Drudge Retort: Red Meat for Yellow Dogs

Sparked by today's Washington Post story that suggests Vice President Cheney's office is involved in the Plame-CIA spy link investigation, government officials and advisers passed around rumors that the vice president might step aside and that President Bush would elevate Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice.

Rumor: The moon is made of green cheese.

Rice won't last long either!!!!

Watergate was so much tamer in comparison.
Let me see if i can come up with a team for W to lean on after all his friends have either left or been dragged off...

Nope!

All i can see is an actor without a script on a stage without a director.

A man without a clue...

If he does, he'll probably state he's resigning because of "health issues". We shouldn't expect the truth from anyone in this administration, should we?! lol!

Sorry if this sounds bad, but, I don't trust any one of them!

What would sound bad would be saying things like, "I trust my President!"

Oh, sorry, we hear that all the time, don't we?

Rumor: The moon is made of green cheese.

The fact that US News & World Report is running rumors of Cheney's resignation is news in itself. It's a pretty big sign that the wheels are coming off the Bush administration.

If Cheney was involved, or any of them, are involved, it should be a charge of treason, which certainly should carry the death penalty. hows that for collateral damage!

"Ah reluctanly accept the office of Vice-President of the United States of 'Merica."
-Jeb Bush

RCADE,

took the words out of my mouth. The issue is definitely roaming around the white house if this is making the media.

It might be just signario running that was over heard but therefore it is being talked about.

The question now is do they really think it will stop the continued investigation if the resignation is true? One hast to wonder how far this will reach. The Presidency??????

I won't believe this rumor to have any validity until worldnetdaily.com starts posting about it.

Regards,

Nicevile

P.S. Clinton never quit. Cheney is a pussy.

If he does, he'll probably state he's resigning because of "health issues". We shouldn't expect the truth from anyone in this administration, should we?! lol!

Sorry if this sounds bad, but, I don't trust any one of them!

"One hast to wonder how far this will reach"

Air Force One on its way to Africa. Someone on that plane may have started the ball rolling. Fitz subpoenaed the phone records I believe. Odds on it was Condi Rice, and quite possibly on Bush's OK if not order.

Better than the soaps...

duhhhh...Where does Rice stand on Abortion rights?

duhhhh...Where does Rice stand on Abortion rights?

I don't think it matters where she stands Scarey...I would have to think Rice is going down as well. IF she would step up if Cheney resigns....I'ld definately call her Minute Rice!! It won't be long till she's cooked as well!

She is supposed to be "brilliant" but she still has that crony air about her...

I have not been impressed with her performance...she just sort of disappeared along with Powell...Powell I am impressed with...Poor bastard had to come to the height of his military career while Dubya was at the helm...tough luck

Rumor: Niceville is an actual human being capable of independent thought.....nah!!!

I think I saw it in People as well.

Man you guys, yanking your chain is easier than debunking Danni and writing LOL in all Miss Swiss's posts.

If crimes, actual crimes, are proven then the guilty WILL pay.

And THAT remains to be seen unlike those here and elsewhere on the left have convicted them already.

It is simple folks. Simple. Miss Swiss's simple minded posts and the long winded blather posted to keep the site going matter not a bit.

And let's not forget the Scared one.

Looney in action.

And let's not forget the Scared one.

Is that your new sign-off Looneyville?

Niceville,
Did the guilty pay in OJ's case? Did the guilty pay in Rodney King's case? Did the guilty pay in Ken Lay's case? Does the name Marc Rich mean anything to you? How about Ollie North, ring a bell? And I take it you've already ruled out a pardon? Is everything always so simple in Niceville? Ignorance is bliss, I guess.

Poor Nicey, he was born with a silver crucifix up his rectal meatus...

What's amusing is that Niceville thinks Bush is going to go to heaven.

Vice President Jeb Bush.

"He's no crony, he's my brother."

YOU tell US your take on YOUR post Del Monte and then I will let you know.

Thanks.

PS I'll give you one. OJ was innocent and is looking for the killers as we speak on the golf course.

My take is that the rich and powerful often do not pay for their sins or their crimes, but that poor and powerless people almost always pay for their own crimes and for the crimes of others.

"Miss Swiss's simple minded posts"

As contrasted with your cut and paste plagiarisms, proselytizing, and obvious partisan attempts to either apologize for or deflect from wrongdoing by Republican officials while vilifying the Democrats.

