James O'Keefe Proves WaPo Fact-Checked Moore Stories

A woman who falsely claimed to The Washington Post that Roy Moore, the Republican U.S. Senate candidate in Alabama, impregnated her as a teenager appears to work with an organization that uses deceptive tactics to secretly record conversations in an effort to embarrass its targets. In a series of interviews over two weeks, the woman shared a dramatic story about an alleged sexual relationship with Moore in 1992 that led to an abortion when she was 15. ... The Post did not publish an article based on her unsubstantiated account. When Post reporters confronted her with inconsistencies in her story and an Internet posting that raised doubts about her motivations, she insisted that she was not working with any organization that targets journalists. But on Monday morning, Post reporters saw her walking into the New York offices of Project Veritas, an organization that targets the mainstream news media and left-leaning groups.

James O'Keefe, the Project Veritas founder who was convicted of a misdemeanor in 2010 for using a fake identity to enter a federal building during a previous sting, declined to answer questions about the woman outside the organization's offices on Monday morning shortly after the woman walked inside.

"I am not doing an interview right now, so I'm not going to say a word," O'Keefe said.

More FTA:

But on Monday morning, Post reporters saw her walking into the New York offices of Project Veritas, an organization that targets the mainstream news media and left-leaning groups. The organization sets up undercover "stings" that involve using false cover stories and covert video recordings meant to expose what the group says is media bias.

James O'Keefe, the founder of Project Veritas who was convicted of a misdemeanor in 2010 for using a fake identity to enter a federal building during a previous sting, declined to answer questions about the woman outside the Project Veritas office, a storefront in Mamaroneck, N.Y., on Monday morning shortly after the woman walked inside.

"I am not doing an interview right now, so I'm not going to say a word," O'Keefe said.

I think my favorite idiotic thing they have done is the time they got caught committing voter fraud,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

so they could prove that people commit voter fraud...................

Idiots here at that **** up.

#5 | Posted by MrSilenceDogood at 2017-11-27 06:12 PM

So they were trying to discredit mainstream media and all they did was prove that the media publish carefully researched, verified, facts. Something you can bet Rs will not want to mention.

#6 | Posted by SomebodyElse at 2017-11-27 06:21 PM

That Project Veritas supports the honorable child molester from Alabama is not surprising. Their funding is not disclosed but we know that it is in part funded by the Trump Foundation and Breitbart.

That was a dopey way to go about whatever she was trying to pull.

weird.

"That was a dopey way to go about whatever she was trying to pull."

Nobody has ever accused little Jimmie of being the brightest bulb in the drawer.

#9 | Posted by Danforth at 2017-11-27 06:51 PM

As WAPO itself said, they were expecting something like this.

#10 | Posted by Zed at 2017-11-27 07:11 PM

All the Right ever has is lies. Why is so hard for folks to see this?

#11 | Posted by TFDNihilist at 2017-11-27 08:13 PM

What a crazy awesome story!

Rigors of journalism bring about some amazing circumstances. If anything, this story combined with the diligently detailed research methods that revealed the Moore story in the first place only underscores WAPO's standards.

I find it hilarious so many are willing to disparage them, especially about the Moore story, without any specifics and yet there's folks like OKeefe out there trying to actively discredit them.

This should ALSO shed light on Okeefe's video with the abortionistas selling baby parts.

#12 | Posted by rstybeach11 at 2017-11-27 08:15 PM

Thank you, James O'Keefe. You have succeeded in proving how carefully the Washington Post checked out Roy Moore's accusers before reporting their accusations.

Because of you we now have even more reason to believe Moore was a vile kiddy chaser in his 30s who sexually assaulted a 15-year-old he met in child custody court and was banned from a mall.

#13 | Posted by rcade at 2017-11-27 10:09 PM

Isn't he the same one with those fake Planned Parenthood videos???

"Moore was a vile kiddy chaser in his 30s who sexually assaulted a 15-year-old he met in child custody court and was banned from a mall."

That's a lie!

She was 14!!!

#15 | Posted by Danforth at 2017-11-27 10:16 PM

From Reddit.com:

I like how the right-wing "activist" group got somebody to lie to reporters in hopes of getting their story published so they could say "gotcha!" and shout about confirmed fake news without realizing that if that did happen it would mean that fake news was deliberately pushed by the right and that because it didn't happen it proves WaPo's credibility.

They didn't think that one through.

Not like the readers of the gloating after the sting would either, really.

#16 | Posted by rstybeach11 at 2017-11-28 12:42 AM

"They didn't think that one through."

They were too busy taking a victory lap, based on their brilliant, can't-fail idea.

#17 | Posted by Danforth at 2017-11-28 12:45 AM

"They didn't think that one through."

Their fans don't think anything through either.
There's actually no downside to them doing this.
It's like sending email spam, the cost is free so you get a lot of it; there's no downside to not spam you with.

It's sad that Republicans are too stupid to be embarrassed.

#19 | Posted by Sycophant at 2017-11-28 01:24 AM

It's probably related to them generally struggling to find empathy for anyone that isn't just like them... except for Alphas whose musk attracts them.

And then when they do squirt some empathy out of their emotion-glands, usually after apologizing for Republican child molesters, they use it to browbeat The Enemy with self-righteousness, like in RightOCenter's "Woe Unto The Poor Homeless In Democrat Enclave Malibu" thread.

