The disappointment of the Democratic party over the last four years has got to be the Pelosi woman. Just what will the new President-elect have/need to do to start a fire under her posterior and start getting the things done that were expected of her. Will she step down in favor of a new more activist member? What do you think Obama should do?

LONDON (Reuters) - A Chinese herbal remedy called horny goat weed is a promising alternative to Viagra for impotent men, Italian researchers said on Monday. On the DR we have our own Satyr, OK Goatman. What does he know that we don't. Chinese homeopathic cure have in many instances proven as good as the expensive prescription versions. A quick visit to the apothocary may be your answer.

Ailing Medicaid Recipients Forced into Nursing Homes

      <wordzilla:destination>http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080921/ap_on_he_me/medicaid_lawsuit_10</wordzilla:destination>

Medicaid recipients across Florida are challenging the nightmare of the old and disabled: to be forced from comfort and familiarity into a nursing home. They say the state is illegally forcing them to live in nursing homes when they should be able to live where they choose. Advocates charge that nursing homes, afraid of losing money, have successfully pressured politicians to make qualifying for community care more difficult.

<wordzilla:extended>From personal experience I can testify that this is true. The institutions do have a need to protect themselves from potential legal problems. There are large numbers of patients capable of living in alternate housing options.
<p>In the state of California, there is no provision for long term (or short term) care in any facilities other than a full hospital or skilled nursing facility. Due to their nature, such locations must impose considerable limitations on outside excursions of any kind. Additionally, such facilities are far more expensive than the "assisted living" homes or the less comprehensive "board and care". The full service hospital is far too expensive to even consider for long term care even if they had the beds. The skilled nursing homes charge just under $6000.00 per month. That brings the cost to the tax payers of around $67,000.00 per year per patient. The assisted living homes are around half of the cost for the well known "convalescent" hospital. The additional freedoms in the assisted living atmosphere would aid so many that are trapped and restricted in nursing homes. Why? Because state law makes no provision for such care. It is skilled nursing or nothing. We as taxpayers would save nearly half if such care were approved.</wordzilla:extended>

Fond du Lac, Wisc., resident Don Gorske, 54, has eaten his 23,000th Big Mac, a world record he credits to obsessive-compulsive disorder. "I promised myself I would eat a Big Mac every day no matter how bad things got," he said. "The best thing of the whole day was the Big Mac."

<wordzilla:extended>This poor man claims to have proof of his suicidal eating disorder, he kept all of the receipts. He also kept several pounds of heart clogging "gook" in his system. He will probobly out live all of us just for spite. The article makes no mention of his weight but some significant portion of those pounds may just come from an enlarged, over worked heart.</wordzilla:extended>

Just where does the constitutional separation of church and state leave off. Ms. Palin seems to bring an even stronger influence of biblical teaching to the candidacy(at least). How much direct input from the secular is OK? With Shrubbie speaking and hearing from God all by himself, is a potential VP perhaps even more so inclined acceptable?
