In an op-ed in The Hill, the president of the 1.3-million member United Food and Commercial Workers International Union, Joseph Hansen, asked the Obama administration to fix an ObamaCare provision to protect multi-employer plans like the one his union members receive. "[A]s currently interpreted, the ACA would block these plans from the law's benefits (such as the subsidy for lower-income individuals and families) while subjecting them to the law's penalties (like the $63 per insured person to subsidize Big Insurance)," Hansen writes.

Real Chocolate Ammo tested, results may surprise you!

Everyone should remember the story of the 7 year old boy who wrote to Vice President Joe Biden about if chocolate ammo existed, that it would make the country safer. It was actualy nice that Joe Biden did reply back to his letter. After reading the story a couple of fun ideas came to mind. Could you really make a real chocolate bullet, what would they even do? The Shotgun rounds were made and the results even surprised me. The video is not making fun of the idea just a neat video actually testing the effects of a chocolate shotgun round. I thought the Gummie Bear candy round was cool, but this was pretty cool too.

<wordzilla:extended>"Dear Vice President Biden, I have a great idea to help make our country safer, better and the best," Myles wrote. "I think guns should shoot out chocolate bullets. Then no one will get killed and no one will be sad."

This week, Biden responded with a handwritten letter:

"I am sorry it took me so very long to respond to your letter," Biden wrote in a letter that arrived at Nelson's school, Downtown Montessori Academy in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, on Monday. "I really like your idea. If we had guns that shot chocolate, not only would our country be safer, it would be happier. People love chocolate. You are a good boy."

Biden: Gun Control Push Coming this Fall

Vice President Joe Biden on Monday acknowledged what everyone involved in gun control has been saying privately for weeks: Any votes for expanded background checks must wait at least through the summer while the Senate debates immigration reform.
Biden offered the White House timeline to a group of about 20 representatives from faith-based organizations, three people who attended the meeting told POLITICO.
The vice president's words mark the first time the White House has revealed a timeline that has been widely discussed among gun control advocates and senior aides to senators who are pushing background checks.
Biden said Thursday that he "hadn't really discussed" his plans with Obama. White House press secretary Jay Carney on Friday reiterated that Biden is "a key player" in the White House gun control push but didn't respond to Biden's specific comments.

"He basically just said in general that these stakeholder meetings that if you put words into the vice president's mouth it sometimes comes out wrong and gets misquoted," said Shantha Alonso, the director of the poverty program at the National Council of Churches.

"He said it was off the record," Clark said. "What he did say was that he had had a meeting with another group and at some point in the past and he doesn't like being misquoted and he felt that stuff was said that wasn't accurate and he trusted that that wouldn't happen again."</wordzilla:extended>

A man has been killed in a machete attack and two suspects shot by police in London. Prime Minister David Cameron said there were "strong indications that it is a terrorist incident" and the UK would "never buckle" in the face of such attacks. After police arrived they shot two suspects in the attack and they're being treated at a hospital for their injuries. Video on the ITV website shows a man wielding a bloodied meat cleaver, speaking to the camera and saying, "We must fight them as they fight us. An eye for an eye, a tooth for a tooth I apologize that women have had to witness this today, but in our land our women have to see the same. You people will never be safe. Remove your government, they don't care about you."

Texas Announces Plans to Eliminate CSCOPE

It appears that the Texas has managed to remove the controversial curriculum management program called CSCOPE from the state's educational system. Texas State Senator Dan Patrick announced the move on Monday morning via a press release and press conference.
"I'm very pleased to announce this morning that the era of CSCOPE lesson plans has come to an end," he said.
During the press conference, Dr. Kyle Wargo, a board member of the Texas Education Service Center Curriculum Collaborative (TESCCC) -- CSCOPE's governing board -- made it clear: "CSCOPE is no longer doing lessons, period."
"One size does not fit all. Those lessons, every lesson, needs to be developed on a local level," he added.

<wordzilla:extended>Senator Patrick closed his remarks by thanking all parents who got involved in their children's education and the state's legislators who worked together to remove the controversial program from the education system.

