So if GZ testifies that he was getting beat down so hard he was in actual fear of his life anyone would believe that was possible after seeing how big and strong TM was by that night. Those first pictures were totally dishonest. When you see the ones the Sanford Cops saw, the mystery goes away as to why they did not want to take this to trial.

The anti-TM scenarios only work if he is painted as a tall, strong kid who likes beating up weaker indivduals for no good reason. Even to the point of having a vid on his cell phone of his friends beating up a homeless man. Or texting about how a guy he beat up "didn't bleed enough, just his nose". Or recieving texts from a girl begging him to stop fighting so much. Or texts from his mom telling him he had to move out.

And this is stuff the prosecuters did not delete. Wonder what they deleted???

The whole meme that TM saw GZ as a "crazy man following me" is made up. The ear-witness who claimed that has credibilty issues, to put it mildly.. Besides, if TM was really afraid he could have not let GZ get close to him.

Being involved with MMA fighting is not a criminal thing but it supports the believability of GZs claim that he was honestly in fear of his life.

By all accounts it was quite dark at that spot. The gun GZ had was tee-ninzy and all black. Unless GZ had shouted, "This is a gun and not a cell phone" TM would not know it was a weapon.
It IS possible that actually happened. But I do not think it is possible that GZ would take a prolonged life-threatening head-beating without firing IF he had started off with a weapon in his hand.

You realize, of course, that if the Cops show up - that you just were on the phone with - and you are pointing a gun at someone, you will spend decades in prison.

Another thing. Martin really was exactly the sort of individual a NW guy should report and try to keep an eye on. He was "on drugs", he was a street fighter, he had been caught with burglary tools at school. That neighborhood had recently had some violent home-invasions.
If GZ and TM both been white or both been black this would have been a no-brainer for Law Enforcement.

I do not think "supporters" of G. Zimmerman identify with him all that much.
The problem is, the story that most people are discussing is basically a hoax successfully pulled off by a Mimai PR firm and a Personal Injury Lawyer. That made up story resonated well
with lots of people because it was created by Professionals to do that.
The local cops were hyperaware of the potential image issues here and took this case as seriously as possible. They had meetings every day for two weeks. The Forensic work was thorough. But what the Cops saw from the beginning was that Martin was a tall muscular fit young man who was inflicting a series of head wounds on a shorter pudgy guy who could not have chased down or cornered Martin (the location does not allow for that). They also knew that Zimmerman took a lot of hits before he used a weapon. They had also listened to the phone tapes. From them it is obvious that Zimmerman was begging them to hurry up and get there because he was afraid of this guy. He wanted to keep him in sight so he could show roughly where he was headed. He could not have possibily chased down or trapped Martin.
The going to get iced tea and skittles for his little brother in the rain was created out of nothing. His phone location log has not been released but most likely will show that he had wandered for hours over a wider area. His text messages and internet searches reveal a love of mixed marshal arts fighting.
What would have stopped the potentially deadly assault on Zimmerman if not a weapon? Should he allowed himself to be beaten into a vegatative state? Seriously.

The best way, by far, to predict future behavior in regard to something like mis-behaving with a gun, is past behavior.
Let say there is a successful, middle aged person with an absolutely clean record of lawful behavior. Let us add to that a diagnosis of ADHD, mild autism, maybe depression, OCD, or other similar issues.
Of course the State would love to criminalize gun ownership with such people no matter how misguided. It would make it seem like they were "doing something" about guns and they would be reasonably certain that such bullying will not get them killed. Unlike other some neighborhoods and victim-groups they might target.

This is all BS. The idea that anyone who wanted a firearm would not have at least half their stache unregistered to them is beyond naive. And few faults are more ruthlessly punished by Nature than being naive.

Because the first thing to understand about guns is that exist and do their work in the world of reality. Artificial, made-up categories of thinking and labelling are irrelevant. Guns are for situations where action is all that matters.

It is just silly to limit the disccussion to plastic, printable "zip" guns. Modern milling machines can work quickly in metal. Publicity seekers take the printable plastic gun meme.

Why Texans? Because many parts of Texas have excellent small scale manufacturing firms and there is an overwhelming sense here that making a high quality firearm is a righteous act.
I have a friend(cough) who has fabricated guns from crude parts and machine work. And I was never blown up. There are a few basic things to learn about metallugy but I would rate the difficulty of the project as less than learning to make decent beer. Zip guns were stupid. But so many Americans were poor and isolated in that time.
AMMo needs? Maybe 500 rounds a year for each duty/carry handgun. Maybe 100 a year for each rifle with a scope. More with iron.
Most of my guns are on the inactive list at any one time.
