Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Microsoft Corp. launched a Web site Thursday for managing personal health and medical information, but privacy advocates worry that neither the technology nor U.S. law will protect patients' most confidential details.

It's about damn time!

Hopefully one day people will be able to carry their medical histories and info in ipod like devices. Theres is nothing more annoying thant having to fill out medical history forms every time you go to a new doctor or every year to update your chart.

Health care administration is stuck in the 1800s, still bureaucratic, still paper-based, no wonder health care is so damn expensive. Every time you go to a doctor's office the receptionist look at you funny because you interrupt them from the gossiping they do all day. Hopefully this technology will lead to streamlining and downsizing in health care administration.

Why is for example, that people can't log in to website and schedule their own apporintment? Why do we have to pay someone else to do it for us? And why are scripts still paper-based and full of cruptic chicken scratches? Is this any way to run a moder 21st century health care system? Certainly not.

"Good evening citizen, can I see some ID, please?"

"What are you doing here, in this area, citizen? Not looking for any trouble, are you?"

"Oh? Just seeing friends? Can I see your bio data and medical record, please, sir?"

"So? You're over your marijuana addiction, are you? Looks like you've tried speed, pot, and ecstacy, your hair sampling here says ...?"

"Please hold out your hands ... now put them behind your back. You're going in for further questioning and sampling to assure you've not damaged your health."

Welcome to the machine.

I lament, I was born to late.

I was born at least 100 years too late, maby even 175 years.

You could have been dead for the last 169 years.

I was born at least 100 years too late, maby even 175 years.

I shouldn't've been born at all.

The meals they serve you on the rig can't be THAT bad.

I shouldn't've been born at all.

That thought makes my inner cute puppy sad.

Totally off topic here, Goatman, but I was wondering how much you know about finishing salts?

Please don't ever say that again. It makes me sad.

Should have just stayed on the inter-galactic highway and taken the Andromeda exit instead of the Milky Way.

The meals they serve you on the rig can't be THAT bad.

Tonight the yucca root was mashed, like potatoes and the plantains were steamed with minced chilis. They tried some sort of fish lasagna crap that just didn't cut it. They put out corny dogs and they went like hotcakes -- which is something else we haven't seen, either.

On top of that, my cabin hasn't been cleaned in the three days I've been here. And this outfit is supposed to be 5 star. 5 out of 100, I think!

Totally off topic here, Goatman, but I was wondering how much you know about finishing salts?

Nothing at all, Trees. I don't even know what they are. Is it a culinary thing?

Sorry for the bad joke that caused sadness.

I did like Coyote's reaction to it, though. I think he he's right! *grin*

Check them out,
here.

Until recently I had no idea there were so many different kinds of sea and finishing salts! Costco has a sampler that I'm thinking about buying.

Until now I've only used smoked salt or regular table salt.

shouldn't use too much salt; bad for you.

This is frightening- Microsoft wanting our health records. What will Bill Gates want next- our souls?

Once ADSX, DOC, Microsoft and the U.S. Government announce their partnership, it is time to move to Costa Rica.
