Boston Teacher's Union Wants Bad Teachers to Get Bonuses

The Boston Teachers Union staunchly opposes a performance bonus plan for top teachers - launched at the John D. O'Bryant School in 2008 and funded by the Bill and Melinda Gates and Exxon Mobil foundations - insisting the dough be divvied up among all of a school's teachers, good and bad.

Christmas will come early for a five year old Michigan boy this year. Noah Biorkman is battling cancer and is not expected to live much longer.

Noah's mother and WKSR morning personality Ed Carter went to school together years ago. They keep in touch by email. She mentioned the early Christmas for her son in an email to Ed today.

Criminals Use Permanent Markers to Disguise Faces

After two men with hooded sweatshirts and painted faces tried to break into a man's home in Carroll, Iowa, police found suspects Matthew Allan McNelly, 23, and Joey Lee Miller, 20, had painted their faces with permanent markers. "I've been chief here almost 25 years ... and I've seen a lot of things that make me laugh and weird things but this was probably the best," said the local police chief.
