Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

China has definitely taken the lead globally in its effort to mitigate the effects of climate change, just recently beginning construction of the first of eight large-scale carbon capture and storage projects. Just two weeks ago, Digital Journal featured the world's first commercial carbon capture and storage (CCS) plant opened in Zurich, Switzerland with the goal of selling compressed CO2 gas to industry, basically re-purposing the gas. China's first CCS project was started by state-owned Yanchang Petroleum, reports AFR Weekend. The facility will capture CO2 emissions from a coal-to-gas petrochemical plant near the western Chinese city of Xi'an. Once it is operational, the plant will capture 800,000 tons of CO2 annually, or the equivalent of taking 80,000 cars off the highway for a year.

RAPID expansion of green energy with Yuuuuguh investments in it (dwarfing US investments). Capturing Coal CO2 for the present... I'm thinking even the Chinese don't see a future for coal. Wake up Trump. Wake up coal folks.

Get real folks this administration and the GOP are making us a true laggard in green tech. We are rapidly becoming a has been power.

So if they are going to sell this gas to coke to add to sodas how is this gong to do anything?

We still have not proven CO2 actually does anything its clearly not causing any warming effect and studies show its not building up at high altitudes. And satellites show its higher in the non populated Forrest areas.

Sounds like china is going to start selling Co2...

China is taking the lead everywhere thanks to the GOP's lead in science, education, climate and economy.

Unless you listen to scientists or read any studies.

Do your experiments in atmospheric chemistry on your own planet, this one is ours.

Are you referring to the experiment of dumping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere for centuries?

The USA already has a massive carbon storage scheme underway that Trump can take credit for and be the poster boy.
The average American is about 50 lbs overweight. Fat is 84 percent co2 when burned. 300 million times 50 is over 5 million tons of co2.
Eat like a pig to save the planet.

Are you referring to the experiment of dumping greenhouse gases into the atmosphere for centuries? Yes, though at this point I think the damage has been done and we're fooling ourselves. Like hitting the brakes after the car has gone over the cliff.

This planet belongs to ALL of us.

Not just to the people with power and wealth trying to rape the land and control all the resources.

Do your experiments in allowing the unregulated dumping of pollution into our water and air on your own planet.
