Wasn't the idea that if the banks could boorow at low rates, they would then lend to businesses that would hopefully make profits and lead to hiring. Lending money to students at low rates would not promote economic activities since the students would spend hopefully leading to citizens who would pay higher taxes, but surely not in the short run or even in the long run if they graduates can find good paying jobs. I don't see the parallel.

I am getting an increasingly dim view of "higher education."

This would seem to have been predictable. The feminists and the liberals insisted. Granted the men should not be doing that. One of the pleas in the Lord's prayer was ignored, "Lead us not into temptation." Could the rap lyrics about raping women have anything to do with encouraging this? Men in uniform come from the body social of the United States? Could this behavior reflect the lowered standards of behavior in our society?

Also beating up women.

Isn't that a racist statement. Democrats claim to be anti-racist, at least, not about blacks or Latinos or Muslims. They claim not to be anti-Jew, but many seem to be anti-Israel.

It is likely that the rich who earned the wealth had more education and more interest in their children's education as well as providing examples and encouragement and expectations. Those rich by inheritance may have family tradition that promotes industry from pride. I think DNA counts.

Have government policies helped or hurt the housing market or the job market? I believe that they have hurt both.

Does head start improve education of those who attend it? Isn't it true that by the third or fourth grade, there is no difference between those who had Head Start and those who didn't. It may provide child sitting and a couple of meals for the children. Maybe that is worth while, but it would cheaper to do it some other way.

Blame everybody and everything but the perp. Bad behavior is often socialized or medicalized so the individual bears no responsibility for his or her acts. Personal responsibility is not politically correct.

The radical Islamic clerics evidently decide that any enemy of radical Islam is not innocent. Did not Mohammed say that, "He who kills an innocent, kills all innocents?"

He was not a real conservative and he made some bad calls, but I never thought that he had an agenda not to do the best he could for the U.S.

What was the percentage of out of wedlock births before 1929. What was it during the Great Depression? What is it now since the economic and social penalties for out of wedlock births have been decreased due to welfare, the sexual revolution, women's "lib," and decline in social behavior. Education or lack of it surely could play a part, but, in my view, these other elements are much more important. Is college now a hostile environment for young white men. Why are there more women in college than men? Men have been demeaned and down graded for years, e.g. Blondie, Maggie and Jiggs, Katz and Zammer Kids. How do young men without a high school diploma fare in the work force now? Especially if they are black or have heritage from Spanish speaking countries?
