Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

The Trump Administration will not disclose logs of those who visit the White House complex, breaking with his predecessor, the White House announced Friday. The decision, after nearly three months of speculation about the fate of the records, marks a dramatic shift from the Obama Administration's voluntary disclosure of more than six million records during his presidency. The U.S. Secret Service maintains the logs, formally known as the Workers and Visitors Entry System, for the purpose of determining who can access to the 18-acre complex. White House communications director Michael Dubke said the decision to reverse the Obama-era policy was due to "the grave national security risks and privacy concerns of the hundreds of thousands of visitors annually." Instead, the Trump Administration is relying on a federal court ruling that most of the logs are "presidential records" and are not subject to the Freedom of Information Act.

Its typical, one rule for Wussies which Rethugs scream bloody murder over and another for rethugs. Just like fathers and mothers in family court.

Gotcha... so you're open to him eventually rising to the level of being as bad as Obama... that's progress I suppose. Cuz right now, he ain't even doing that much... for some reason, I thought you held people to higher standards.

I guess I have to agree here. I'm onboard with you-- I desperately hope he finds a way to rise to level of "bad Obama" (how much more golf does he have to play to catch up? how much more transparency do we have to lose to reach Obama's WH? how much more does he and his family have to spend on travel to catch up to all the evil Obama travel?).

Let's hope he hears us... but, alas, neither of us have a segment on Fox and Friends or Infowars, so I guess our pleads will fall on deaf ears.

It depends on what you think is worse, claiming openness and providing an edited log (Obama), or keeping it private (Trump).