You have no standing, no credibility, no respect on this site.

You do not offer relevent comments or address the thread. But like a Whipping Boy you keep coming back with the same mindless prattle.

You call yourself a Christian but it is obvious that you do not adhere in practice to that which you preach.

InWI has said she will not read or respond to your posts, so why don't you take the hint and understand that you have been relegated to the status persona non grata and quit trying to provoke a comment.

Oh yeah, and in case you didn't realize it, Cheney is both rich and powerful. So is Libby and so is Rove. So I am not convinced, like you are, that if they are guilty they will pay. They should, but they may not.

Oz, quit taking up for the poor folks here...I was just kidding around.

I do not want her to respond since the "F" tirade demasked her.

She is here for approval as one of the boys and that is all. LOL

I did not ask for your response either. But thanks for thinking of me.

And I will post what I like, when I like.

I do not want her to respond since the "F" tirade demasked her.

it's what you were shooting for, so be happy...

For a brief moment you dragged a good person into the muck with you. Congrats.

PS- I'll take a "fuck you" comment over spam anyday, muffins.

Gee 5 sentences Nicey. Pretty soon paragraphs!!!

Oh. Somebody's talking to me.

Well, if I'm a traitor (with a capital T even), somebody needs to bring charges, along with charges against half the population. I don't believe W is morally bankrupt, and don't care what America's reputation is around the world--frankly, I don't think much of most of them either.

And, here's how I live with myself: I pay taxes, I work hard, I raise my kids, I go to church, I'm a good neighbor, stuff like that. Like most Americans, on both sides, and I don't demonize people who don't happen to agree with me. Your life, though.

I just heard this on Keith Oberman's "Countdown" tonight. Hmmmm. Everyone knows that Cheney could never be the next President because most people hate his guts, he's a lying neocon, and he's too ill for the job. It sounds to me as though it's setting up the next person to carry the neocon banner. Rice is too close to all those neocon scum and is one herself so I don't think it's her. It was either Cheney and/or Rice who was the "big leakee" anyway.

I, who as you all know, am no fan of GWB but I do not think he was involved in this as everything else is done without "puppetboy's" involvment or okay anyway. How odd that a usual, petty, vindictive payback, done all the time by this White House, is turning into such a huge deal.

OR, is this to have Cheney step aside and have a new person already in position as VP to take over after Bush leaves in 2008. Cheney didn't need an excuse not to run in '08 because he has his health issues and could have stepped aside on those anyway so it is puzzling. What is even more puzzling with the Bush Crime Family is that this very thorough proscecutor has not been found floating face down in the Potomac due to a "suicide" yet. Oberman said that a guy further down the office staff chain "flipped" and gave more info to the proscecutor and that the proscecutor was going after Cheney from day one.

Things appear to be getting very hot for the Bushies. Looks like it's time for Bush to implement a big airdrop dose of the bird flu on the USA so he can put martial law into effect and just stay in power. No elections you know when there is martial law - or when thousands of Americans are being held in "bird flu quarantine." After all, didn't Bush already push for Congress to let him use the military on U.S. soil to help "contain the population" in case of bird flu here. LOS ANGELES HAS ALREADY STARTED WITH PLANS TO QUARANTINE AT LAX FOR INCOMING FLIGHTS. It's already starting, people. Bush is getting ready. We all know Bush is NEVER THIS PREPARED FOR ANYTHING! Why now the big preparations for bird flu -- something Bush can use to keep all his players in power for an indefinite amount of time? Wouldn't something like that bring this whole "Plame" investigation to a screeching halt. Conspiracy theory ? Perhaps.

My take is that the rich and powerful often do not pay for their sins or their crimes, but that poor and powerless people almost always pay for their own crimes and for the crimes of others.

Unless you are DEMOCRAT Martha Stewart, who although she did tell a lie, was certainly no Kenny Boy Lay, Sen. Bill Frist, Cong. Tom Delay, or other Bush crime thug. Martha goes to jail for a victimless crime that every single one of the Bush Crime Family has committed in the past with no penalties to pay.

If forced to believe in the anti-Christ, George W. Bush fits the bill...I would demand a full medical examination of Bush to check for signs of 666....

If forced to believe in the anti-Christ, George W. Bush fits the bill...I would demand a full medical examination of Bush to check for signs of 666....

