Self-Defense in Switzerland

Switzerland has year after year turned in one of the world's lowest murder rates even while sending machine guns to every home of every member of their citizen army. And they do not keep their machine guns in safes or encumbered with trigger locks. They keep them at the ready.

I live in Switzerland, and YES I have my automatic rifle at home in a safe place.
But be aware the regulation are very tough .
Every Swiss Soldier have a can of bullets that comes with the rifle. The can is checked every year by the military. If you open it for no good reason, you will give back your weapon to the arsenal with a crazy fine or jail time.
Also, you cannot just buy a weapon in a store (like in US) , you need to have a permit like in all other European country.
Only reserve soldier are allowed to have a weapon at home, but are not allowed to use it outside military assignment ( which are every year till about 35years old).
Today, Switzerland are able to mobilize about 80% of their reserve army in less then 2days, the Swiss army is more a militia then a real army, and that is the main purpose of the actually legislation.

Well-they may Regulate their Militias-but-I guarantee they don't regulate their Knves as well......