#20 | Posted by snoofy at 2017-11-28 01:34 AM

James Okeefe is the poster boy for what is wrong with the Republican Party. Dishonest, evil, and throw in a batch of stupid.

#21 | Posted by danni at 2017-11-28 06:53 AM

Not a single rightwinger here trying to defend O'Keefe. They are all too busy wiping off the ---- that O'Keefe sprayed all over them. lol.

Is that a surprise? This is the party that tries to prove government doesn't work by sabotaging it.

Republicans are disgusting.

#23 | Posted by SpeakSoftly at 2017-11-28 11:19 AM

Lets all wander over to breitbart and see if they do ANY reporting on this at all. Any bets?

#24 | Posted by SpeakSoftly at 2017-11-28 11:21 AM

I sometimes think that people like O'Keefe and his ilk assume that since they are willing to be such pieces of s... then everyone else must be also. It doesn't work like that though. There are people of integrity and honesty out there. You just won't find them on the alt-right.

#25 | Posted by moder8 at 2017-11-28 11:27 AM

ahaha here's their headline:

"James O'Keefe and Washington Post Bust EACH OTHER"

Get that guys? OKeefe (who was running a scam) and WaPo (who uncovered the scam) are BOTH to blame!

WHATABOUTISM and false equivalence are all repubs have left.

Can any Conservative explain to me how James O'Keefe busted the Washington Post?

#27 | Posted by Sycophant at 2017-11-28 11:50 AM

From Breitbart:

"In one sequence, the Post‘s Dan Lamothe, who covers national security issues, is seen on video telling a Project Veritas undercover reporter that the newspaper "definitely" does not like Trump. He comments on his newspaper's editorials against Trump: "Those have become critical to the point where I'll read some of them and I'm like, ‘Whoa!' Like, ‘I work for this place?'.""

WAPO BUSTED!

lol

#28 | Posted by rstybeach11 at 2017-11-28 01:00 PM

"Dan Lamothe, who covers national security issues, is seen on video telling a Project Veritas undercover reporter that the newspaper "definitely" does not like Trump. "

Could it be because Trump finances things like Project Veritas whose work is not to hold journalists accountable for the truth but actually works to disperse lies and create fake stories? Not surprising at all that a reputable media company would dislike Trump.

#29 | Posted by johnny_hotsauce at 2017-11-28 02:21 PM

Just settle down. Within a day or two, the right will remember this story as proving the WaPo got caught making a false charge against kid diddler Moore. They are truly that stupid.

yuppers. And he was also charged and convicted and sentenced for trying to tap the phones of Senator Mary L. Landrieu.

Conservative filmmaker James O'Keefe was sentenced to three years of probation, 100 hours of community service and a $1,500 fine after he pleaded guilty on Wednesday to misdemeanor charges stemming from his involvement in a break-in at Sen. Mary Landrieu's (D-La.) office.

They don't have much to say these days about a lot of things that would have triggered them in the past.

But I don't think their quiet is out of shame or any sort of recognition of their hypocrisy or double standards.

It's quite simply they're getting what they want and have no compunction regarding their legality or morality.

Health that covers more and costs less.

Tax cuts that reduce the deficit.

R voters are like five year olds that want the candy before eating their peas. They are children who want to be told it will all be okay and that by giving gobs and gobs of cash to the 1% their lives will be magically taken care despite the facts that it doesn't work. Ever.

Health care that covers more...

#34 | Posted by 726 at 2017-11-29 09:46 AM

#22 | Posted by moder8, I'll take that challenge. If O'Keefe had targeted the right, he would be your huckleberry, but I believe the left needed a couple of shocks. They had little or no scrutiny for decades.(Acorn)(DNC)(Planned Parenthood) He doesn't make an actualization, he just records, then makes that public. The good effect is the media is far more careful, tend to fact check more and politicians are starting to think before they speak. Do not accept the narrative. Back when I was a kid,it was common for aides to deliver Congressmen to the floor for votes with hand trucks, as these elected members were too drunk to walk. That was never reported, reporters were afraid of loosing access. Access is the currency of the old media.

#35 | Posted by docnjo at 2017-11-29 01:45 PM

You realize those were phony scams, too, right? Just like this one. That's all O'Keefe does.

Uh, no. He just records, CREATIVELY EDITS TO CHANGE CONTEXT AND CREATE FALSE NARRATIVES AND IMPRESSIONS, then releases to his right wing handlers.

#37 | Posted by mOntecOre at 2017-11-29 04:28 PM

He doesn't make an actualization, he just records, then makes that public.

He was also arrested and convicted of attempted illegal wiretapping.

------- methodology is to obtain recordings and video any way he can and then edit them to support his ideological agenda.

#38 | Posted by donnerboy at 2017-11-29 04:38 PM

Sounds like he might have violated his probation.

#39 | Posted by squinch at 2017-11-29 06:58 PM

#37 | Posted by mOntecOre, So when a progressive says something stupid or imply they are doing something illegal, it is all just editing. Damn, I have been accused of being gullible- but the difference is Okeefe has released the entire transcripts, which are even more damning. Especially the ones from the DNC- those guys were fired because they got caught bragging about what slick operators they were, accessing rent-a-mobs to protest at Trump rallies.

#40 | Posted by docnjo at 2017-11-30 05:06 AM

#39 | Posted by squinch, Strange but Acorn executives was guilty of much more, like embellishment of more than a million. No charges there- it was Louisiana.