There should be mass resignations of the entire Bush administration, from baby Bushie on down.

Cheney is so fucked up even his knees are having heart attacks. His resignation ranks high on the "who gives a fuck" scale. He probably hasnt done a fucking thing since entering his 'undisclosed location', anyhow. No great loss.

CalifChris, you never disappoint. You write 3 very coherent, thought-provoking paragraphs. Where is Chris going with this, I wondered? Is he going to suggest that Giuliani will step in as Vice President, thereby giving him an immediate edge for 2008?

Then you go off the deep end, and suggest that Bush will infect the country with a flu virus to remain in office by suspending elections and declaring martial law. Excuse me: you actually imply that he is already doing so.

And if you're going to argue that insider trading is a victimless crime, I would agree with you completely.

Plus, Ken Lay's trial is still ongoing, but he will probably be acquitted, because he should be. Andy Fastow and Jeff Skilling were the problems at Enron, not Lay.

It the arrogance of power...I believe they believe they were untouchable...They have a following of blind lemmings...

What if Mr Fitzgerald's investigation has progressed beyond the leak, and it has led to lies and deception about WMDs in the run up to the war...Mr Fitzgerald may want to know what did Bush know, and WHEN did he know it...and this of course goes for all the fellows at the White House...

Plus, Ken Lay's trial is still ongoing, but he will probably be acquitted, because he should be. Andy Fastow and Jeff Skilling were the problems at Enron, not Lay.

I see exactly where Your loyalty Lies RightisRight BULLSHIT Ken Lay is the chief party responsible and should get life without parole in a federal supermax Prison in colorado. He is the worst of the worst as far as Corporate criminal behaviour. They should hang His balls in efigy.

Larry

If you believe that, let's see some evidence. Let's see evidence that Lay knew that LJM was a scam, that he knew about the manipulation of the California energy markets, that he knew about the Raptors, that he knew that his CFO was looting his company. Because if he knew those things and didn't do anyting about it, he deserved to lose his multi-billion dollar stake in the company he founded.
Andy Fastow was a snake. Pure evil. And he fooled everyone, including the editors of CFO magazine, Fortune, and Forbes.
I believe Ken Lay is innocent. Then again, I thought Martha Stewart was. Still do, actually.

RightisRight=Niceville's retarded brother

I need my hip waders, where are my hip waders? The shit is getting deep on this thread.

Rightisblind,

If you think the founder did not know of the scams going on I have ocean front property in Kansas to sell ya.

If you think the founder did not know of the scams going on I have ocean front property in Kansas to sell ya.

Right in western Kansas I imagine huh LOL

Larry

Then why didn't Lay sell his stock? Why did he hang on to hundreds of millions of dollars worth of stock which he knew would be worthless if the off-balance sheet shenanigans were ever disclosed?

Come on. You need to educate yourself. Again. Even Eichenwald says that Lay didn't know.

That said, I'll bet you don't know the scams that went on. The board didn't. The investment banks didn't. Arthur Andersen didn't. The controller and treasurer of Enron didn't. It was Fastow, Glisan, Skilling, and Kopper, all of whom have earned long jail terms.

And I'm glad, in a way. I'm an accounting and finance purist, and booking future revenues as a "mark-to-market" always seemed way too artificial for me, and that's how Enron grew during the 1990's. I, for one, do not lament its passing.

"RightisRight=Niceville's retarded brother"

There's an intelligent post. You don't have anything to contribute to the debate, so you just insult somebody? Oh! It's supposed to be a joke.

Hahahahahahahaha.

You're a comic genius, I guess. Well, that might make up for your other shortcomings.

CHENEY~Corrupt, Henious, Errant, Narcissistic, Evil, Yellow bellied mother fucker.

That was funny, Bayviking! That's something we can all play!!

Larry

rightisblind,

And I'm glad, in a way. I'm an accounting and finance purist,

From this tell me, could three of you coworkers move and displace policy so badly that it would not be found out by the top?

AND -- wasn't there a "rumor" about Cheney stepping down after they had won the election?

HMMMMM -- wonder what happened with that?

You guys are priceless!!

From this tell me, could three of you coworkers move and displace policy so badly that it would not be found out by the top?

