Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, June 15, 2017

Wednesday's shooting in Virginia that appeared to target Republican lawmakers highlights a trend that terrorism experts have been monitoring in recent months: the ramping up of violence committed by the left.

"This is something we're very concerned about," said Brian Levin, director of the Center for the Study of Hate and Extremism at California State University-San Bernardino. "The violence is not indigenous to just one side of the political spectrum. While other entities are farther along, this emergent hard left has coalesced.

"And we can't just ignore it."

Well, America has been killing people around the globe pretty consistently for the past 75 years, that sort of predilection to use violence to solve political problems is bound to rub off and normalize itself in the minds of many of people back home, including the left-- after all, they read the same news and media reports that everyone else does.

I would call this part of the blowback from 9-11, although it also has its roots in the murder and death dealing of the Vietnam War and the constant military interventionism that has been a hallmark of this country during the above stated time frame.

The military industrial complex has become miniaturized and institutionalized in the minds of many an politically conscious American citizen.

Actually, this is no more than the law of physics asserting itself.

For instance, let's consider the left-right political spectrum as a see-saw.

A person sits just the left of the fulcrum. In order to counteract that, a person must sit at relatively the same distance away from the fulcrum in the left side. They are considered moderates-- in fact, they are close enough to the center to actually hold hands.

The further one goes to the outer edge of the platform of the see-saw-- in other words, the further RIGHT one goes, the further left the other person must go.

So the rise in extremist rhetoric on the right invariably causes a rise in extremist rehetoric on the right.

Trump is an extremist, plain and simple. There is nothing about him that is moderate. It is the laws of Physics that dictate an inevitable rise in extremist counteraction from the other side.

Also, if someone jumps off the see-saw, the person sitting at its furthest point will feel the most pain in his ass as he hits the ground, at which point weapons are drawn, trenches are dug and the playground ceases to be a place of enjoyment and become just another war zone.

That should be left and right, not right and right. Don't smoke hay at 10 AM in the morning.

This has been coming for a long time and it will only get worse. This is systemic in our nation and unless the conditions in America are changed it won't stop. When the people feel that their lives are being destroyed by oligarchs they less than clear minded will use it as an excuse to murder.

#6 | Posted by 726 at 2017-06-15 11:12 AM | Reply

Politically motivated violence is an interesting problem.

On the one hand, with the way this country is headed the probability that bringing out the torches and pitchforks will be necessary seems to be increasing every day. Ignoring the takeover of our government by interests that want to turn the US into a third world oligarchy would be a disaster. Hopefully a reversal can be accoplished via the democratic process but that seems increasingly unlikely due to the corrupting influence of cash, which is now "speech" for some reason.

On the other hand, the people most likely to act are crazy ideologues. Once you affirm that politically motivated violence is OK, how can you explain to the extremist nutjobs that it doesn't apply to them? And who decides who is the nutjob and who is the patriot?

These folks should be rounded up and reeducated/reformed in order to prevent future acts of leftwing domestic terrorism.

Right wing domestic terrorists shall succumb to the same fate as leftwingers. Reeducation and reform, or put both groups on an island to fight it out on PPV.

Someone should ask Rand why Republicans have become so tyrannical as of late.

Yeah...the right wing terrorists are still a bigger threat. Simply because the radical left lost that skillset once the Soviet Union dissolved, becoming the "drunkle" for progressive communities worldwide. The most dangerous progressives reside in the Black Block/Antifa movement...but as we've seen, they've been getting they're teeth kicked in by Trumpsters in recent months. It's probably a good reality check for them.

"The most dangerous progressives reside in the Black Block/Antifa movement."

For humans, not so much.

So I guess you must be a Starbucks window then.

Or possibly the hood of a police car.

Stay safe!

Obviously this headline was not written by an adherent of the modern-day Second Amendment mythology, or it would read:

"Reassuring rise in the fight against our tyrranical government oppressors."

has the NRA made it clear to the surviving wounded Republicans not to discuss the terrorist's hi-cap mag?

Those black-masked Republicans at Berkeley are the cause of all this.

The left has lost its mind they are not the anti violent peace at all costs people. They believe in only their views and if you think different then them you deserve whats coming to you. It is just like Stalin's Russia if you were thought of as a threat you must be eliminated. More people in the world have been murdered by leftist than any other ideology from Russia to China, Cuba you name any Left country and chances are people died if they had independent thought.

#25 | Posted by WTFIGO at 2017-06-16 02:45 PM | Reply

Even with a "Disturbing rise in left-wing violence".

It still pales in comparison to the sheer amount of violence unleashed by right wingers.

If by "leftist", you're referring to liberals.

You're absolutely wrong.

Your brain has rotted for all the stupid right wing talking points you ingest.

tell me Clown how many people have died under leftist governments compared to rightist? I will put a grand on the leftist winning by a mile. I do believe it is your brain that has got the leftist rot big time.

That would be you.

You just can't handle that truth.

I'd attempt to answer WTFIGO's question but he strikes me as the type who will claim the nazis were leftists because the word socialist shows up in their name.

Care to address whether you believe "leftist" to mean "liberal"?

As to your attempt at having a point.

I have no clue "how many" people have died under either a "leftist" or "rightist" government. Those words you're using are meaningless.

I will tell you this. More people have died at the hands of conservatives than the have at the hands of liberals.

To dispute this is asinine.
