Atlanta Fed projects 4th Qtr growth of 5.4%

Latest forecast: 5.4 percent -- February 1, 2018 The GDPNow model forecast for real GDP growth (seasonally adjusted annual rate) in the fourth quarter of 2017 is 5.4 percent on February 1, up from 4.2 percent on January 29. The forecast of real consumer spending growth increased from 3.1 percent to 4.0 percent after this morning's Manufacturing ISM Report On Business from the Institute for Supply Management, while the forecast of real private fixed-investment growth increased from 5.2 percent to 9.2 percent after the ISM report and this morning's construction spending release from the U.S. Census Bureau. The model's estimate of the dynamic factor for January -- normalized to have mean 0 and standard deviation 1 and used to forecast the yet-to-be released monthly GDP source data -- increased from 0.42 to 1.37 after the ISM report.

Look for the fed to start raising rates to hold off inflation.

BTW..."Is GDPNow an official forecast of the Atlanta Fed or the Bank's president?
No, it is not an official forecast of the Atlanta Fed, its president, the Federal Reserve System, or the FOMC"

i have no doubt the oligarchs will continue to level and pave the planet, eventually owning all of it. then, once you cannot afford their rent and fees, they will receive tax breaks. not write-offs, tax breaks, because their still coming for _you.

Picture the economy as a game of monopoly where the 1% own the bank, the hotels, the utilities, the railroads and every single property except for Baltic Avenue. Now the 1% comes to tell you that by just removing all the onerous taxes and fees in the community chest pile, they will make your life so much better.

That's where we are now.

They say there's no fool like an old fool, and a fool and his money are soon parted.

When the bubble drops guess who will be left holding the ball?

Not the 1%.
