US Army Suicides Approach New High

      <wordzilla:destination>http://www.bloomberg.com/notices/tos.html</wordzilla:destination>

The number of suicides among active- duty U.S. Army troops this year reached 133 in October, 18 more than in the same period last year and putting the service within reach of a new annual high.

<wordzilla:extended>1. What a bunch of racists. They can't handle having a black commander in chief so they kill themselves.
<p>2. Soldiers committing suicided, like the homeless, are only a huge concern to Liberals during Republican administrations. This article came out the 13th and now one has posted it to the DR yet until now.</wordzilla:extended>

Dems at risk of losing Obama's old Senate seat

      <wordzilla:destination>http://www.suntimes.com/news/sweet/1884123,CST-NWS-sweet15.article</wordzilla:destination>

WASHINGTON -- About a year ago, thousands jammed Grant Park in Chicago to celebrate Barack Obama's election to the White House, a communal civic defining moment. But those giddy days are long gone as Democrats in Illinois face the potential of losing the Senate seat President Obama once held next November.<p>The Illinois primary is Feb. 2, and the Democrat and Republican races are ripening, with the deadlines to file or withdraw nominating petitions now passed.

<wordzilla:extended>Democratic Party leaders in Washington -- and the Obama White House -- failed to recruit a candidate strong enough to scare Rep. Mark Kirk -- the Republicans' best bet -- from the race. The only luck they had was the decision by Sen. Roland Burris -- appointed by now-indicted former Gov. Rod Blagojevich to fill Obama's remaining term -- not to run to keep the seat.
<p>The chairman of the Democratic Party of Illinois -- Michael J. Madigan, the speaker of the Illinois House -- is the father of Attorney General Lisa Madigan, who rebuffed Obama and the Democratic Senatorial Campaign Committee when they wooed her for the Senate. Papa Madigan, more concerned with keeping his state House majority, doesn't really care who the senator is.</wordzilla:extended>

Why pro-choice Liberals should oppose Obamacre

      <wordzilla:destination>http://www.examiner.com/x-22698-Celebrity-Politics-Examiner~y2009m11d11-Jane-Fonda-on-StupakPitts-healthcare-addon-Antichoice-isnt-prolife-its-just-a-power-play</wordzilla:destination>

What Fonda didn't say -- and what should trouble conservatives about the amendment -- is that it represents exactly what they hate about goverment playing a big role in health care: dictating to citizens what medical procedures they may or may not have. It is the ultimate case of politicians interfering in matters that would otherwise be left to doctors and patients.<p>It seems totally obvious. <p>But conservatives are blind about that when it might possibly further their anti-choice agenda.

<wordzilla:extended>How ironic would it be that Liberals finally get the crown jewel of socialism, health care "reform" but it comes at a steep price, that being that abortion is not funded. And the article makes a good point, that true conservatives should be pro-choice because they shouldn't want the government to interfere in these matters.
<p>Now, regarding Jane Fonda's comments, she makes such outragesous comments and Roe v Wade isn't even threatened. Even if this bill passes with the amendment, women can still get abortions, their body, their choice their wallet. But of course, Liberals always want other people to pay for their choices so they equate lack of funding with lack of choice. Can you imagine how fun the rhetoric would get if there was a case in front of the SCOTUS that threatened Row v Wade? Boy, the political junkie in me would love to be alive to see that. LOL!</wordzilla:extended>

Detroit Getting New Daily Newspaper

      <wordzilla:destination>http://www.google.com/hostednews/ap/article/ALeqM5i3mvvJB8IUoDeBsGvvSZoUqMtVIQD9BUS1EO0</wordzilla:destination>

A new daily newspaper is being launched in the Detroit area, where the two largest newspapers have reduced home delivery to survive in a struggling industry. Brothers Mark and Gary Stern said Friday they'll start publishing the <i>Detroit Daily Press</i> on Nov. 23, selling it for 50 cents daily and $1 on Sundays. Home delivery starts Nov. 30 in Wayne, Oakland and Macomb counties.

<wordzilla:extended>Even though up till now Detroit has two major newspapers, the <i>News</i> and the <i>Free Press</i>, they are both owned by the same company, the Detroit Media Partnership so in essence Detroit is a one newspaper town. When they announced back in March that they were reducing home delivery I thought it was a good idea, but I am not happy with it. I hope to soon read in the new <i>Detroit Daily Press</i> that Media Partnerships files for bankruptcy. They have a shitty service and have been taking their customers for granted. No more. Like Comcrapt who now has to compete with the likes of U-Verse, there will finally be some free market capitalism and competition in this towns's newspaper business. I can't wait to call Detroit Media Partnership and tell them to go fuck themslvles with their lousy service.</wordzilla:extended>

      <wordzilla:destination>http://voices.washingtonpost.com/44/2009/11/13/napolitano_forecasts_immigrati.html</wordzilla:destination>

The Obama administration expects Congress to begin moving to overhaul the nation's immigration laws early next year, while improved border security and a drop in migration caused by the economic downturn make passage "far more attainable" than in 2007, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Friday.

<wordzilla:extended>The GOP has gained a lot of goodwill from many people by opposing Obamaare and Crap and Tax. It would be a shame if they lost some or all of that good will if they were to do something stupid, like say, oh, I don't know, supporting amnesty for illegal aliens. The GOP needs to know that if they are to have at least a chance of controlling the congress in 2010, they need to stand up for America and against amnesty for illegals.</wordzilla:extended>

      <wordzilla:destination>http://www.wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=115848</wordzilla:destination>

Judges on the U.S. Supreme Court are being asked to boot Hillary Clinton from her position as U.S. secretary of state in a lawsuit that charges her appointment violated the U.S. Constitution. Judicial Watch, the public interest group that monitors and investigates government corruption, confirmed it has filed a notice of appeal of its case to the nation's highest court. The lawsuit asserts Clinton is ineligible for the post because the Constitution, Article I, Section 6, states: "No Senator or Representative shall, during the Time for which he was elected, be appointed to any civil Office under the Authority of the United States, which shall have been created, or the Emoluments whereof shall have been encreased during such time."

      <wordzilla:destination>http://www.drudge.com/news/127097/secret-out</wordzilla:destination>

Yesterday I heard on the local news that Michigan lottery officials were concerned about people playing the number 1111 in the state's Daily 4 lottery game. Apparently, if that number won, they would have had to pay out $40 million. <p>Call me naive, but I wasn't aware that the lottery comission keeps track of what numbers people buy or don't buy. I think this is disturbing. When people go to a casino they are kicked out if they are found to be counting cards. Yet the sate can keep statistics on how many people buy which numbers? <p>

<wordzilla:extended>It seems to me there is a lot of room for manipulation here. I don't buy lottery tickets and now I have another good reason not to buy. I don't like being taken for a fool in a game where they could possibly be cheating. The lottery is a voluntary tax. According to Rush Limbaugh, it is the only way to get the poor to pay their fair share of taxes, lol! I am quite happy to let other people throw their money away in a game where the house always wine.
<p>I think the state should realease statistics as to how many people buy the lottery before and after there is a huge pot. If they know what numbers are bought, they can "make sure" that such numbers don't come out until a huge pot of money grows and then when a lot of people go out and buy lottery products, some lucky person wins is.</wordzilla:extended>

What seemed like an aberration now appears to be a troubling pattern.
