Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, July 11, 2017

Alexandra Petri, Washington Post: When Donald Trump said he might not accept the results of the election, we should have believed him. Now here we are, eight thousand years into his presidency, and he is still telling us about what an awful job Hillary Clinton is doing. (Do you want to break the news to him, or shall I?) Why, Donald Trump wonders, are we wasting all this time looking into the election of Donald Trump, a man who did not even win a majority of the popular vote, when Hillary Clinton is there, amassing scandal after scandal, safe from her perch in the Oval Office? Everything that Donald Trump does makes sense when you know that Hillary Clinton is president. He has plenty of time on his hands since he does not have to lead.

He can tweet and put his head together with Sean Hannity's head and study controversies. This is also why Donald Trump has been suggesting such strange things when it comes to policy. Who cares? What impact can it possibly have?

This is why he is always yelling about Fake News. The Fake News media have contumaciously persisted in their failure to notice that in spite of Donald Trump's best efforts to stop her, Hillary Clinton is still in charge, and everything that is wrong in the country is the result of something she has done.

Why won't they admit this simple fact? Fox & Friends will, thankfully. But Fox & Friends alone is not enough.

Thank heavens that Donald Trump is still there to keep tabs on her. He even went to the G-20 summit, where EVERYONE was discussing the fact that John Podesta refused to give the DNC server to the FBI and the CIA. I mean EVERYONE. Everyone!

"His son is helping, too, eagerly meeting with anyone and everyone who said they might have damaging information about Hillary Clinton. Good! She must be stopped.

Donald Trump won the electoral college, was inaugurated, appointed a cabinet (somewhat) and yet -- she is still inexplicably president, still running the country, and everything wrong is still her doing. How can we bear to let this go on?

With luck, he will bring down this administration."

She didn't win the only election that counted. The Electoral College. All the rest doesn't mean squat.

It means a hell of a lot more than "squat" in terms of perception.

Ask Trump, who can't stop blathering on about it,

Poor deluded Corky still doesn't understand. Doc is just Doc, and the expectations were already low to begin with.

Poor deluded Corky still doesn't understand.

You, Sniper and Laura thought a column that included this phrase was serious:

"Donald Trump won the electoral college, was inaugurated, appointed a cabinet (somewhat) and yet -- she is still inexplicably president, still running the country, and everything wrong is still her doing."

Try not to bite the hand that feeds you news as quickly news time.

I'm still hoping the "He will rot in jail," crowd was right from a few short months ago. With Republicans, you never know, they are inherently immoral, and now it appears that they are also traitors.

Hillary Won the Election
Lol, this type of dialog makes me feel horrible for that poor horse named Hillary, which we all continue to beat, mercilessly.

Here's a numerical fact:
Total Votes Michigan, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania:

Trump: 6.65m
Bush: 6.58m
Clinton: 6.57m
Romney: 6.10m

Swing-state populism is not "Russian"

An allegation is the Russians had information useful in directing Donald where to campaign.

Regardless, the legitimacy of Trump's presidency is in question. It would help us all if his wretched behavior didn't underscore that fact.

This article went right over all the r-winger's heads. The point is that TRUMP and REPUBLICANS are obsessed about Hillary. She didn't win the election. SO WHY ARE YOU STILL TALKING ABOUT HER???

Republicans ONLY know how to be an opposition party. They have NO IDEA how to govern. They are looking wistfully back at the days when they thought Hillary would win and they thought the adults (Democrats) would still be in charge.

Look at Healthcare. They sent a repeal bill to Obama's desk that he had to veto. But, now that they have a Republican in the White House (and have a majority in both houses of Congress) they can't seem to pass anything. Why? Because before they knew with a Democrat in the White House that he would be the adult and do the right thing. So the Republicans could be petulant children and pass useless bills to make their idiot base think that they were actually doing something without worrying about having to deal with the fallout of it ACTUALLY becoming law.

Now they have a petulant child in the White House (who represents their party) and KNOW he would burn down the country for personal gain in a heartbeat. They know that they now have to be the adults because no one else is in a position to be, but they don't know how to do it.

Your numerical fact makes no sense? You showed 4 totals. From what - 3 elections? It's like you pulled some numbers out of your nether region and posted them. For instance I can only assume you meant Hillary Clinton, Bush should be there twice, I don't see Obama on the list at all and not to mention McCain, Kerry or Gore. I don't see years listed either.

Bottom line is the bottom feeders I know all sucked in the fake news on Clinton like mad. Nothing bad about Trump even penetrated their skulls though. It was weird.

Don't forget Michigan for example had 8 straight years of dropping population. Young and white are the categories most affected in drops. While the 65 and over group is booming though - growing FAST. They are up almost 3% points over the last decade.

Just to continue a thought - the Midwest in general is seeing a drain on the young. Colleges are all downsizing because of it right now. School districts too. The fact is once the baby boomers die off the Midwest will be relatively empty. In the meantime it will become a GOP dominated area.

I think you will see an end to the electoral college sooner rather than later. The National Popular Vote initiative is picking up steam. The reason for all this is the winner take all mentality of electoral college state by state. Why campaign in Cali if you are Republican or Texas if you are a Democrat? It is picking up steam again and in conservative states...

All that matters is they get to a majority of the electoral college votes. The rest of the states have no say at that point. They are committing to voting for the winner of the "national popular vote" which I know so many keep saying doesn't exist.

"I think you will see an end to the electoral college sooner rather than later. The National Popular Vote initiative is picking up steam. "

Never going to happen. For a constitutional amendment to pass, nine states would have to voluntarily cede power they currently hold.

In addition, a close national election would unleash 10,000 "Floridas", since victory might be found in any precinct in the country. You'd also be incentivizing voter fraud, as now it's worthless, especially in states like WY or MA, where the outcome is a foregone conclusion.

It's been in play for years already. It has recently passed some legislatures by big margins in conservative states. Not sure where you get 9 states... It takes states with enough electoral votes to top 270. Whether that is 5 or 20 additional states.

I think you are not exactly being fair about the 10,000 Floridas. It would take a very close election to trigger that. But if it is the case so be it. There hasn't been one that was that close yet - not saying it couldn't happen, just that there hasn't been one. But there have been elections that were stolen.

It's classic misdirection and it gets lefties panties in a bunch. He did promise to 'lock her up'. Since ACA repeal is failing, maybe this is at least one campaign 'promise' (more of a slogan) that can be kept. Maybe they can combine promises and have Mexico pay for the prosecution.

No he won't. I mean, he might be pardoned for his federal crimes, but no governor of New York is going to pardon him for his state crimes, and no President can. He's going to prison, and he's going to be perp-walked for the cameras in NYC.
