Liberal media slams FLOTUS Christmas Decorations

Did you know that those exquisite White House Christmas decorations First Lady Melania Trump proudly unveiled yesterday are "spooky," "spine-chilling," and "nightmarish" -- like scenes from Mordor, Narnia, or The Shining?

More

It took most of the day yesterday, but by nightfall, the Trump-hating media was able to settle on an unfavorable narrative with which to belittle the newly unveiled decor. Apparently these people despise Trump so much they must also despise his Christmas decorations.

I dug up the link in the pay-walled article you cited. Interesting that the pay-wall only allows the provocative, and incorrect, portion of the article to be read.

Anyway, here's the HuffPost article in question:

Spooky White House Christmas Chamber Is Creeping Everyone The Heck Out
www.huffingtonpost.com

...The White House unveiled its Christmas decorations Monday.

Given that President Donald Trump has made the celebration of the holiday a central talking point of both his campaign and his presidency, it's no surprise they went big.

Many of the rooms designed by first lady Melania Trump have a classic Christmas look.

But one chamber in particular is getting attention online for all the wrong reasons. It's a twig-lined hallway that's being compared to everything from "The Shining" to "The Blair Witch Project."...

So it seems that only one "chamber" is seen as "spooky." And from what I've read and the pictures I've viewed, the description is accurate.

The rest of the rooms are described thusly: "Many of the rooms designed by first lady Melania Trump have a classic Christmas look."

So allow me to ask you a simple question:

Does this picture of The Chamber remind you of Christmas?

Really?

OK, here's The Chamber in real life...

Kinda creepy, even without the hints of The Shining.... :)

Yeah, I thought it was quite the good representation of the image in my mind when I saw the picture of The Chamber.

I would have thought of it more as a White House Halloween decoration than a White House Christmas decoration.

#4 | Posted by LampLighter at 2017-11-29 08:54 PM

It's not creepy at all. Just really really stupid looking.

#5 | Posted by LauraMohr at 2017-11-29 08:57 PM

@#5

At a minimum, it certainly appears as if FL Trump took the "Christmas" out of the Christmas decorations she placed in The Chamber.

#7 | Posted by LampLighter at 2017-11-29 09:02 PM

I wonder if they are flame resistant. Looks like one bad move and a tunnel of fire ensues.

#8 | Posted by LauraMohr at 2017-11-29 09:28 PM

For decades conservatives are screaming about liberal's war on Christmas.

Now, Melanoma has decorated the White House to look like a scene out of nightmare before Christmas and Conservatives are fine with it.

#9 | Posted by ClownShack at 2017-11-29 09:32 PM

Imagine if Michelle Obama had done this. Oh, the horror!

Melania does it, and conservatives are all like, "She looks like an angel!"

You can't make this stuff up.

#10 | Posted by Gal_Tuesday at 2017-11-29 09:38 PM

If Michelle Obama had done this Boaz would have lost his mind!

#11 | Posted by ClownShack at 2017-11-29 09:40 PM

@#9 ... Now, Melanoma has decorated the White House ...

Not the whole White Hose, but just one area of the White House.

According to Huffington Post, "...Many of the rooms designed by first lady Melania Trump have a classic Christmas look. ..."

Maybe FL Trump wanted to have one area, The Chamber, dedicated to those who want to take Christ out of Christmas

Hey Boaz, what are your thoughts here?? Why would she do this?

#12 | Posted by LampLighter at 2017-11-29 09:43 PM

Now, Melanoma has decorated the White House ...

I swear that was autocorrect.

#13 | Posted by ClownShack at 2017-11-29 09:46 PM

Boaz gets sucked in by fake news about "liberals"?

I guess there's a first time for everything. /s

#14 | Posted by jpw at 2017-11-29 09:46 PM

"...Many of the rooms designed by first lady Melania Trump have a classic Christmas look. ..."

If this is the case, then the media is being deceptive by not showing the rest of the White House decorations.

#15 | Posted by ClownShack at 2017-11-29 09:48 PM

It looks like she was going for a lane/path between trees covered in snow with the end being filled with warm light and a holiday tree (suck it righties).

Cool idea but it does have a creepy more Halloween-like look.

@#14 ... Boaz gets sucked in by fake news about "liberals"? ...

To be correct, the original article said "anti-Trump" media. For some reason, Boaz changed it to "Liberal" medial.

I've had to modify headlines in order to fit within the 60-character limit here.

But the change wasn't to get in under the 60-charater limit of subjects, because Anti-Trump has more characters. 10 vs. 7.

So the question seems to become, why did Boaz intentionally change the meaning of a headline?

Because for him a day without whining about liberals is like a day without feet?

Do you remember when Republicans freaked out because Michelle Obama went sleeveless?

What does your team do other than whine about Republicans 24/7?

#20 | POSTED BY NULLIFIDIAN

My team?

I don't exactly have a team. I may agree with the Dems more often than not but I'm not a brain dead sycophant like most.

Besides, I'd think you'd feel camaraderie with fellow 'get off my lawn' types.

#21 | Posted by jpw at 2017-11-29 11:22 PM

@#20 ... your team ...

Can you explain what you mean by the phrase "your team."

The context of your short message makes it difficult to ascertain you meaning.

thx.

Are you new here?

I am surprised he didn't find a way to work "Muslim" into the headline.

BTW, the decorations make the white house look like a Russian whore house which is fitting.

#24 | Posted by 726 at 2017-11-30 08:18 AM

How much did Dotard pay Tim Burton to decorate the white house?

#25 | Posted by 726 at 2017-11-30 09:24 AM

Excellent Holiday decorations.

Not sure what holiday...might be Romanian but very spooky!

They're creepy and they're kooky,
mysterious and spooky,
They're all together ooky,
The Dotard Family

Their house is a museum,
when people come to see 'em
They really are a screa-um
The Dotard Family

So get a witch's shawl on,
A broomstick you can crawl on.
We're going to make a call on
The Dotard Family

Happy Holidays Dotards!

Everyone on the DR changes headlines for space and to reflect their views...your "shock" over this is hilarious.

#27 | Posted by Rightocenter at 2017-11-30 12:08 PM

That being said, the outrage over this hallway (when the rest of the WH is admittedly traditional) is beyond faux, bordering on pathological.

Grow up.

#28 | Posted by Rightocenter at 2017-11-30 12:09 PM

Ummmm stop projecting.

It's not outrage, unless you're referring to righties puling over the fact that it wasn't a glowing, sycophantic response on par with their own behavior.

#29 | Posted by jpw at 2017-11-30 12:17 PM

I think it's kinda cool, no pun intended.

I've got to believe it's Melania recreating how she remembers Christmas, in bitterly-cold Slovenia. Good for her.

I watched this movie called the witch and the forest was just like this.

I vote creepy due to my love of horror.

So it's a positive vote for the Christmas massacre theme well executed.

Remember the outrage from the right when Michelle Obama dared show her arms?

Pepperidge Farm remembers.