* *
Sure. How do you think Arthur Andersen, a big 5 accounting firm, was done in by three accountants? I was Controller and Treasurer of a company for four years. I built in a lot of safeguards for cash management and receivables management that I thought were bulletproof. But I learned that there was a guy, a manager no less, in the Equipment Rentals division that would steal from the company this way: he would generate an invoice, then credit back the customer for early return of vehicles and equipment. Except, the customer didn't bring the equipment back early--the manager was pocketing the money for himself, and marking the tickets as if the equipment had been returned early. One day he made a mistake on the serial number, and I got checking into how THAT was possible, then figured out what he was doing.

One other time, a regular employee was removing cash invoice tickets from the cash drawer, and the exact amount of cash from the tills. We didn't know there was even a problem until one of the ladies noticed that she had sold a diamond blade, and later couldn't find the sales ticket. The guy had taken it, along with the money. He never admitted how much he had taken over the years--might have been thousands, might have been a one-time deal. Can't say.

Believe me, when there's a lot of cash floating around, people get creative. And those Enron guys were the most creative of all. They hid what they were doing from their own families, the banks, the investors, their staff, and the Chairman of the Board, Ken Lay.

More from the DC rumor mill

...and after Cheney quits, and Condi is named VP, Bush will resign and head to Crawford, where he and Cheney will both secretly direct a puppet government headed by Rice.

This will set Condi up nicely for a run in '08 against Hillary, who will be completely discredited when she gets into a fist fight with all of Bill's girlfriends at his funeral, held the night before the Democratic Party convention. After Hillary makes bail, she loses control, gunning down Monica Lewinski, Gennifer Flowers and Paula Jones in three separate apparent break-ins.

In a vast right-wing conspiracy, Bush and Cheney will find a crooked jury to convict Hillary on three counts of premieditated murder. Sentence is carried out in the gas chamber on the first worldwide televised execution.

Bush and Cheney them topple the UN, effectively achieving world domnation. The n, and only then, does W remove his mask and reveal himself to be the antichrist...

How will toppling the UN achieve world domination?

Until then, your idea was a little bit plausable.

"Then you go off the deep end, and suggest that Bush will infect the country with a flu virus to remain in office by suspending elections and declaring martial law. Excuse me: you actually imply that he is already doing so."

Posted by rightisright at 2005-10-18 09:27 PM

True, I did get a bit carried away there at the end, but I just can't see these Bush corporatist necons EVER allowing absolute power, and the chance to loot our U.S. Treasury for every last dime, to slip from their hands. Don't forget, the Bushies now control all three branches of the government and that chance will not be around again for a long, long time. Ergo - no elections held, then no release of this power.

I was trying to see what was currently around that Bush might use as a convenient "emergency" of gigantic proportions and "bird flu" came to mind as a possibility that, if on a grand scale in this country, might just bring this investigation to a halt, or at least put indictments of Cheney and gang on a back burner for awhile. Bush has run the "terror" game into the ground and practically no one believes him anymore. Popping up with a bin Ladin video isn't going to impress anyone. It's almost become a laugh now they are so predictable -- anytime Bushie's in trouble.

However, you DO have to think "outside the box" to stay ahead of the possibilities they may have in mind. What made me so suspicious about this is that Bush, the world's most "incurious" President, IMMEDIATELY jumped all over bird flu epidemic preparations and most of those Bush had in mind -- military controlling things on U.S. soil, quarantine camps, etc. would all allow for martial law and suspend elections.

Actually, maybe I am giving these criminal thugs in the White House too much credit for being able to think/plan their way out of these charges via my conspiracy theory but their greed and deception knows no bounds. Of course Cheney, Halliburton, the Bushes and their family business the Carlyle Group, have already stolen so many BILLIONS of dollars from us how much more can they possibly use. But do NOT underestimate them.

Posted by Commontater at 2005-10-18 11:44 PM | Reply

Hmmm, any family relation to our good friend and fellow blogger, DETHSPUD aka "Tater"?

I think you just made it worse.

Look, you guys can't have it both ways: you can't say W is a bumbling, "incurious", idiotic moron who can't do anything unless his handlers Rove and Cheney stick him up to do it, then on the next line say that W is a diabolical genius who is hell-bent on world domination and has planned everything down to the minutest detail.

