Jackson says Myers then turned and fired at least three shots at the officer. The officer returned fire and started to move toward Myers, who was struck and killed. Police say a 9mm handgun reported stolen Sept. 26 was recovered at the scene. Three projectiles and ballistic evidence were found down the hill and a vehicle behind the officer had been hit by a bullet.
According to documents released by St. Louis Circuit Attorney Jennifer Joyce, Myers was charged over the summer with unlawful use of a weapon and resisting or interfering with an arrest/detention/stop.
The probable cause statement says in the early morning hours of June 27, Myers was a passenger in a vehicle that led police on a high-speed chase and crashed in the 1100 block of S. Grand. The documents state Myers got out of the vehicle, and started to run when an officer yelled at him to stop.
The documents allege Myers took out a loaded Hi-Point 380 caliber semi-automatic pistol he had concealed on his body and threw it in a sewage drain. He was taken into custody a short time later.
Good riddance scumbag, the world is surely a safer place without you in it.
They should give the officer a medal....
