Is President Trump changing course -- again -- on gun control? Trump met Thursday night with a lobbyist from the National Rifle Association, later describing the meeting as "Good (Great)" in a tweet. Chris Cox, the NRA lobbyist, posted on Twitter just after 9 p.m. ET that he had met with the president and Vice President Pence. "We all want safe schools, mental health reform and to keep guns away from dangerous people," he tweeted, adding: "POTUS & VPOTUS support the Second Amendment, support strong due process and don't want gun control."
Why was VP Pence present? Is Pres Trump unable to talk with a NRA lobbyist in his own, without adult supervision?
Was the Trump administration concerned that Pres Trump might again say he is in favor of confiscating guns without due process? Something so horrid to the Republican base that Fox News could not even report that he said it?
Really? Mango Rambo do a 180 on a policy? I am just surprised that it will take longer than a few hours this time.
I fully expect by the time Donny Two Scoops finishes his act of caring about assault type weapon violence he will have done a full 2700 pivot.
Trump's words, whether oral statements or tweets, are not worth a listen, much less reporting -- any more than the collected wisdom of SpongeBob SquarePants. It matters only what Trump does.
