Union Prez: Fix Obamacare Provision

In an op-ed in The Hill, the president of the 1.3-million member United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, Joseph Hansen, asked the Obama administration to fix an ObamaCare provision to protect multi-employer plans like the one his union members receive. "[A]s currently interpreted, the ACA would block these plans from the law's benefits (such as the subsidy for lower-income individuals and families) while subjecting them to the law's penalties (like the $63 per insured person to subsidize Big Insurance)," Hansen writes.

Everyone should remember the story of the 7 year old boy who wrote to Vice President Joe Biden about if chocolate ammo existed, that it would make the country safer. It was actualy nice that Joe Biden did reply back to his letter. After reading the story a couple of fun ideas came to mind. Could you really make a real chocolate bullet, what would they even do? The Shotgun rounds were made and the results even surprised me. The video is not making fun of the idea just a neat video actually testing the effects of a chocolate shotgun round. I thought the Gummie Bear candy round was cool, but this was pretty cool too.

Biden: Gun Control Push Coming this Fall

Vice President Joe Biden on Monday acknowledged what everyone involved in gun control has been saying privately for weeks: Any votes for expanded background checks must wait at least through the summer while the Senate debates immigration reform.

Biden offered the White House timeline to a group of about 20 representatives from faith-based organizations, three people who attended the meeting told POLITICO.

The vice president's words mark the first time the White House has revealed a timeline that has been widely discussed among gun control advocates and senior aides to senators who are pushing background checks.

Biden said Thursday that he "hadn't really discussed" his plans with Obama. White House press secretary Jay Carney on Friday reiterated that Biden is "a key player" in the White House gun control push but didn't respond to Biden's specific comments.

Man Beheaded in London Terror Attack

A man has been killed in a machete attack and two suspects shot by police in London. Prime Minister David Cameron said there were "strong indications that it is a terrorist incident" and the UK would "never buckle" in the face of such attacks. After police arrived they shot two suspects in the attack and they're being treated at a hospital for their injuries. Video on the ITV website shows a man wielding a bloodied meat cleaver, speaking to the camera and saying, "We must fight them as they fight us. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth I apologize that women have had to witness this today, but in our land our women have to see the same. You people will never be safe. Remove your government, they don't care about you."

Texas Announces Plans to Eliminate CSCOPE

It appears that the Texas has managed to remove the controversial curriculum management program called CSCOPE from the state's educational system. Texas State Senator Dan Patrick announced the move on Monday morning via a press release and press conference.

"I'm very pleased to announce this morning that the era of CSCOPE lesson plans has come to an end," he said.

During the press conference, Dr. Kyle Wargo, a board member of the Texas Education Service Center Curriculum Collaborative (TESCCC) -- CSCOPE's governing board -- made it clear: "CSCOPE is no longer doing lessons,period."

"One size does not fit all. Those lessons, every lesson, needs to be developed on a local level," he added.

Tax-exempt Obama Foundation doesn't exist

The "charity" run by President Barack Obama's half-brother that was fast-tracked for IRS tax-exempt status is based at a Virginia UPS store, according to its website.

The organization's IRS filings list another Virginia address that is actually a drug rehab center where the foundation does not appear ever to have been based.

The Barack H. Obama Foundation is run by Abon'go "Roy" Malik Obama, the half-brother of Barack Obama.

As first reported by The Daily Caller, the foundation was speedily approved for IRS exemption by Lois Lerner, the IRS senior official at the center of the targeting of conservative organizations that have waited over two years to receive tax exempt status

Home Robber Locks Owner in Gun Closet

The victim of an armed home invasion in Houston turned the tables on the intruders after they stuffed him in a closet where he stores his gun. Three men broke into a home Tuesday and assaulted the resident. After a brief scuffle, the perpetrators shoved the man into a closet. When the homeowner thought the burglars had left, he went downstairs and exchanged gunfire with one of the intruders, hitting him in the shoulder and leg. The wounded man, believed to be in his 20s, fled but did not get far before he collapsed. He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital for treatment.

So if I were investigating Benghazi, I'd be homing in on that 10 p.m. phone call. That's the one between President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton -- the one that's gotten close to zero attention.

We have heard almost nothing about what Obama was doing that night. Back in February, though, CNS News did manage to pry one grudging disclosure out of White House mendacity mogul Jay Carney: "At about 10 p.m., the president called Secretary Clinton to get an update on the situation."

Obviously, it is not a detail Carney was anxious to share. Indeed, it contradicted an earlier White House account that claimed the president had not spoken with Clinton or other top administration officials that night.

In a phone call to Coalition for Life of Iowa leaders on June 6, 2009, the IRS agent ‘Ms. Richards' told the group to send a letter to the IRS with the entire board's signatures stating that, under perjury of the law, they do not picket/protest or organize groups to picket or protest outside of Planned Parenthood," the Thomas More Society announced today. "Once the IRS received this letter, their application would be approved."

Second appeals court invalidates Obama's appointments

The 3rd Circuit case centered on decisions the NLRB made on the authority of three members including Craig Becker, who was appointed by the president on March 27, 2010, while the Senate was adjourned for two weeks.

The case was brought by a New Jersey nursing and rehabilitation center whose nurses were allowed to form a union by one such NLRB decision. The facility, New Vista, contended that the board's decision was invalid because it did not have enough members active when the decision was issued because the naming of Becker to the board was not a valid recess appointment.

The NLRB must have three members participate in a decision for it to be valid, and the court found that because Becker was not appointed during a break between sessions of Congress, he was not a valid member of the board and thus invalidated the NLRB's orders.

Honda Plans $70M Ohio Supercar Plant

Honda is planning a $70 million central Ohio factory opening in two years to produce the next-generation Acura NSX supercar. The Tokyo-based automaker said yesterday it will refurbish an existing facility in Marysville, Ohio, adjacent to its main North American auto-assembly plant and regional R&D center, to build the racing-style NSX. The factory, dubbed the Performance Manufacturing Center, will employ 100 veteran assembly workers. "The company wants to show they're really committed to this market by producing even their most advanced vehicles in the U.S.," said Alec Gutierrez, an industry analyst for Kelley Blue Book. "The original NSX certainly had a following in the U.S., and a lot of us are watching the progress of the new one closely."

Holder is clearly asked, "Mr. Holder, will you appoint a Special Counsel to investigate Benghazi?"

White House releases 100 pages of Benghazi e-mails

Following weeks of repeated requests from members of Congress and the media, the Obama administration on Wednesday released 100 pages of emails pertaining to the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi Libya.

Among the major takeaways from the White House's doc dump is the fact that CIA Deputy Director Michael Morrell is apparently responsible for editing the administration's talking points (i.e. changed attack to "violent demonstration").

CBO: Obamacare costs double to $1.8 trillion in ten years

Now, as implementation approaches, CBO has released projections for the 2014 to 2023 budget window -- the first actual decade of Obamacare -- and the gross cost projection is $1.8 trillion.

CBO now expects the Medicaid expansion to cover an additional 13 million people by 2023 (up 1 million from its February estimate) and the new government-run insurance exchanges to cover 24 million (1 million fewer than previously projected).

CBO estimates that under Obamacare, 7 million fewer people in the United States will have employment-based insurance by 2023.

The CBO's updated cost projections do not include an updated estimate of the effects of the law on the deficit. Previous CBO analyses have found that the law would reduce the deficit slightly, with curbs to the growth of Medicare spending and higher taxes more than offsetting the costs of expanding coverage.
