Rupert Murdoch described Donald Trump as "a --- idiot" over his contradictory views on immigration policy, a new book reveals. The remark is contained in a fly-on-the-wall account of internecine warfare in the White House written by Michael Wolff, a Murdoch biographer, a copy of which has been seen by the Guardian. Wolff describes a Trump Tower meeting on Dec. 14, 2016 -- during the presidential transition -- involving Trump and executives from Silicon Valley companies including Alphabet (parent of Google), Apple, Facebook and Microsoft. Among the issues at stake was a potential crackdown by the incoming president on H-1B visas, the main visa used to hire foreign talent to tech companies.
Trump is quoted as saying the companies "really need these H-1B visas".
Wolff writes that Murdoch suggested a more liberal stance on H-1B visas would sit oddly with Trump's hardline stance on immigration, to which the president-elect replied: "We'll figure it out."
Wolff writes that Murdoch shrugged as he got off the phone, and said: "What a --- idiot."
"Wolff writes that Thomas Barrack Jr, a billionaire who is one of the president's oldest associates, allegedly told a friend: "He's not only crazy, he's stupid." Barrack denied that to the New York Times."
From the people that know him best.
I just hope all these stories don't get him so upset that he nukes France. Or California.
He's too vain to wear his glasses so it could be anywhere. He couldn't see Flynn meandering around the halls. Imagine what the map in the war room would look like. One big blur!
One aspect of emotional intelligence is influencing the emotions of others. This is where Trump shines. He knows how to manipulate people. He has an uncanny ability to discover their emotional vulnerabilities their fears, anxieties, prejudices, and darkest desires and use them for his own purposes.
To put it another way, Trump is an extraordinarily talented conman.
He's been a great political conman. He conned 62,979,879 Americans to vote for him in November 2016 by getting them to believe his lies about Mexicans, Muslims, African-Americans, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, and all the "wonderful," "beautiful" things he'd do for the people who'd support him.
And he's still conning most of them.
Political conning is Trump's genius. It's this genius when combined with his utter stupidity in every other dimension of his being that poses the greatest danger to America and the world. (Robert Reich)
"One aspect of emotional intelligence is influencing the emotions of others. This is where Trump shines. He knows how to manipulate people. He has an uncanny ability to discover their emotional vulnerabilities their fears, anxieties, prejudices, and darkest desires and use them for his own purposes."
And it doesn't hurt that Trump is benefiting from his friends the Russians who hacked everyone from his political opponent and her staff to American journalists (50 at the NYT alone) to Lindsey Graham. Blackmail made easy.
Yet Murdoch propped him up via his right-wing British and American publications!
Murdoch, you showed poor judgement marrying that Chinese tart Deng Wen Di, and you continued to show poor judgement propping up Trump. Now, you reap what you have sown. Your insult could also be directed at yourself.
Rupert the stupid doesn't understand that he helped build franklin-trump and when the monster turns on it's creators it will ruin their lives.
The funny thing is Wolff contradicts his own article in this quote...but then again, he admits that many parts of his book are "bald faced lies."
