<wordzilla:destination>http://www.opposingviews.com/i/society/witches-swaziland-banned-flying-broomsticks-higher-150-meters</wordzilla:destination>

In Swaziland, witches are forbidden to fly their broomsticks higher than 150 meters, and if they do, they are subject to arrest and a fine of R500 000 ($55,000 USD).Though it seems like a joke, witchcraft in the African country is taken seriously.

<wordzilla:extended>Civil Aviation Authority marketing and corporate affairs director Sabelo Dlamini forbid witches from flying high in the skies. He announced it in response to a question from the press about the arrest of Hunter Shongwe, who operated a remote-controlled drone with a video camera. He was using the drone to conduct a private investigation.

The principal of a violence plagued pilot school for grades K-8 in Roxbury, Mass., turned it around by reducing security so it could afford band, art and dance programs again. "We got rid of the security guards," said principal Andrew Bott. "A lot of my colleagues really questioned the decision," Bott said. "A lot of people actually would say to me, 'You realize that Orchard Gardens is a career killer? You know, you don't want to go to Orchard Gardens.'" Test scores have improved and it has one of the fastest student improvement rates in the state.

A Little League in California cancelled this weekend's baseball games after a parent fired a gun into the car of an opposing parent Wednesday. "Fired a weapon at a tee ball game. First of all, how do you bring a gun to a tee ball game and second, how do you fire it off?" said <a href="http://abclocal.go.com/kgo/story?section=news/local/north_bay&id=9072852">Anthony Spears</a>, a father of a player in North Vallejo Little League.
An ExxonMobil pipeline rupture near Little Rock, Ark., Friday evening has resulted in a "major oil spill," according to the Environmental Protection Agency -- and ignited further debate over the transportation of crude oil in the U.S. Up to 10,000 barrels sprang from the pipeline, according to an incident report filed to the National Response Center by ExxonMobil early Saturday morning. Twenty-two residents were evacuated from their homes, according to a statement on the ExxonMobil website.

Do You Really Want to Fix Education in America?

      <wordzilla:destination>http://www.cracked.com/article_20321_5-things-it-turns-out-you-were-right-to-hate-about-school.html</wordzilla:destination>

For many of you, school was 12 or more years of teachers and administrators deciding what was best for you, dictating exactly how you spent every minute of every day -- the result being that you absolutely hated each and every one of those minutes. But as you reached adulthood, you probably came to the realization that it was all for the best. You were just a stupid kid, after all, and your elders did things a certain way for a reason.