In the past, CSCOPE had been linked to lessons such as asking if the Boston Tea Party was an act of terrorism.</wordzilla:extended>

Tax-exempt Obama Foundation doesn't exist

<wordzilla:destination>The “charity” run by President Barack Obama’s half-brother that was fast-tracked for IRS tax-exempt status is based at a Virginia UPS store, according to its website. The organization’s IRS filings list another Virginia address that is actually a drug rehab center where the foundation does not appear ever to have been based. The Barack H. Obama Foundation is run by Abon’go “Roy” Malik Obama, the half-brother of Barack Obama. As first reported by The Daily Caller, the foundation was speedily approved for IRS exemption by Lois Lerner, the IRS senior official at the center of the targeting of conservative organizations that have waited over two years to receive tax exempt status.
The "charity" run by President Barack Obama's half-brother that was fast-tracked for IRS tax-exempt status is based at a Virginia UPS store, according to its website.
The organization's IRS filings list another Virginia address that is actually a drug rehab center where the foundation does not appear ever to have been based.
The Barack H. <wordzilla:extended>The charity was even given retroactive tax-exempt status despite never having bothered to apply for it. And its history of soliciting donations before receiving tax-exempt status was apparently overlooked.

The address listed on the site barackhobamafoundation.org is 107 S. West St. #401, Alexandria, Va., which houses a UPS store on a street that includes a tailor, a Catholic Charities thrift shop and a Gold Works jewelry store.

"They probably just rent a mailbox here or receive mail here," said a UPS employee when asked if the store was the address for the Barack H. Obama Foundation. She did not know if Malik Obama, who his website says divides his time between Kenya and Virginia, had been in to the store.

The address listed in the group's IRS filings -- 4201 Wilson Blvd. Ste 110-152, Arlington, Va. 22030 -- is even more suspicious, as it is a marketing center for A Better Today Recovery Services -- a drug-and-alcohol treatment organization.

The victim of an armed home invasion in Houston turned the tables on the intruders after they stuffed him in a closet where he stores his gun. Three men broke into a home Tuesday and assaulted the resident. After a brief scuffle, the perpetrators shoved the man into a closet. When the homeowner thought the burglars had left, he went downstairs and exchanged gunfire with one of the intruders, hitting him in the shoulder and leg. The wounded man, believed to be in his 20s, fled but did not get far before he collapsed. He was taken to Ben Taub Hospital for treatment.

The 10 PM phone call.

      <wordzilla:destination>http://www.nationalreview.com/article/348677/10-pm-phone-call-andrew-c-mccarthy</wordzilla:destination>

So if I were investigating Benghazi, I'd be homing in on that 10 p.m. phone call. That's the one between President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton -- the one that's gotten close to zero attention.
We have heard almost nothing about what Obama was doing that night. Back in February, though, CNS News did manage to pry one grudging disclosure out of White House mendacity mogul Jay Carney: "At about 10 p.m., the president called Secretary Clinton to get an update on the situation."
Obviously, it is not a detail Carney was anxious to share. Indeed, it contradicted an earlier White House account that claimed the president had not spoken with Clinton or other top administration officials that night.

<wordzilla:extended>The earlier story better fit Obama's modus operandi, which is to disappear in times of crisis. His brief legislative career was about voting "present" because he prefers to be absent when accountability knocks. The idea is to be the Obama of Evan Thomas lore: "standing above the country, above -- above the world, he's sort of God." He reemerges only after the shooting stops and the smoke clears: gnosis personified, here to diagnose our failings. He is not a commander-in-chief for the battle but the armchair general of the post mortem.

In this instance, though, Carney's hand was forced by then-secretary Clinton. Testifying before the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in January, she recounted first learning at about 4 p.m. on September 11 that the State Department facility in Benghazi was under attack. That was very shortly after the siege started. Over the hours that followed, Clinton stated, "we were in continuous meetings and conversations, both within the department, with our team in Tripoli, with the interagency and internationally." It was in the course of this "constant ongoing discussion and sets of meetings" that Clinton then recalled: "I spoke with President Obama later in the evening to, you know, bring him up to date, to hear his perspective."

Yes, the 10 p.m. phone call.</wordzilla:extended>

IRS denied claim to pro-lifers due too Planned Parenthood

"In one case, the IRS withheld approval of an application for tax exempt status for Coalition for Life of Iowa. In a phone call to Coalition for Life of Iowa leaders on June 6, 2009, the IRS agent ‘Ms. Richards' told the group to send a letter to the IRS with the entire board's signatures stating that, under perjury of the law, they do not picket/protest or organize groups to picket or protest outside of Planned Parenthood," the Thomas More Society announced today. "Once the IRS received this letter, their application would be approved."

