Radio shock jocks Opie and Anthony, in a controversy likely to test both the post-Don Imus radio landscape and the lack of government censorship of satellite radio, played along with a guest Wednesday who expressed his desire to physically abuse and have sex with Secretary of State Condoleeza Rice and First Lady Laura Bush.

No wonder the guys homeless-he's lost his freakin' mind!
"Pickles"? Queen Elizabeth?(Well-maybe-back in the '50s-when she was a babe...)Dinda Sleazy rice?

Somebody PLEASE euthanize that poor bastard before he spreads his stupidity germs around.........

Give me a break. It's really getting pathetic when even these guys are apologizing for their show - Opie and Anthony have done and said far more offensive things than this. XM is a pay service, it's like cinemax apologizing for showing porn.

This is XM. Everyone who has the service, especially while listening to these guys, knows it is subject to very crude humor. These guys should get right back on the air, discuss even cruder subjects, and tell everyone else to go screw themselves. After all, most of this outrage comes from people who don't even have the service or listen to thier program. These guys should appologize for nothing.

www.breitbart.tv

If ya don't wanna listen to it, don't purchase it.

The queen, the parrot and the stepford wife.

Oh yeah! Now I'm hard.

How could they have pulled this off without Doug Stanhope?

This seems RIGHT up his alley.

Tasteless, but don't listen if it offends you.

Gives new context to "Vast Wasteland".

And yet this guy left Barbara Bush off his list? I'm beginning to question his taste. And what's Harriet Miers - chopped liver?

Ooohhh! Babs!

She should definitely be there!

It's the idea of having sex with Condi that I find most offensive

No, it's the idea of receiving ORAL sex from Condi that would be frightening.

Reading these posts I was left wondering what the response from the DR Left would have been if Rush or Hannity (over air or on a pay service) had been talking about raping Nancy Pelosi and f*#king Hillary Clinton to death.

I don't care if it is a pay service, there is no place for someone condoning the rape and murder of women, even in jest.

Well, considering that both Ruuuuush and Lil Sean are both closet gays, I really dont think either one would say it.

I don't care if it is a pay service, there is no place for someone condoning the rape and murder of women, even in jest.

Sure there is.

Ever see a woman raped by a circus clown?

I know it sounds mean, but it is really fucking funny.......

O&A don't "Pretend" to be "NEWS casters" so your example carries no water.

Ever see a woman raped by a circus clown?

Hey, Pennywise needed an outlet too!

"It's really getting pathetic when even these guys are apologizing for their sho"

This isn't the first time. In fact, my first reaction was that they've apologized for shit like this so many times that it is all meaningless. Why apologize then go do the same thing to someone else?

I think they should apologize to XM customers for not being funny. When I used to have a longer commute, I'd put the free portion of the show on once in a while and couldn't believe that all these people kiss their ass and treat them like these comedy gods. I have a very dark/crude sense of humor myself. But these guys just seem to think that any crude statement is automatically funny whether or not there is any humor one can identify in their statement. I don't get it. Their listeners remind me of small kids who just laugh when they hear a word like "crap" regardless of context.

So you listened to the free part of the show?

Just once I'm guessing.

Itsme and mpaths:

Oh, I get it, because these guys are trying to be funny its okay.

Nice justification, let's see you use it the next time MAnn Coulter makes a joke about killing all liberals...after all, she isn't even pretending to be a "NEWS caster."

I would be interested to see what take Lisa, Pville, Murphy and Danni have on this.

Ann is a Comedian?

Comedians tell 'JOKES'. O&A are considered "SHOCK COMICS".

Fuck YOU is you can't take a joke.

YEAH!

They should have prefaced the skit with the term "Somebody's Got to Say It" as to make it acceptable to the Fake Plastics!

Maybe call them "nappy headed" and such! They love that shit!

I would be interested to see what take Lisa, Pville, Murphy and Danni have on this.

I guess there's ONE of ya.

Mpaths-

I never said that MAnn is a comedian, but used her as an example of the absurity of your 2:49 PM response. Sorry that I struck a nerve.

Redcocosamiamvile-

How would that possibly make it acceptable to anyone, plastic or otherwise?

Couldn't take the joke huh?

See 3:08 post.

I don't listen to Opie & Anthony, even though I've been an XM subscriber for years. The main reason I reported on this was to cover exactly what was said on the air, which the media is dodging today with euphemisms.