As soon as you guys figure out who YOU think Bush is, you might start beating the guy where it matters--in the election booth, in the Congress, on the Courts. But you don't even understand the nature of your enemy. Give Repubs credit for this much, at least--we know how to stick to a theme, hammer it home, and win elections. One of the wonders of politics is how perception and reality are so much the same. How YOU define the opponent gets traction in the marketplace of ideas, if you stick to it. If not, then you're all over the place. Start taking notes.

Who are "you guys"? Chris speaks only for Chris, as far as I'm aware.

"Then why didn't Lay sell his stock? Why did he hang on to hundreds of millions of dollars worth of stock which he knew would be worthless if the off-balance sheet shenanigans were ever disclosed?"

He did sell tons of stock... he just had so much there was no way to sell it all before the bottom fell out... K. lay was selling as he was telling his employees to buy... K. lay was selling when his employees (in their 401 k) were locked in...

but that will come out at trial.

are you this guys lawyer or something.

jezzus h. christ...

Bush just does what he is TOLD to do. He was picked from the beginning to be the "friendly, just one of y'all" face and shill for the real guys running the Presidency. Just the fact that when Bush mentioned this bird flu a couple weeks ago he said he had read a (big) book this summer about the 1918 flu epidemic made me suspicious right off the bat that something was up. The last book I ever heard him admit to reading was "The Pet Goat" in 2001.

Bush IS a moron, but he is a moron who does what he is told to do and says what he is scripted to say. I never said the thugs around him were not smart. The only unscripted moment I ever recall is Bush with the microphone on top of rubble of the World Trade Towers as he stood with that retired fireman right after 9-11 happened. That was Bush's finest moment and it all went straight downhill from there.

RightisRight-
What will the R's run on in 2006/08 do you think?

I hope he elevates Condi. She'll never win a presidential election. Bush has 2% support among blacks, Condi has never been married and she has no kids. Remember the lesbian rumor after the FoxNews host dropped that question on her.

The Dems could sit back and laugh as the GOP continues to rip itself apart.

The last book I ever heard him admit to reading was "The Pet Goat" in 2001.

There he goes again. Slandering the finest example of presidency in the 21st century. Sometimes I think Chris has something against Bush.

Clearly by
this, Bush was actively consulting the latest information on terrorist activity, at the very moment of their greatest coup! Chris just doesn't give the President enough credit for being that proactive. I mean, did FDR read about Pearl Harbour as it was happening??!! I THINK NOT!

Seriously. Here is an excellent timeline on the day along with little known facts about attempted contacts with Bush by what might have been an assasination attempt on the morning of 9/11.

Regards,
etc.

What will the R's run on in 2006/08 do you think?

* * *
I don't know that they have to run on anything in 2006, it's not a national election. And they've already got control of Congress, and they will win it again, because the advantages accrue so heavily to the incumbents. Unfortunately.

In 2008, way too early to tell. I think that the Democrats have written off the Republicans at their peril. They did that before, if memory serves: they were so cerain that the residual anger over the 2000 election would propel Dems to victory in the Congress in 2002. Then they figured that Iraq would play a big role in 2004. There's no reason to think they won't mis-play their hand next go 'round, either.

RightisRight-
That's what I thought. All the previous implied strengths are now weaknesses.

The D's are coming out with their platform this fall (it was originally slated for a release in the spring of '06), so we'll see...

Good luck, RiR

That's another mistake. They should release the platform in the summer of next year, and give the Republicans less time to co-opt their good ideas, and attack their bad ones.

They also need to move their conventions back, closer to Labor Day. The dems, that is. And they need to move Carville back to some position of authority at the DNC--he was the last guy who put together a winning strategy for them, then was dropped when Gore came along. Can't stand the Ragin' Cajun myself, but the guy knew how to win elections.

Gonna be interesting, to be sure.

Greenberg and Carville just put out a good piece on what the Dems should do--go after Perot's people:

"Here's where it gets really interesting: Carville and Greenberg argue that the party should become "reformist, populist and nationalist."

"2006 will only produce an upheaval if Democrats make a break with the forces that have put them just short of a majority in the country," they argue. "The Democrats should revisit the Perot voters and their concerns, even if Perot himself has faded from view. His voters were the most anti-political and anti-elitist, anti-big government and big corporations, anti-free trade and anti-immigration. They were pro-military but anti-foreign entanglements. They were libertarian and secular, pro-gun and pro-choice."

TPS,

Good article about the time line. Interesting to note about airforce one. I have worked on it many times and I know it has the ability to knock out any plane or missle.

