<wordzilla:destination>http://news.yahoo.com/s/space/20081128/sc_space/spectacularskyscenemondayevening</wordzilla:destination>

Every once in a while, something will appear in the night sky that will attract the attention of even those who normally don't bother looking up. It's likely to be that way on Monday evening, Dec. 1.
A slender crescent moon, just 15-percent illuminated, will appear in very close proximity to the two brightest planets in our sky, Venus and Jupiter.

The president and the first lady invited leaders of America's Jewish community for a Hanukkah reception at the White House next month -- but raised eyebrows by putting a picture of a Christmas tree on the invitation. The message reads that the couple "requests the pleasure of your company at a Hanukkah reception," written beneath an image of a Clydesdale horse hauling a Christmas fir along the snow-dappled drive to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Mitch Mitchell, drummer for the legendary Jimi Hendrix Experience of the 1960s and the group's last surviving member, was found dead in his hotel room early Wednesday. He was 61.

<wordzilla:extended>Mitchell was a powerful force on "Are You Experienced?" the 1967 debut album of the Hendrix band. He had an explosive drumming style that can be heard in hard-charging songs such as "Fire" and "Manic Depression." The Englishman had been drumming for the Experience Hendrix Tour, which performed Friday in Portland. It was the last stop on the West Coast part of the tour. Hendrix died in 1970. Noel Redding, bass player for the trio, died in 2003.</wordzilla:extended>

Latest rightwing e-mail smear: Snopes

      <wordzilla:destination>http://www.drudge.com/news/114113/latest-rightwing-e-mail-smear-snopes</wordzilla:destination>

Here's the latest rightnut e-mail smear:
"Read this all the way because it is what all people still able to think have
known for some time. Snopes is a fraud.

Read it and then try to imagine the level of deceit these left wing air head
are trying to push through to white wash their candidate and then wonder why
they have to do so.

I had run upon some snopes articles that seemed to "smudge " some
things.

This really explains a lot!!!"

      <wordzilla:extended>SNOPES

I have suspected some problems with Snopes for some time now, but I have only

caught them in half-truths.

I have recently discovered that Snopes.com is owned by a flaming liberal and

this man is in the tank for Obama. There are many things they have listed on

their site as a hoax and yet you can go to Youtube yourself and find the video

of Obama actually saying these things. So you see, you cannot and should not

trust Snopes.com....ever for anything that remotely resembles truth! I don't

even trust them to tell me if email chains are hoaxes anymore.

A few conservative speakers on Myspace told me about snopes.com

http://www.snopes.com a few months ago and I took it upon myself to do a

little research to find out if it was true. Well, I found out for myself that it

is true. This website is backing Obama and is covering up for him. They will

say anything that makes him look bad is a hoax and they also tell lies on the

other side about McCain and Palin.

Anyway, just FYI I suggest that you don't use Snopes.com anymore for fact

checking, and make your friends aware of their political leanings as well.

Many people still think Snopes.com is neutral and they can be trusted as

factual. We need to make sure everyone is aware that that is a hoax in itself.

A better source for verification is"Truth or Fiction.com " at

http://www.truthorfiction.com/

Terrorist strikes on four American cities. Russia rolling into Eastern Europe. Israel hit by a nuclear bomb. Gay marriage in every state. The end of the Boy Scouts. All are plausible scenarios if Democrat Barack Obama is elected president, according to a new addition to the campaign conversation called "Letter from 2012 in Obama's America," produced by the conservative Christian group Focus on the Family Action.

      <wordzilla:destination>http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20081018/ap_on_el_ge/fraud_or_foolishness</wordzilla:destination>

The stories are almost comical: Mickey Mouse and Donald Duck, registered to vote on Nov. 4. The entire starting lineup of the Dallas Cowboys football team, signed up to go the polls in Nevada.
But no one in either presidential campaign is laughing. Not publicly, anyway.

<wordzilla:extended>Republicans, led by John McCain, are alleging widespread voter fraud. The Democrats and Barack Obama say the controversy is preposterous and is just political mudslinging.</wordzilla:extended>