It's in hugely bad taste and I expect it will get them fired from both XM Radio and their CBS-owned radio station within a week.

It would be better, though, if their listeners dealt with stuff like this by raising hell with them when they take it too far. Letting outside groups lop off heads is just going to encourage major media gutlessness.

" to encourage major media gutlessness."

How much more gutless can the major media be?

RCade,

I agree with much of what your saying. I just don't think XM will cut them. I think RoC is on point with some of the hypocrisy. They didn't just go after women, they went after women of the opposite side. I couldn't imagine any womans group coming to the defense of a Bush. But we'll see how much attention this draws.

"So you listened to the free part of the show?

Just once I'm guessing."

A few times. Took me a while to realize their was really no comedy included in their schtick.

Norton was funny sometimes but the other guys are pretty much useless.

It's in hugely bad taste and I expect it will get them fired from both XM Radio and their CBS-owned radio station within a week.

If so, they'll be on Sirus the within a month.

There is no such thing as bad publicity. I bet they gain listeners instead of lose them.

There is a lot worse things being said on comedy tours across this nation.

I could track them down and post them here if you'd like.

Oh wait, I already do.

Thunk!

Thunk!

yawn...

The Lady Doth Protest Too Much

or

Much Ado about nothing

pretty much covers it for me...

Norton was funny

I second that!

See, it gets a lot worse:

Jim Norton owns you all with this list o' lists:

The 50 funniest moments in child pornography.

Women over 60 I've raped with a meat cleaver.

The 5 snappiest remarks I've made while videotaping a miscarriage.

My favorite 3 scenes in The Shining to masturbate to.

The 10 lamest excuses my girlfriend ever gave for not eating my ass.

Pet names for my penis that rhyme with cesspool.

My favorite Scriptures to read aloud while teabagging a retarded girl.

Entire List

If so, they'll be on Sirus the within a month.

Not when XM and Sirius are trying to merge and need federal approval.

If XM was still competing with Sirius, they might decide to profit from the controversy of airing something that would be radioactive to terrestrial radio.

But a long line's forming in DC to climb up their ass. They have to be sweating bullets over this. It would be funny if a homeless guy killed a multimillion-dollar radio merger.

I've said it to my kids, I've said it to my friends...we already have the most effective censorship equipment in the universe..it's called a channel tuner. Don't like what is on a particular radio or TV station? CHANGE THE CHANNEL! How difficult is that? Don't want your child to watch a particular show or listen to a particular radio program? TURN OFF THE SET!!!!! Or change the channel! These guys are apparently known for their revoting 'sense of humor' and those people who listen to them know what to expect. Don't like 'em? Don't listen to 'em!

hmm, let me think...it is a paid for service...you have to pay for it to listen to it...

So it is like renting a porn, then getting upset becuase it is porn, and then wanting the video store, who rented it to you, to go out of business...

retards.

I hope enough O&A followers will do the same as I do and write to XM telling them they will cancel if O&A are fired. I've had enough of a vocal minority dictating how very large groups of people are entertained... O&A is the most listened to show on XM and they need to do a quick ball check and hopefully stand by these guys.

I see some posts saying its over the top, and never okay, and that it was wrong to say it... don't fucking listen... its a pay service that's not FCC regulated... God this country is full of such whiny prepubescent girls.

I would bet any amount of money that everyone here who is upset and crying and whining has rarely if ever listened to Opie and Anthony.

What is so pathetic about your lives that you need to try to take away the entertainment of millions of people? What, your life is sad and humorless so you feel the need to go around making sure everyone else is the same? Pathetic...

If so, they'll be on Sirus the within a month.

Not when XM and Sirius are trying to merge and need federal approval

They've said many times on the show that if they get fired they will not return to radio... they'd just take the payout and retire.

O&A provide a little joy to a lot of people, and that might get taken away... This country is really going down the toilet...

I would be interested to see what take Lisa, Pville, Murphy and Danni have on this.

do you really think they would take offense when you were talkin bout rightwing women---kinda shows you where their at don't it---you can rape women they don't approve of

Holy crap that was hilarious.

I've gotta check out more Jim Norton. I've heard one standup when he went through the things he'd do to Britany Spears (back when she was attractive) and it was funny as well.

I don't see the big deal with this. I remember when O&A were kicked out of Boston for claiming mayor Menino was dead on April Fool's day. I understand that because it was on public radio, but if you're gonna censor pay-radio, where do you stop?

