It seems like the home owner is not a Saint but it seems that none of this would have happened if the kid didn't decide to go out and try to steal from neighbors garages. So the guy left his garage half open, it's still his stuff inside or on his property. If he he leaves his car unlocked in his driveway, is it fair game to steal it? If you leave the front door to your house unlocked or a window open, is it ok for someone to enter and take what they want? I thought it said he had been burglarized twice? I'm sure he was pretty pissed people kept thinking they could take what he worked hard to obtain and I'm sure if he had family, they felt pretty unsafe being burglarized multiple times.
I highly doubt he would have been waiting with a gun or had motion sensors if other people hadn't decide to come onto his property and take what wasn't theirs. No one can expect someone to take what they get over and over again. It's the bully mentality that he should just sit there and let others take what they want from him.
