Long-standing "chain migration" policies that encourage legal immigrants to bring dozens of family members into the U.S. led to an explosion of entries in 2016, 53 percent higher than in 2011, according to a new analysis of Census Bureau data. With an estimated addition of 1.8 million legal and illegal immigrants, 2016 is tied with 1999 for seeing the most enter, about 600,000 more than at the height of the great migration through New York's Ellis Island in the 1900s.
I wonder how many US citizens are homeless, jobless, or under-employed ....... I am sure they are just lazy right Snoofy.
"I am sure they are just lazy."
You support Trump.
Trump hires unskillrd foreign workers for his properties.
Why do you support Trump, exactly?
Is it because blacks are lazy?
What conservatives are calling "chain migration" used to be called migration. This rhetoric shows that Trump and the rest of his clown car hate legal immigrants too.
As the grandson of an Irish Catholic whose parents came over on the boat, I'm glad this country was once welcoming to immigrants. I hope it becomes welcoming again in 2020 when the bigot is deported from a place he doesn't belong.
Virtually every successive wave of immigrants have brought ideas and skills which made this nation richer. Miami would not be the international city that is the gateway to Central and S. America had it not been for immigration from Cuba, Venequela, Haiti, Jamaica, and other places. I watched it grow from a fairly small city to a metropolis and the input from the immigrants was the primary force that caused it. When I first moved to Miami I heard other "anglos" complaining about the "Cuban." Then I started working in Miami, surrounded by Cubans. I grew as a person from that experience and actually enjoyed my friendships with them. I still remember being invited into their homes the first few times and was overwhelmed with the beauty of their culture. Years ago I was one of the anti-immigrant fools, I've learned better over the years.
When your ancestors came here they didn't bring a family with them?

What do you mean by "came here"?
Family was Cajun & Indian, the US purchased LA .... so they technically invaded my land.
You gotta point?
"Family was Cajun & Indian"
Was? Did you breed out the Indian or something?
When people come to America should they get a divorce first or something? Why is it a bad thing for a family to stick together when they come to America?
altFacts. twsited, fixed, ...what was the 3rd word ...before WE attacked Iraq? ... ah yes, "sexed-up."

#10 and you embraced the invaders and survived their disease...you're clearly on the wrong side.