<wordzilla:extended>The IRS also pressured another pro-life group about its religious activities. "The IRS withheld approval of an application for charitable tax-exempt recognition of Christian Voices for Life, questioning the group's involvement with '40 Days for Life' and ‘Life Chain' events," according to the law firm. "The Fort Bend County, Texas, organization was subjected to repeated and lengthy unconstitutional requests for information about the viewpoint and content of its educational communications, volunteer prayer vigils, and other protected activities."

The IRS admitted last week to that some members of the agency targeted Tea Party groups for discriminatory reviews of their applications for tax-exempt status. The Justice Department has initiated a criminal investigation into the matter.</wordzilla:extended>

Second appeals court invalidates Obama's appointments

      <wordzilla:destination>http://www.politico.com/blogs/under-the-radar/2013/05/second-appeals-court-invalidates-obamas-nlrb-recess-164150.html</wordzilla:destination>

The 3rd Circuit case centered on decisions the NLRB made on the authority of three members including Craig Becker, who was appointed by the president on March 27, 2010, while the Senate was adjourned for two weeks.
The case was brought by a New Jersey nursing and rehabilitation center whose nurses were allowed to form a union by one such NLRB decision. The facility, New Vista, contended that the board's decision was invalid because it did not have enough members active when the decision was issued because the naming of Becker to the board was not a valid recess appointment.
The NLRB must have three members participate in a decision for it to be valid, and the court found that because Becker was not appointed during a break between sessions of Congress, he was not a valid member of the board and thus invalidated the NLRB's orders.

<wordzilla:extended>The opinion, written by Judge D. Brooks Smith, said the recess clause of the Constitution should be read not just to give the president executive power, but also to preserve the "advice and consent" role of the Senate.

In his dissent, Judge Joseph. A Greenaway Jr. said the majority's reading of the clause was needlessly narrow and ignored the Founding Fathers' intent to give the president the ability to act when the Senate is not available to "advise and consent."

The administration late last month petitioned the Supreme Court to overturn the D.C. Circuit Court's ruling on the issue.

The decision comes the same day that the Senate Help Subcommittee held a hearing on five nominations to the NLRB. Sen. Tom Harkin said they nominations would be moved next Wednesday.</wordzilla:extended>

The Tokyo-based automaker said yesterday it will refurbish an existing facility in Marysville, Ohio, adjacent to its main North American auto-assembly plant and regional R&D center, to build the racing-style NSX. The factory, dubbed the Performance Manufacturing Center, will employ 100 veteran assembly workers. "The company wants to show they're really committed to this market by producing even their most advanced vehicles in the U.S.," said Alec Gutierrez, an industry analyst for Kelley Blue Book. "The original NSX certainly had a following in the U.S., and a lot of us are watching the progress of the new one closely."

<wordzilla:extended>Honda, Japan's third-largest automaker, created the Acura brand for the U.S. in 1986 to expand its customer base in the company's biggest market. New models including the RLX luxury sedan and revamped MDX crossover are being added this year, ahead of NSX's return, to reverse a slide in Acura sales that in 2012 were 25 percent below the brand's peak of 209,610 in 2005.</wordzilla:extended>

Filmed on May 15 and provided to Breitbart News by Special Operations Speaks, the video shows Holder emerge from his car and walk towards the Rayburn House Office Building for hearings on the IRS scandal. Holder is clearly asked, "Mr. Holder, will you appoint a Special Counsel to investigate Benghazi?"
In equally clear tones, Holder answers, "No," and disappears into the building.

White House releases 100 pages of Benghazi e-mails

      <wordzilla:destination>http://thelead.blogs.cnn.com/2013/05/15/white-house-releases-100-pages-of-benghazi-e-mails/?hpt=hp_t1</wordzilla:destination>

Following weeks of repeated requests from members of Congress and the media, the Obama administration on Wednesday released 100 pages of emails pertaining to the Sept. 11, 2012, terrorist attack on the U.S. Consulate in Benghazi Libya.
Among the major takeaways from the White House's doc dump is the fact that CIA Deputy Director Michael Morrell is apparently responsible for editing the administration's talking points (i.e. changed attack to "violent demonstration").

      <wordzilla:extended>What the e-mails say

September 14, 2012

Page 6 (11:15 a.m.): The original talking points were sent by the CIA.

Page 12 (3:04 p.m.): Talking points were sent to the White House's Tommy Vietor (National Security Council spokesman) and Ben Rhodes (a top National Security aide).

Page 13 (3:27 p.m.): A top official with the CIA Office of Public Affairs says they're working on the talking points, and "will have further edits."

