FBI Has 2nd Dossier Alleging Trump-Russia Collusion

The FBI inquiry into alleged Russian collusion in the 2016 US presidential election has been given a second memo that independently set out some of the same allegations made in a dossier by Christopher Steele, the British former spy. The second memo was written by Cody Shearer, a controversial political activist and former journalist who was close to the Clinton White House in the 1990s. ... The Shearer memo was provided to the FBI in October 2016. It was handed to them by Steele -- who had been given it by an American contact -- after the FBI requested the former MI6 agent provide any documents or evidence that could be useful in its investigation, according to multiple sources.

More

Among other things, both documents allege Donald Trump was compromised during a 2013 trip to Moscow that involved lewd acts in a five-star hotel.

The Shearer memo cites an unnamed source within Russia's FSB, the state security service. The Guardian cannot verify any of the claims. ...

Sources say that while he lacks the precision and polish of a seasoned former spy like Steele, Shearer has also been described as having a large network of sources around the world and the independent financial means to pursue leads.

So that's why they are firing people. Gotta cover this stuff up!

Please tell me, I'm dying to hear, how the Democratic Party is going to fundamentally change Washington DC and the US economy for the better.

I'm sick and tired of Trump stories. His domination of the news cycle is beyond disgusting. He just isn't very interesting.

"both documents allege Donald Trump was compromised during a 2013 trip to Moscow that involved lewd acts in a five-star hotel."

And people wonder why Trump still refuses to enforce Russian sanctions...

Less polished and precise than Steele, who fabricated his evidence and refused to publicly defend it?

Awesome, make it a double nothingburger with extra cheese.

- who fabricated his evidence

Citation (other than rwing echo chamber) Necessary

Steele was known as a dependable source of intel by US agencies, enough so to garner warrants, long before his report.

One thing that has gotten lost in all of this is that Simpson told the House committee that Fusion GPS was also hired by someone, but he wouldn't say who, to do one on Hillary Clinton. So apparently somewhere out there, there is a Clinton dossier paid for by an unknown source.

"The Guardian cannot verify any of the claims". ...

The line in every article that bashes Trump. And you haters crap on Fox news.

There is no such thing as a spy that is a "dependable source of intel". The cold war was based on exaggerated threats from the Soviet Union, which had the effect of increasing the liars budgets. Its the same today, all threats against our national security are exaggerated by the intelligence community.

Occam's Razor: among competing hypotheses, the one with the fewest assumptions should be selected

Either there is a world-wide conspiracy against Trump including the Dutch government, the British government, the CIA, the NSA, the FBI, the FISA Court, and other allied intelligence agencies all out to prevent/destroy his presidency...

Or The Russians meddled in our elections and Trump's campaign (and possibly Trump, himself) assisted them in doing so.

What does the Razor say?

#11 | Posted by WhoDaMan at 2018-01-30 03:54 PM

#11 Or the Clinton campaign just paid some has been British spy to come up with some bs dossier and then used it to get a FISA warrant to spy on Trump thinking they would never get caught because Clinton was going to win big time and it would all disappear.

They only parroted what Dick Cheney wanted them to say. Has it been so long that we've forgotten stark differences between that era and the current?

#14 | Posted by rstybeach11 at 2018-01-30 04:26 PM

They had a FISA warrant on Carter Page because of his contacts with Russian spies. He was under surveillance before Trump even announced that he was running for President.

I'm sure Hillary had him in her sights back in 2013 (which is when Page came to their attention). /snark

He was overheard on bugs the feds planted with a Russian spy ring in New York and was considered by the FBI to be a foreign agent. The most recent FISA action was a renewal of the existing warrant.

BS dossiers do not justify FISA warrants. Credible, legitimate information, however, does.

Who was hired first by the Republicans?

And now there is a second dossier that the DNC didn't know of?

Man, you are pretty pathetic today... Sad. Wah wah.

#18 | Posted by Sycophant at 2018-01-30 04:32 PM

Steele, who fabricated his evidence and refused to publicly defend it?

Why should Steele get involved in America's lunacy?

He produced a professional product like he always has to his company GPS Fusion.

GPS Fusion DID defend the product.

If you haven't read the transcript educate yourself.

It is a very interesting read.

You mean the same DNC that didn't know that Debbie Wasserman was funneling all the campaign funds away from Bernie. You are too stupid to post here. Go back to a thread you know something about, in other words go off line.
