Chambliss: "The Other Folks Are Voting"

      <wordzilla:destination>http://www.huffingtonpost.com/2008/10/31/chambliss-the-other-folks_n_139725.html</wordzilla:destination>

"There has always been a rush to the polls by African-Americans early," he said at the square in Covington, a quick stop on a bus tour as the campaign entered its final week. He predicted the crowds of early voters would motivate Republicans to turn out. "It has also got our side energized, they see what is happening," he said.

<wordzilla:extended>The magic 60-seat Senate majority could hang on this result. I personally would sacrifice that to see Chambliss defeated. But I'll take the 60-seat majority too.
<p>What he did to Max Cleland in 2002 was unforgivable. He used ads that suggested that Cleland, a triple amputee from Vietnam, was not a "patriot", morphing Cleland's face into that of Bin Laden and Saddam Hussein. Despicable. It was at the height of the Bush/Cheney fever to get enough votes to go to war with Iraq. Chambliss got his Senate seat and Bush got his war. Time for Georgia to co0rrect this. Please.</wordzilla:extended>

Humane Society Group Endorses Obama

      <wordzilla:destination>https://community.hsus.org/humane/notice-description.tcl?newsletter_id=27497157</wordzilla:destination>

The Humane Society Legislative Fund has endorsed a presidential candidate for the first time in its history, choosing Barack Obama in part because of Sarah Palin's "extreme" positions on animal welfare issues. "Her record is so extreme that she has perhaps done more harm to animals than any other current governor in the United States," fund president Mike Markarian writes.

<wordzilla:extended>"Palin engineered a campaign of shooting predators from airplanes and helicopters, in order to artificially boost the populations of moose and caribou for trophy hunters," Markarian writes. "She offered a $150 bounty for the left foreleg of each dead wolf as an economic incentive for pilots and aerial gunners to kill more of the animals, even though Alaska voters had twice approved a ban on the practice."</wordzilla:extended>

After originally claiming that Sarah Palin has visited Ireland, Germany, Kuwait, and Iraq, the McCain campaign has acknowledged that she never entered Iraq on a border trip to Kuwait and her time in Ireland only consisted of a plane's refueling stop.