Page 15 (4:42 p.m.): CIA sends out a new draft for review before sending to the White House.

Page 21 (5:09 p.m.): A version of talking points is sent to the White House and the Office of the Director of National Intelligence at 5:09 p.m. This is the second draft of the talking points, when the reference to "attack" was changed to "demonstrations."

Page 26 (6:21 p.m.): The White House suggests adding the word "Cairo" to the first bullet point.

Page 28 (6:33 p.m.): Talking points are sent to the State Department. An administration official says the highlighted portions included the last sentence of the first bullet - "On 10 September we learned of social reports calling for a demonstration in front of Embassy CAIRO and that jihadists were threatening to break into the embassy."
A sentence in the second-to-last bullet was also highlighted. That sentence said "The Agency has produced numerous pieces on the threat of extremists linked to al Qaeda in Benghazi and eastern Libya."

Page 29-30 (6:41 p.m.; 6:43 p.m.): Office of the Director of National Intelligence proposes an edit: "I've been very careful not to say we issued a warning," wrote Shawn S. Turner (a spokesman).

Page 32 (6:52 p.m.): White House national security staff send around their own edits, namely to the second bullet.

Page 37 (7:39 p.m.): Then-State Department spokeswoman Victoria Nuland sends her e-mail flagging concerns about information contained in the bullet points revealing too much information.
She also questions the point about the CIA's previous warnings to the State Department about potential attacks in Benghazi.

Page 38 (7:51 p.m.): The FBI weighs in with questions on particular pieces of intelligence.

Page 48 (8:58 p.m.): CIA sends the latest draft in talking points, which they say take into account State Department and FBI
concerns.

Page 48-49 (9:24 p.m.): Nuland responds, saying the new draft's talking points "don't resolve all my issues or those of my building leadership. They are consulting w NSS."

Page 51 (9:25 p.m.): State Department Official Jacob Sullivan says "we'll work through this in the morning and get comments back."

Page 58 (9:44 p.m.): Department of Justice officials are added to the e-mail chain.

On the next day, a Saturday, officials from the State Department, CIA, FBI, the White House and the Justice Department convene at a "deputies meeting."

According to an administration official, the meeting was not focused specifically on Benghazi or Libya, but rather on the broad violence, prompted by the anti-Muslim video throughout the Middle East and North Africa. The meeting centered on keeping Americans safe.

Only at the very end were the talking points discussed, the administration official said.

The administration official said Morell relayed that he was aware of some interagency concerns about talking points, and noted he had his own concerns. He said he would take a crack at editing them and would send them to those attending the deputies meeting.

The administration official said then-Deputy National Security Adviser Denis McDonough thanked Morell. That was the total extent of the discussion of the Benghazi talking points at the meeting.

Page 63, From Saturday: after the meeting, Morell edited the document by hand. He reordered the talking points and struck out sections about CIA warnings to the State Department on possible demonstrations, and the outbreaks of violence in the region. He also removed the reference to Islamic extremists.

Page 64 (9:49 a.m.): Original CIA drafter says the edits Morell made are "fine with me. But, pretty sure HPSCI won't like them. :-)" HPSCI refers to the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.

Page 69-70 (11:08 a.m.) New draft of talking points is circulated to agencies for clearance.

Page 69-89 (11:12-12:43 a.m.): Officials from various agencies sign off on the talking points.

Page 74-76 (11:25-11:26 a.m.): Officials from the State Department and the White House National Security Staff ask to change the reference in the first bullet point from "US Consulate" to "diplomatic post."</wordzilla:extended>

CBO: Obamacare costs double to $1.8 trillion in ten years

      <wordzilla:destination>http://washingtonexaminer.com/cbo-obamacare-will-cost-1.8-trillion-in-first-decade/article/2529655</wordzilla:destination>

Now, as implementation approaches, CBO has released projections for the 2014 to 2023 budget window -- the first actual decade of Obamacare -- and the gross cost projection is $1.8 trillion.
CBO now expects the Medicaid expansion to cover an additional 13 million people by 2023 (up 1 million from its February estimate) and the new government-run insurance exchanges to cover 24 million (1 million fewer than previously projected).
CBO estimates that under Obamacare, 7 million fewer people in the United States will have employment-based insurance by 2023.
The CBO's updated cost projections do not include an updated estimate of the effects of the law on the deficit. Previous CBO analyses have found that the law would reduce the deficit slightly, with curbs to the growth of Medicare spending and higher taxes more than offsetting the costs of expanding coverage.