I'm not an O&A fan, but as long as it's on pay-radio, they shouldn't be censored. IT WAS A JOKE! They obviously weren't seriously contemplating the act. You don't like? Then don't listen. Simple as that...

I've gotta check out more Jim Norton.

Did you ever watch the HBO series Lucky Louis? He was on that too... it was a really good show that unfortunately wasn't picked up for a second season...

IT's no wonder Norton got kicked off of Last Comic Standing.

"Scheduling conflict........"

Yeah, RIGGGGGHHHHHHHHT!!!!

All these punks need is a one good ass kicking. Filmed for myspace!

many: that list was a scream.

This is a tough one.

On one hand:
1.) It is a pay service.

2.) Clearly they were not seriously promoting the behavior.

3.) The show is not subject to any regulation.

4.) They violated no law.

5.) They are free to say what ever they like.

On the other hand:
1.) Many people including myself find the humorization of rape repugnant.

2.)The people who are upset by this generally aren't thinking about who was being talked about as much as they are objecting to what was being talked about.

3.)Those of us that object to this kind of humor can simply choose not to tune in. We don't need to pull a Jack Thompson when we can choose not to listen to material we find offensive.

4.)If this kind of "humor" is the MO for Opie and Anthony, why is this particular incident becoming such an issue? Did they cross a line?

And finally, to any rightnut kool aider that thinks the left feels it's okay because of who the targets were.

Screw you.

Hey treehugger , don't use my sign-on in vane .

4.)If this kind of "humor" is the MO for Opie and Anthony, why is this particular incident becoming such an issue? Did they cross a line?

It is theie MO... in fact this particular incident was tame by their standards... the only reason this is an issue is because CBS caved to other whiney losers and fired Imus so now news groups are going to continue driving this type of story anytime they can.

O&A are major league assholes. They had a paranoid schizophrenic woman on the show who thought that she was having a baby with one of the hosts, and the other was her father.

They spent the few minutes I listened to them telling this obviously nuts woman that her baby was the anti-christ and that she should dig it out. I forget everything else they said, but they were things you do not say to a crazy person, even in jest.

I forget everything else they said, but they were things you do not say to a crazy person, even in jest.

Ah... respect for the 1st amendment...

You'd think there'd be more of it on a site where anyone can voice any opinion... a site that wouldn't exist without the first...

Don't like O&A, don't listen to them... but I and millions of Americans (and Canadians) love their show... your opinions are noted, now let it go, because it doesnt concern you.

Reading these posts I was left wondering what the response from the DR Left would have been if Rush or Hannity (over air or on a pay service) had been talking about raping Nancy Pelosi and f*#king Hillary Clinton to death.

I was wondering how their fans would react. I think they would be applauding them. Imagine the phone calls. Ditto Rush. You're a great American Shawn.

Officially, American doesn't have royalty. But judging by the way so many Americans put politicians on a pedestal, you would think we do. I wouldn't be offended by any derogatory remarks about them, no matter how tasteless.

As a bleeding heart liberal Democrat I can only post a comment express my TOTAL DISGUST!!!

Ah... respect for the 1st amendment...

Where does the constitution say O&A MUST be paid to say this crap?

Where does the constitution say O&A MUST be paid to say this crap?

Firing them for this "crap" is a violation of the first amendment... firing Imus was a violation... this is going far beyond slippery slope and turning into a cliff some are walking over willingly.

Keep going down this road... keep judging what is acceptable and what is not... someday soon maybe your thoughts and words will be judged "crap."

The first amendment states "the Governement shall make no law abridging the right of free speech" they can say what they want, and anyone can fire them. The government is not firing them. I always love the free speech defendents of Liberals but want Ann Coulter silenced...You are truly the Nazis' the "tolerant and compassionate" Nazis..what a magnificent ruse..

Connorpeterson0 Wrong. THe radio stations can choose to fire anyone for almost any reason...especially if they dont take govt money. It's all about the sponsors and the revenue.

If you think otherwise, you're kidding yourself.

Godwin award for Hillbillyjihad. I don't want ann silenced, i think it's great when she speaks whats really in your shallow disgusting little minds. More ann, please. She hurts the GOP everyime she opens her piehole.

