Its a historic moment for the nation and no matter the outcome in November, we've taken a huge step forward. And we have to refuse to ever step back again. Jeff - Hillary's speech was excellent and Bill's was very good. Both seemed very genuine in their support. Most reports say that behind the scenes Hillary is doing everything she should be, and that Bill has moved on past his initial anger.

I think the media has hyped the "conflict" between the two camps far beyond what was actually there. (Imagine that!)

I didn't even watch all of Warner's speech. Don't know WHAT they were thinking with that one! Should have given it to Brian Schweitzer! Biden gave the speech he was supposed to... not too glitzy, very "common man" story anyone could relate to.

Bottom line - I think the Clinton's are on board to get Obama elected. That being said, he could lose and Hillary wants to be in position to take up the mantle again in '12. Nothing wrong with that and she went a long way toward that with her graciousness this week.

Possibly not. However, it is VERY unlikely that this could be true because:

1. There is no record of Obama's mother leaving the country.
2. Even if Obama was born over there, you can't bring a baby back into the country without a passport. One of my co-workers is married to a German woman. She had the baby in Germany and they couldn't bring the baby back into the country for weeks while they waited to get the baby's passport.

Actually there was very little of that, and what there was has been shown to have been things beneficial to the community. And there were equal numbers of legislative initiatives Obama opposed that would have been beneficial to Rezko.

Well, lets start with the price of the house.

It wasn't a $4 million dollar house. The asking price was $1.9 million. The Obamas made a series of increasingly higher bids until the owners accepted a $1.6 million dollar offer. The Rezkos did not own nor did the purchase the house. The Obamas obtained a mortgage to purchase the home. (Michelle has told the story several times of how they got lucky with Obama's book sales to be able to afford it.)

Mrs. Rezko DID buy the vacant lot next door for $650,000. The owners wanted to sell both properties at the same time. They have gone on record that the transaction didn't impact the sale of the house - that the Obamas simply had the best offer.

Several months later the Obama's purchased 1/6 of the vacant lot from the Rezkos for $109,000 - 1/6 of the original purchase price and FMV. Actually, above FMV at the time.

The Rezkos later sold the remainder of the lot for a small profit.

No quid pro quo has been claimed by anyone. In the extensive investigation of Rezko there were 0 allegations of wrong doing or impropriety on Obama's part.
