Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Sunday, June 18, 2017

Chris Cillizza, CNN: Donald Trump has, throughout his life, had one setting when it comes to stories he doesn't like: Attack, pivot, declare victory. From his rise in Manhattan social circles to his career as a real estate developer to his time as a reality TV star, he's always employed these same basic tactics. ... It's worked remarkably well for Trump. And so it shouldn't be all that surprising that he's brought that blueprint to Washington with him. Except that the White House -- and the political and legal worlds it touches -- isn't the same thing that Trump is used to facing. Not at all. The rules governing this world aren't the rules of the tabloids of New York City media. Bob Mueller isn't some Page Six reporter.

Trump doesn't seem to have even the slightest understanding of that distinction. ...

But this investigation isn't anything like what Trump has faced before. He can't simply say this is all a "witch hunt" or a "hoax" and have it disappear. Short of firing Mueller, which seems to me incredibly unlikely -- particularly after the leak of the obstruction investigation -- Trump can't stop it. The investigation will proceed no matter what Trump says about it or who involved in it he calls names.

Yeah, but Trump reminds me of Custer in that Little Big Man scene.

Corky, you remind me of Little Horse from the same movie :

"You look tired Little Big Man. Would you like to come in my teepee and rest on soft furs? Come and live with me and I'll be your wife!"

Speaking of the Special Prosecutor though, he's not so dumb....

Special counsel is investigating Jared Kushner's business dealings"

Trump is the proverbial bull in a China shop.
In addition to being a shlub of mind boggling proportions.

Actually the penultimate schlubs are the shi* heads in the media that fawn all over this BS. And they get it wrong MANY ---- times.

Difference between Nixon and Trump? Nixon knew exactly what he was doing and Trump is clueless.

Trump has not committed obstruction, Lynch did on the Clinton's.
Trump is now the President, he does not have to BLUSTER!
I want him to fire them all.

Sick Donald J Trump cannot help himself. Thank God for a nation with laws against a self-serving presidency. This is the snare that will The Donald's undoing. First, the Trump Russia pre-election collaboration; Then the Twitter confessions evidencing obstruction of justice; Next, scandals abound around @Special Advisor" Jared Kushner & AG Sessions.

Soon, Trump Properties' undisclosed real estate sales to secret buyers masked as LLCs are the likely next scandal.

After that, Trump's profiteering from his hotels and golf resorts will emerge as non-compliant with ethics rules and the emoluments clause.

And who knows how the Trump family can screw things up? Ivanka? Selling her fashion line from her "office" in the White House? Using Secret Service as her private limo and butler service?

Of course, tthere's the Hatch Act. Hasn't "The Donald" (and his staff, too, for that matter) already violated that during the campaign for the Georgia House contest?

Seems that DJT has plenty of snares around him and his reckless impatience, his ignorance of the law, and unrivaled hubris is bound to step into most of them.

Those snares are bound to prove that the great insulter in chief was incompetent for the responsibility.

Trump does not have to "Bluster" his way past the special prosecutor. Special Prosecutor was appointed by Trump. He can just fire the man. Wish he would. We don't need another witch hunt like that phoney thing over Valory Plame that netted one guy on a process charge after what, two years? When the prosecutor knew who leaked her name after the first two weeks.

I wish he would, too. More wood to the fire that's burning him.

If it's a witch hunt then Donald's safe, right? Being male, he's te4cnically a warlock.

Your ignorance is showing. Trump did not hire the special prosecutor. He works for the DOJ. So only the DOJ can fire him.

Trump can only order him to be fired.

And I wish he would try and do that, too.

I am enjoying him seeing his blunders backfire and blow up in his face as he tries to De-Construct America.

I wish I could fire the Teajadist posters in this thread for their overall stupidity.

At some point the Trump administration will implode under the weight of Trump's ignorance, nepotism, greed, hubris, narcissism and lack of ethics. His spoiled brats family partners won't help. Seems that DJT's 2016 "victory" will be pyrrhic. His self-sabotaged presidency could end in a completely crushing and humilating downfall for all things Trump.

(My question: who benefits most from a Trump administration ethics implosion? The neocons? The Koch brothers? Pence's theocrat acolytes? The Bush Cheney axis of the GOP? Seems like a lot of Repubs are backing away from Trump. Sure, Trump won't listen to anyone, but would a Trump administration train wreck be good for America and for the US Constitution?)

But, none of that is happening. Where do you get your news? Comedy Central?

All joking aside, how can you see the obstruction (and payback for Bill Clinton's impeachment) from the Democrats and the MSM as a Trump blunder?

I think it's a disgrace that we are allowing this to happen and Putin is just sitting back watching and laughing at us destroy ourselves. Do you think that the Republicans would have given Hilary the same treatment if she would have won?

Ok, who let him out of the psych ward? Seriously, you know how confused he gets. Someone get him his meds and put him back in his jacket with the extra long sleeves.

Buy Ivanka! Golf Trump! Viva Las Vegas! Ski Sochi! Eat at Mama Berlusconi's.

There's nothing shady in the world occupied by an Atlantic City, Russian and Chinese and Saudi real estate mogul. Bonnano and Gallo associates aside. So, what the hay? Let's follow our leader for we are very blessed to have a band of merry billionaires serving his orangeness and his unprecedented to make billionaires in America great again.

About the diverters who want to replay the Hilary card over and over again. Give it up!!

That story is old news and done. It's now time for Orange Mogul to lead and sit in his own hot seat. Too hot for a temperamental thin-skinned narcissist? Well what goes around comes around. Sit and fry, and learn how to play by the rules. Reveal your taxes your blessed leadership and divest yourself of economic conflicts of interest -- or get out of the hot seat and let VP Pence run the country.
