putin's Bitch sign them without permission from Vlad? I suspect that at some point even right wing people like you will have to find your patriotism, I can't believe even you would accept a President so totally controlled by Putin.

Joe Scarborough has forgotten something he once knew only too well. Namely that the primary reason any politician sucks up to his/her political is for financial support and to be able to keep winning elections. It is not for reasons of Truth or Intellectual Honesty. Responsibilities and obligations as a journalist are very different from those as a politician.

"Better shore up the base of total morons by pretending to be religious!"

Obama did a much better job at "Pretending to be religious,"* than Trump 's recent "born again" moments.

*I for one, believed that Obama was sincerely Christian, but some ReTorters seemed to believe that O was an atheist playing pretend.

Not me. He attended Wright's church for over 20 years. To me, that's plenty of evidence that he's sincerely Christian.
