CDC To End Most Global Disease Outbreak Prevention Efforts

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is rolling back its epidemic prevention programs in 39 out of 49 countries due to a lack of funding, The Washington Post reported Friday. Government officials told the Post that staffers abroad began receiving instructions about two weeks ago to start downsizing activities aimed at preventing epidemics.

Meh, other countries and people like Bill Gates will step up and fill the gap, now that the USA is a shithole country.

"The goal is to stop future outbreaks at their source."

I need a Trump voter to tell me why it's better, and cheaper, to let the outbreaks grow until the outbreaks get to America.

Happy Hunger Games! And may the odds be ever in your favor.

About $600 million was awarded to the CDC to help countries prevent infectious-disease threats from becoming epidemics. That money is slated to run out by September 2019.

We just gave trillions of dollars of free taxpayer money to corporations already making record profits ... and Congress can't come up with $600 million?

Pathetic

but if the outbreaks were transported here against their will as minors dont they have a certain right to spread and make everything sick?

Hey, so what if Ebola breaks out in a country close too the United States, who cares. It's certainly not worth $600 million dollars to try and prevent such an illness.
Trump voters should be silent from now on. You all suck.

If there's a policy that helps the average person, Trump's against it.

The richest among us won't be safe from diseases allowed to be communicated. When you are on your death bed just remember to say "thanks Trump."

It will never happen because Liberals like you keep trying to make everyone believe that every other country is the best place ever. If other countries aren't run down, 3rd world, etc. then these outbreaks will never occur based on Democrat logic. There may be occasional instances here and there that happen to 1st world countries but now that America knows that there are no such thing as 3rd world countries because Liberals have made sure to tell us in the last couple of months.

Another humtake dumbtake.

Your people are turning this place into a 3rd world country you moron. And duh, if you eliminate 3rd world countries, of course disease outbreaks will decrease. Why you think otherwise is beyond rational understanding.

Just wait till ebola returns.

It will spread like wildfire through the south.

No need for the cdc to control an outbreak, with the expanded military budget we can just bomb the affected countries to stop the spread. These outbreaks mostly happen in majority brown population countries anyway so no loss.
