Please stop helping the Republicans!

      <wordzilla:destination>http://www.drudge.com/news/113599/please-stop-helping-republicans</wordzilla:destination>

I feel it's about time I explain why I make the posts I do here. I am a liberal, I always have been and I always will be. I cannot personally vote for Obama because I find him to be a traitor to my ideals. I won't hold myself personally responsible if the Republican wins, but in order to have a clear conscience, I _cannot_ vote for Obama, either. Now:

<wordzilla:extended>The left wastes so much energy on stupid stuff like the Hockey story. It almost becomes a joy for me to try and rip this crap apart. Do you know why? Because you are not winning anyone over with crap like this story. Like I've been saying since the very beginning: ATTACKING PALIN ON STUFF THAT IS RIDICULOUSLY INACCURATE OR DOESN'T MATTER ONLY WINS HER SYMPATHY AND MAKES THE DEMOCRATS LOOK BAD.

She has plenty of real, legit issues to be attacked on, like misuse of taxpayer money to fund a religious agenda. (also linked at top)

http://www.drudge.com/news/113554/palin-billed-taxpayers-attend-religious

Do you know why I'm not over on that thread trying to defend Palin? Would anyone care to take a guess? That's right because it was AN INDEFENSIBLE ACTION. It is something that is a fair, legit and reasonable attack on Palin. We need to see a lot, lot, LOT more of these things to stop McCain and her.

Yet every day I log into the Retort and see crap like "Sarah Palin booed at a Hockey Game" and "Sarah Palin's husband tried to get a dirty cop fired" and "Sarah Palin's daughter is pregnant", and "Sarah Palin's child might be her grandchild" and "Sarah Palin believes in witches!" and "Palin says People and Dinosaurs walked the earth at the same time! I'm trying to defend her from stupid shit like this because STUPID SHIT LIKE THIS IS ONLY HELPING THE REPUBLICANS.

Do you know why I don't comment when the right does stupid things like try to senselessly tie Farrakhan to Obama? (except to rip on the NOI.. but hey, can you blame me? They're whackjobs) Because when Republicans do STUPID STUFF LIKE THAT IT ONLY MAKES THEM LOOK STUPID. I am inclined to look the other way when a Republican is being a bigoted moron because.. frankly? I want them to continue to be bigoted morons. Everyone here knows I don't like Obama and by no means feel he's worthy of being President, but I certainly don't want to _help the Republicans_. Why do all of you want so much for people to pity Sarah Palin? It's only going to backlash. Stop obsessing over her vagina, it's crass, stupid, childish, and it makes you look exactly like the Republicans did in the late 90's.

Stop helping the Republicans. Do you know why I want people like bOoB to shut up and go away until this election is over? Because whenever that nutcase opens his mouth, he _helps_ the Republicans. If an undecided voter gets it into his head that the likes of bOoB or Rastaninja are the face of Obama supporters, they are just going to vote for a Republican out of spite for the mentality they believe his followers have.

Let's take one of the recent headlines, one that is a total waste.

"Palin: People and Dinosaurs Coexisted"

All this story is _actually_ saying is that Palin is a Young earth Creationist. That is a viewpoint that many Christians hold in a sympathetic light, even if they don't agree with it. Do you know what most people are in this country? That's right. Christians. When you make a big honking deal about Palin having a Christian belief, you will _only_ feed the sentiment that Christians beliefs are oppressed in this modern world. The only people who _care_ that Palin is a Young Earth Creationist in a negative light ALREADY ARE NOT GOING TO VOTE FOR HER ANYWAY. To the average American, you are just piling on her in a mean-spirited fashion. I, personally, agree that YEC's are whackjobs. But I'm aware enough of my surroundings as a citizen of the primarily Christian America to understand that most people here are sympathetic to Christian religious beliefs, and attacking her on these matters will _only_ make her look better.

However, if you come out with something _useful_, like Palin using taxpayer money to attend religious gatherings, then you may sway some people. Many Americans are Christians who actually believe that religion and government should never meet. _That_ story does not help Republicans. It might even sway some undecided Christians.

That is what I've always gone for when defending Palin. To stop you fools from piling on to her so much that she gains even more sympathy.

In my spare time, I like to stir up the liberals and argue with them for sport. Would anyone care to guess why I don't bother doing that to Republicans anymore? I got a nice batch of chocolate chip cookies I just baked for my wife and I right here, and I'll give one to the first person who guesses correctly as to why I don't do that.

(Though I'd think the answer to that would be obvious by now due to the contents of this post, I can't look at my actions and say their intent is truly obvious to anyone but me)</wordzilla:extended>

"So at any given moment, I have five or six ghosts surrounding the house, all looking up at this haunted temple, and I'm in there." says the aging Cage. Cage bought the legendary Lalaurie Mansion last year which was constructed in the 1830s and it's reputedly the most haunted home in New Orleans.
