Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Tuesday, April 18, 2017

On Tuesday, [Microsoft co-founder Steve] Ballmer plans to make public a database and a report that he and a small army of economists, professors and other professionals have been assembling as part of a stealth start-up over the last three years called USAFacts. The database is perhaps the first non-partisan effort to create a fully integrated look at revenue and spending across federal, state and local governments. Want to know how many police officers are employed in various parts of the country and compare that against crime rates? Want to know how much revenue is brought in from parking tickets and the cost to collect? Want to know what percentage of Americans suffer from diagnosed depression and how much the government spends on it? That's in there. You can slice the numbers in all sorts of ways.

"I would like citizens to be able to use this to form intelligent opinions," Ballmer said. "People can disagree about what to do -- I'm not going to tell people what to do." But, he said, people ought to base their opinions "on common data sets that are believable."

Admin's note: Participants in this discussion must follow the site's moderation policy. Profanity will be filtered. Abusive conduct is not allowed.

We will learn that the Pentagon is out of control and impossible to audit, by design, the CIA and NSA will not tell Ballmer how much they take, and the government staff that decides who gets how much welfare costs more than what welfare recipients receive. The Ballmer database will cost $10 million and the only thing that will change is the Rethugs will be taking more than the Wussies.

This effort WILL be stopped.

One thing organized corruption does not like - public exposure.

God God, Magnum, the usual suspect on the DR Left are going to hate this site since it contains those pesky facts that destroy their precious narratives...

*waiting for the first person to claim it is wildly inaccurate*