"Firing them for this "crap" is a violation of the first amendment... firing Imus was a violation... " - Connor

I disagree. The First Amendment guarantees the right to say it. There is, however, no "right" to be heard. More to the point, there is no "right" which says they are awarded carte blanche to say whatever they wish while on someone else's dime.

If they want to publish a paper and say that stuff - fine. If they want to form their own network - fine. But their employers are VERY MUCH within their rights to NOT continue to pay them and to give them the public forum to speak their words.

In the same light, Limbaugh is free to stand on the street corner and say his words. There is no first amendment guarantee that gives him the right to broadcast to millions. If his employers/sponsors told him to take a hike, he's gone.

Along with the freedom to speak your mind comes a responsibility, too.

The First Amendment guarantees the right to say it. There is, however, no "right" to be heard. More to the point, there is no "right" which says they are awarded carte blanche to say whatever they wish while on someone else's dime.

Exactly. There is no constitutional right for me to get paid by a radio station to say whatever I want.

Freedom comes with repsonsibility, you read my mind, oohrah.

If O&A go, so does my XM subscription.

I listen to the show when I can and I'm your typical fan. I've never called in and would not show up to see them if they were next door signing autographs, but this is XM and if they're going to pull this shit, then someone else can have my cash.

First Imus get fired, which was way out of line for the remarks he made and now O&A are being nominated for a national electronic lynching and today on MSN there's an article about another pair of shock jocks who've gotten shit-canned.

entertainment.msn.com

"

"The Dog House with JV and Elvis," hosted by Jeff Vandergrift and Dan Lay, "will no longer be broadcast," CBS Radio spokeswoman Karen Mateo said Saturday.

The cancellation of the show on WFNY-FM, nearly three weeks after the hosts were suspended, was another indication of the increased scrutiny on radio hosts and the heightened management sensitivity to complaints in the wake of the Imus firing.

CBS Radio dismissed Imus in April for his racist and sexist remarks about the Rutgers women's basketball team.

Vandergrift and Lay broadcast a call to a Chinese restaurant in which the caller, in an exaggerated accent, placed an order for "shrimp flied lice," claimed he was a student of kung fu, and compared menu items to employees' body parts.

Racist? Yeah.
Insensitive? Yeah.
Funny? Not so much.
Hate speech? Not a fucking chance.

Asian groups complained and this is the slipery slope were on now, if Imus can get fired for his remarks then the Asian community leaders think it these guys need to go.

Calling up a Chinese restaraunt an ordering "Egg flied lice" is not advocating violence towards an identifiable group.

It's just dumb.

Knee jerk firings like in the case of Imus, and now these two spazz-monkeys, are a sign that free speech is in decline.

The proposed merge betwen Sirius and XM is part of that decline.

Spud don't find shock jocks all that funny.

Spud finds censorship not funny at all.

Be Well.

If you think this is about the First Amendment, you really need to go back to school. Not all speech is protected. Don't believe it, talk to the kid in Alabama that jokingly alluded to the demise of the hildebeast. Or for those here, threaten the President's life and see what happens. There is a whole string of case law that confirms the First Amendment is not a license to recklessly say whatever comes into your mind.

Note to the attorney defending the young college student in Alabama. He needs to say he was misunderstood. He said hildebeast HUMPING, not hunting. I guess that is not a federal crime....a crime against God and nature maybe...disgusting to even consider - definitely.

If a sex rant against Condi Rice offends her a tenth as much as her lies to initiate a horrendous and pointless war offends me, ... well then thats a start. When she is burning in hell someday, a few sex jokes will seem mild compared to what she will experience.

Asian Slurs End Shock Jocks' Show on CBS
May 12, 2:39 PM EST

One month after CBS Radio fired radio host Don Imus, it has permanently pulled the plug on a pair of suspended New York shock jocks for a prank phone call rife with offensive Asian stereotypes.

Vandergrift and Lay broadcast a call to a Chinese restaurant in which the caller, in an exaggerated accent, placed an order for "shrimp flied lice," claimed he was a student of kung fu, and compared menu items to employees' body parts.

Just like "Nappy Headed Ho", it was a joke! GET OVER IT!!

As am XM subscriber I do not want my subscription money being used to promote violence against women. They may have a right to say whatever they want but they DO NOT have a right to joke about sexually assualting women. XM radio should charge a separate fee for listeners who want to hear that kind of talk. I should not be forced to give up quality programming because of a few
sleazeballs.
