Trump feeds Troops and Secret Service for Christmas

Being away from friends and family at Christmas time can be tough. But for some military and law enforcement personnel who found themselves working, President Donald Trump made sure this Christmas was a little extra special.

More

The best thing about this story, though, is that the meals were paid for out of Trump's own pocket.

Comments

Feeding the troops McDonald's Big Macs and pouring KFC gravy down their throats hardly qualifies as "supporting the troops".

How about a check for the actual expense his expeditions to Mara Lago actually costs us taxpayers? Remember when Barrack and Michelle took a weekend trip to New York to see a show and have dinner? The outrage from the right about the expense was incredible and they did it exactly once. Trump does it every other weekend. What's wrong? Camp David isn't good enough for the Trumps? No excuse for such an uncaring attitude about the costs of his golfing weekends. The man is disgusting.

Truly blessed to have this man as our president.

"Good news about Trump, I know you liberals wouldnt post it.."

Displaying low I.Q. Much lower than I ever suspected. Buy a clue BOAZ, all of those soldiers, etc. were going to be fed regardless of anything the Trumps did. Do you think we deploy soldiers and then not feed them? Probably the meals they might have chosen to put on their expense accounts would have been more to their choosing and better without the bragadocio added by the Trumps. I'd rather starve than eat a meal bought by Trump.

He's getting a kickback somewhere.

There's no reason to trust Donald Trump and no reason to admire him. He is not an altruist. He's no one you'd want as your neighbor, rich or poor. He's a problem for everyone he meets.

"According to CNN's Noah Gray, Trump gave military and the Mar-a-Lago security personnel who were tasked with protecting him free meals throughout the day."

Wow. He fed them for one whole day while taxpayers pay the $1 million in security required for each of his trips to Mar-a-Lago, a place where he's made an $8 million yearly increase in revenue?

WHAT A PRINCE!

You chumps are so easily bought.

Can't wait for Boaz's comments on the thread where Trump slashes VA funding and his gravy train dries up.

The Troops = active military personnel

There is no major military base in close proximity to Mar-a-Lago.

The closest major military base to Trump's personal Fantasy Land is McDill AFB, 215 miles away in Tampa.

It wasn't the fact that they went to NY or LA or even MarthaVineyard, it was the traffic jam inconvenience it caused working citizens for one night of the Kings pleasure. Its a double taxation really.

Obama even made light of peoples inconvenience .... what a jerk....

President Barack Obama joked today during a New York speech that he doesn't seem to have the traffic problems the city's residents are always complaining about.
'It's actually pretty smooth for me during the week,' Obama said, after playfully arguing that everyone in New York 'hypes' the traffic.
'I don't know what the problem is,' he told attendees of the Clinton Global Initiative's annual meeting. 'I haven't noticed.'

So bad they even had a contest about which one was worse.....

What was the worst Obama traffic jam in recent years?

Tell me how much traffic does Trump cause going to his hotel? I haven't seen any articles about how this inconveniences people of South Florida, it may, but I haven't seen any reports like I did with Biden, Obama and Hillary from even liberal news sources.

Look harder, Andrea. Google is your friend.

Nice faux outrage BTW.

Somewhere? As in he paid his own hotel to put up a buffet?

You clearly made no attempt to look. There are a lot of reports from people upset by King Donald's many trips to Mar-a-Lago and his other properties.

"Palm Beach County has paid more than $1 million for security, overtime pay and other Trump-related expenses in the past few months, according to Money.com.

"New Yorkers can relate. From Election Day to inauguration, it cost us $24 million to provide security at Trump Tower, and we continue to pay six figures a day to protect first lady Melania Trump and their son, Barron. Rep. Carolyn Maloney of Manhattan has asked Congress to "provide city taxpayers a full reimbursement."

"Meanwhile, Palm Beach Town landscapers and pool cleaners are banned from the island after 3 p.m. on Fridays through May 1, and nearby Lantana Airport is on lockdown. It bleeds money every time Trump jets in for meetings and rounds of golf."

Number of homeless vets rises for first time in seven years

The number of homeless veterans across America increased in 2017 for the first time in seven years, when government officials began their nationwide push to help impoverished former service members.

The increase reflects estimates from last January, before President Donald Trump took office and any of his new housing policies were put in place. The annual point-in-time count from Housing and Urban Development officials found roughly 40,000 homeless veterans at that time, an increase of nearly 600 individuals from the same mark in 2016.

Way to go, Dotard.

Good God you people are ridiculous.

This was a nice thing for Trump to do. Hardly unprecedented, but nice nonetheless.

Why not just acknowledge it for what it is and then leave it at that?

It was indeed a nice thing to do.

The issue, IMO, is folks who point to small things like this as a reason to ignore the giant dumpster fire Trump is the rest of the time.
