Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, June 15, 2017

A shooter opened fire on Congressional Republicans practicing for the annual Congressional baseball game at a baseball park in Alexandria, Virginia, Wednesday morning, injuring lawmakers, staff, and law enforcement. It is unclear at this time whether the shooter was killed or is currently in police custody.

In the wake of the shooting, lots of people on the Internet lost their minds. Several progressives even went out of their way to suggest the victims deserved to get shot because they have the wrong views on gun control, or Obamacare, or Donald Trump. Here are some of the most insane reactions to the Congressional baseball shoooting so far.

This guy (Jesse Ben) writes for Huffington Post. He previously published an article saying that Trump opponents were morally justified in wanting to commit violence against him: His main beef with Wednesday's shooting is that it was poorly organized:

Newsweek seemed to think the most important fact about the shooting is that one of the victims supported Donald Trump: "Steve Scalise, shot at a congressional baseball game in Alexandria, was an early endorser of President Donald Trump."

And the founder of DailyKos and Vox Media wrote THIS: "Republicans are getting what they want."

So much for the "progressive" mantra of love, tolerance, understanding and all the rest of that BS. Alinsyism, violence, and the tenets of the Danni Institute of Political Science and Economics rule the Democratic Party now. You don't believe it? Just look at our main guy, James Hodgekinson: Remember the tenets of the Institute? I rest my case.
1)Republicans...BAD!
2)Democrats...GOOD!
3)Blame Reagan, Bush!
4)Tax the rich!

What do we expect? We have "progressives" blocking free speech while creating riots and destruction in our colleges and universities along with "progressive" professors joining in the violence. We have people like Colbert, Maher and others in the media going way over the line against conservatives. We have Hollywood with radicals using their bully pulpit talking about "blowing up the White House" and other such speech. We've had a president who for eight years has said things like, "Reward your friends, punish your enemies," They bring a knife, we bring a gun." It shouldn't be any wonder among the sane democrats that might remain that it would graduate to this. It can only get worse.

Blow it out your ass Jest. Most real progressives are horrified by this, pretend progressives can tweet and such, doesn't prove they are even really Progressives and if they are then shame on them. Just so you realize, when a tragedy occurs like this Progressives don't automatically try to turn it into a partisan thread the way you do. You're simple horrible. You should be ashamed of yourself.

"Most real progressives are horrified by this, pretend progressives can tweet and such,...

Yeah, danni, I see that Hodgekinson was definitely a pretend "progressive." Same with all the people I named like Colbert, Maher, and others like Ashley Judd, Madonna et al. Hell, I'm sure all of them, including Jesse Benn, subject of this article, are really conservatives "pretending" to be conservatives. I knew that all along. Those rioters, free speech deniers, property destroyers and professors in the colleges and universities are all conservatives too. Damn good actors to get away with all that, aren't they. Damn conservatives...they should be punished! But then, you and your little friends have been saying that for years, haven't you?

Jest, be honest, for every example you can site I can site right wingers acting badly. Neither side has a monopoly on bad behavior, those who pretend otherwise are crazy.

Jest is absolutely a partisan hack looking to demonize his opponents rather than discuss things honestly.

"Progressives don't automatically try to turn it into a partisan thread the way you do."

Ha! Check with McAuliffe for starters and then search around. A COUNTLESS number of the types I just mentioned above started turning this event into partisan politics within mere minutes of it hitting the news. Wake up danni. I noticed that the DR didn't really address it much and would probably rathe avoid it and that's why i posted it. I know, I know...I should be punished for posting something you and your little friends didn't wanna hear. "Safe spaces" and all....

Hmmm, I can't deny that some righties are bad, but let's start with the colleges and see if we can determine whether the conservative baddies outnumber the "progresive" baddies. For ju8st this ONCE, danni, please venture into reality, will you?

GOP is about to kill one-million health care jobs. How's that?

There are still conservatives, but they're being left in the muck with the rest of us. I miss them. Salt of the earth, most of them. We never disagreed on core values, just how to implement them.

Republicans are not conservatives. You're not even a political party. You're a collection of knee-jerk reactions. If you had souls you'd take them out and play with them.

You started your count at a place conservatives are afraid to go, because they get yelled at.

Conservatives are afraid to get yelled at.

That's funny.

Is yelling at people the "bad" you're concerned with!

That's funny too.

Piece of advice for you, Jest:

Well the right is finally able to point to overt violence by a lefty so they're going to milk this victimhood for all it's worth.

What we see here is that the Cons fear the Progressives. This incident only uncovers what they see as the progressive boogyman.
