Once criminals become rich enough they go mainstream, underwriting Politics, Wall Street and bullshit media hype.

The country is owned almost entirely by old money, mostly organized criminals including the mafia, ministers far removed from Christs teachings, and foriegners. These people are all criminals at heart, including the Bush, Cheney, Faud, Marcos, Putin...... Saddam Hussein committed most of his crimes at the behest of the USA. Both Hussein and binLaden have been on the CIA payroll.

And the sad truth is that clueless Americans keep electing criminals to office time after time. Instead of venting at what they asked for, they should take responsibility for being so stupid.

It is time to stop tax deductions to churches, render unto Ceasar.

"Religious" institutions should be deprived of their special tax regulations. A perfect violation of the intent of Separation of Church and State.

In this case, they should lose their standing as a Non-Profit Corporation. In other words, their Corporate Charter should be dissolved. Our Deist founding Fathers specifically provided that Corporations should have fewer legal rights than individuals. But, only one New York Corporation has ever been dissolved for illegal behavior. Usually, an individual is targeted and/or a meaningless fine is imposed. If the Charter were dissolved for criminal activity, strict internal controls would quickly be imposed across the board.

To the extent Churches create community, even segregated communities, and especially socialist programs which our Government refuses to undertake, they should be tax exempt. Where they venture into business, they should be subject to the same rules as any other business, pay taxes on their profits.

I saw this clown, Roberts, on TV with his claim that God told him, "We live in a LIT-i-guss society". Gosh, you'd think God would know how to pronounce "litigious", wouldn't you?
I'll be happy when people give up imaginary friends, like Jesus and God, and quit lining the pockets of these scammers! At the very least, these con artists should pay taxes like other Big Business firms do.

Actually, it's about 200 years overdue. These things are nothing more than tax-exempt social clubs. I consider being physically fit to be a religion to me. Does that mean I get to deduct my gym fees from my income?

Back in the Reagan years I lived and worked for three years in Tulsa, OK, proud home of ORU. Stories like this were common, they even made the local press and TV occasionally. I seem to remember one about thousands of letters minus the money they contained being found in the ORU trashbins or somewhere. Among us unbelievers the joke was if ORU stands for Oral Roberts University, does OSU stand for Oral Sex University? You had to be careful where you said it though. The God Squad and the Thought Police were very active.
