Trump Makes Calling Yourself 'Liberal' Great Again

Continuing a quarter-century trend, the term "liberal" continues to catch up with "conservative" as Americans' preferred description of their political views. Thirty-five percent of U.S. adults in 2017 identified as conservative and 26% as liberal, the first time the conservative label's edge has been single digits. Its nine-percentage-point edge in 2017 is down from 11 points in 2016 and roughly 20-point advantages at times in the past.

More

- Self-identified conservatives led liberals by nine percentage points in 2017

- First time in Gallup trend that conservative edge is less than 10 points

- Half of Democrats identify as liberal for first time

The increase in those who embrace progressive thought is good news. The history and the current status might appear to be news to some on the left who just can't understand why we haven't been able to easily pass more liberal policies than we have in recent history.

The only poll that matters is the ballot box.

Only in elections.

And that isn't what this thread is about.

#3 until you lose, then it doesn't matter at all.

The ballot box said Hillary Clinton was going to win.

Unfortunately the number of votes a person gets from the ballot box has nothing to do with ec.

If that were true, then Hillary would be President.

I have had the great pleasure to work around many people who are way smarter and better educated than I am. One thing I noticed for the past 40 years.

Every person that I considered to be a real human being was fiscally conservative and socially liberal.

Who among us, that does not have a chaotic financial life, is not fiscally conservative? Who among us, that is not evil and selfish, does not care about our fellow humans and is socially liberal? Part of your success and your obligation is to help others where you can.

One aspect does not outweigh the other.

Wrong oh lib breath. The ballot box is where she lost. I guess you still don't understand how a president is elected.

Reporting true facts is now considered 'whiney baby', whereas, believing in fairy tales and alternate truths is 'fact'.

I guess we will find out during the 2018 election cycle hands. Hold your breath that your poll is right.

"Hold your breath that your poll is right." - #12 | Posted by Sniper at 2018-01-14 10:24 AM

I cited no poll in this thread.

Which makes your comment yet another shining example of your stupidity (previously highlighted here).

That is what the article is about. Put the bottle away.

#14 | Posted by Sniper at 2018-01-14 01:12 PM

as an avowed Liberal, i'm glad trump won the election. it saved us from clinton whose only real attributions are relevant in comparison. trump is the first mirror that has accurately reflected the America that we've become. trump is a result

As I stated in my #13, I cited no poll in this thread, snippy.

Your stupidity continues its inevitable slide downward.
