Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

The Los Angeles Times on Wednesday apologized for publishing a story about the 1994 shooting of rapper Tupac Shakur, after a Web site questioned the authenticity of documents the paper used for the report.

Will this ever end? The more occurences we see of news orginaztions not investigating sources before reporting stories, the more confidence is lost in these people.

I just find it stunning how they have been so easily sucked in to buying into stuff off of the internet. I expect it from the general public but not newspapers.

kina like cops not getting real evidence and beating a confession out of a perp. ah the American way.

I tell you I am agog and aghast!!! Who would have ever thought a paid news organization could print news (even made-up news) that was not true.

If you don't like it, stop buying it.

WHAT?!!? A news organization did not fully investigate a story before reporting it? THIS HAS NEVER HAPPENED BEFORE>

Typical Los Angeles Times - one-sided and slanted journalism.

Sometimes I wonder why I still keep my subscription going but I just like having a newspaper in the morning to go along with my coffee.

Wow. One sided AND slanted? Wow.

Here's a tip, Chris. Move to the OC - of course, it would have to be the WHITE part of OC - HB, maybe. Or Laguna. Yeah, you'd fit right in with the Laguna Beach crowd. Then you could subscribe to the Register.

biggie smalls for mayor!

I hear that the Clinton's planted the story....

I think that a lack or work ethic combined with the battle for "breaking news" (amplified by e-news) explains part of the problem.

Seriously, part of this has to be blamed on the continuing slashing of news budgets for these papers.

I once ran a false Tupac story. I drank a whole Sixpac, not just 2 as I had told my wife.

Was wondering how long it would take Jomama's "I hate white people" tirades to emerge again. Couldn't suppress it for long, could you, Jomama? Racebaiting slime like you always rises to the top and can't stay below the surface for long. But we all have your number, TPS, no matter how you try to hide it behind your "new" persona and what you consider to be your "oh so clever" racist remarks. You're a pathetic and sad joke.

Yeah, I'm so "I hate white people". You lame little gremmie. My town. My waves. You're not local. Go home.

But seriously, I have a new persona? I don't feel any whiter.

Don't change the subject, Jomama -- we all know you hate white people. It's obvious in reading a number of your posts. You're a racebaiting asshole. Two flags for you today. Keep it up and I'll forward your racist garbage to Rcade. I have no problem at all doing that because it's crap from real racists like you who dirty up this blog.

Heehee! You are one gulllible traveller, ain't ya'?
Forward all you want, you little wimp. Then I'll tell Montecore how he can get his lame ass banned.

"Then I'll tell Montecore how he can get his lame ass banned.

That's racist, you Aunt Jemima-lovin' ballbag.

Indeed. Indeed.

Oh, and Chris? You're part eggplant.

Gang menbers are domestic terrorists - worthless pieces of shit: Kill 'em all.

Tupac went out of his way to act like a complete
asshole - he had minimal skills/talent and he died
like a dirty street nigger. He was worth tens of millionsof dollars when he died. Exactly what the fuck did this loser want out of life?

Tupac was a pathetic moron and the world is better
off without him. The people who worship this guy
deserve to be violated by thugs just like him.

Tupac ball lickers = moral idiots.

"He was worth tens of millionsof dollars when he died. Exactly what the fuck did this loser want out of life?

Oh yeah, and money is everything.

Dean Buvia

See you in the cage, Dean. Or do you just like to watch?

The tens of millions of dollars that Tupac
"earned" represent countless options that
Tupac could have exercised. The option he
chose was "keepin' it real wit all da niggas".

He is a loser for choosing the aforementioned
option.

Of course, Dean, you must be "the biggest winner" I especially love your fluid use of the "N" word. You seem to have practiced that a lot. Kudos!

he had minimal skills/talent and he died

I know my white(anglo-saxon) peers on this site could not appreciate what Tupac could do as an artist. If you hadnt lived in his lifestyle, you wouldn't understand. I condem what he stood for. But I understand where he was coming from. I hate that he glorified the dumbing down of black men. But as an artist, in order to articulate the situation of millions of young black men, he was a visionary. Music wise, he was one of the most talented rappers of his day. Honestly, I feel he got what he deserved. It's all a part of the game and he lost.

Don't hate the playa, hate the game....

LAT went all National Enquirer on Tupac's ass?

Well, at least they apologised afterwords, tha'st more than FOX does when they fuck up.

~Boaz

Agreed his talent went beyond almost all the rest of his peers and that he went out like a thug but can't agree that he deserved it.

"I set goals, take control, drink out my own bottle
I make mistakes but learn from every one
And when it's said and done
I bet this brother be a better one
If I upset you dont stress
Never forget, that God isn't finished with me yet"

"My mama always used to tell me: 'If you can't find somethin' to live for, you best find somethin' to die for."

~Tupac Shakur.

He lived for his words and he died for them too.

Worth it?

Be Well.

BOAZ...

"Talanted rapper" is akin to
"Talanted glue-sniffer".

It's over-rated.
Of course, being an Anglo I cannot understand.

Can I say blacks can't understand swimming or algebra?
Would that interfere with your keen sense of
justice and fair play?

No, but don't let the fact you are a tard prevent you from posting.
Cheers!

tupac is still alive, don't believe what the media says. He is in FBI witness protection. The murder story was just a cover and it worked well.

Doesn't surprise me at all. Heck, the standard bearer New York Times does it all the time.

And, the networks (CBS in particular) are guilty of it, too. Reminds me of a joke I heard a few years back after the CBS fiasco.

"Tonight, we'll be reporting ten news stories. Can you tell which one is false?"

The Smoking Gun uncovered the mistakes so quickly after the LA Times story published. I think the LA Times and their Pulitzer Prize winning journalist ought to be mighty embarrassed.

White folks who like hip hop have no problem understanding the talent of Tupac. It's not a race thing, it's whether you like hip hop. He wasn't all thug all the time either. He had plenty of great songs that reveal his emotional and thoughtful side (see Dear Mama).

tupac was nothing but a fucking piece of shit street gang fuck. Anyone who sees him differently is an idiot.

Charlie Manson wrote music and lyrics also... Such a kind, gentle soul is he.