Airforce one is also a virtual flying norad.

TPS:

Funny pictures. Gave me some good laughs.

RightisRight:

The problem with the Democrats is that they go off in about 80 different directions. The've got to get off the gun control crap. The world is too dangerous and no one is going to give up ANY control on their guns, including registration which is another none starter and the Dems should just shut up about it.

And quit beating the abortion issue to death. It's not going to be overturned, no one wants abortion but it should be between a woman and her doctor, family, etc. The Dems seem to talk about nothing else but abortion non-stop.

If the Democrats want to win the Presidency they should just stick to the following issues:

1. No more outsourcing of American jobs;
2. No more letting huge corporations declare bankruptcy just to destroy employee/retiree pensions, health plans, and salaries (while the CEO's get obscene profits);
3. Drop the gay marriage issue
4. Protect the borders and enforce our immigration laws AND MEAN IT;
5. Demand we go back to the basics in education (reading, writing and math) and bring back science and technology classes;
6. Stop bringing in illegal aliens to work for peanuts and destroy American wages and ENFORCE THE LAW against employers who hire them;
7. Scream from the rooftops that the Neocon ideology is DEAD and that globalist imperialism will no longer be allowed to run rampant;
8. Declare that the USA will no longer have "INC." after its name;
9. Stop trying to get God out of everything - leave Christmas celebrations at schools, Christmas parades down Main Street, and stuff like that ALONE. And leave "under God" in the Pledge of Allegence, etc.
10. Bash the Republicans to death on how they have screwed over our military guys with lousy equipment, no veteran health care when they leave the service, etc. Tell Americans the Dems will fight to the death IF we are attacked but that Bush's Neocon "preemptive attack doctrine" no longer exists;
11. Bring back INTO THE USA our textile jobs, our manufacturing jobs, our steel and mining jobs, everything we use to have until the globalists destroyed it;
12. Don't allow incorporating offshore to get out of paying taxes;
13. Do NOT run Hillary Clinton as she did not have the guts to say NO to the war in Iraq, and keeps rubberstamping all of Bush's requests for more billions to be sent accounted for to Iraq. She too is a globalist and her hubby pushed thru NAFTA. They are too intertwined with the Bushes and their "New World Order" outlook on the world. Plus she and her hubby are a littletooclose to the Bush family, waaaayyyy too close.
14. Clamp down on the ACLU
15. Declare they will WATCH CHINA VERY CAREFULLY - they will be our true threat in the future.

EMPLOYMENT FOR AMERICANS, HEALTHCARE, DECENT LIVEABLE WAGES - GIVE US AMERICA THE WAY IT USE TO BE WHEN WE ALL HAD SOME SECURITY IN OUR JOBS, HOMES, AND IN FOREIGN AFFAIRS -- THAT'S WHAT WILL WIN THE DEMOCRATS THE PRESIDENCY IN 2008. By the way, I voted for Ross Perot. He made sense.

Oh, I forgot to add a real big one for the Dems - NO MORE FREE TRADE. NONE AT ALL.

Chris

What's this "will be" shit?
Corporate America sold out to China in the 90's.

Thomas Jefferson would have put a rope around Cheney's and Rove's neck.

Alexander Hamiliton would challenge "Scooter" Libby to duel.

These traitors are given pass by Corporate media, ignored or praised by right-wing, and feared by spineless democrates who wallow in their wading pool of ineptness.

Quick question, if someone could help me out here, does a Vice President have to be confirmed? Does Bush say (IF there is an opening), "Condoleeza Rice is the new VP," or is there a big process?

I do believe Gerald Ford was confirmed by the Senate.

There was no precedent.

I do believe Gerald Ford was confirmed by the Senate.

There was no precedent.

Amendment XXV

Section 1. In case of the removal of the President from office or of his death or resignation, the Vice President shall become President.

Section 2. Whenever there is a vacancy in the office of the Vice President, the President shall nominate a Vice President who shall take office upon confirmation by a majority vote of both Houses of Congress.

New Vice Presidents have to be confirmed by the Senate, by majority vote.

Chris, guess what?--with that, you'll win elections. A lot of them.

Thanks for the info...

Although I would like Rice as a VP, to break both color and gender barriers, I would also hope if there is a vacancy that he would look to some people like McCain or Gov Romney. Centrists who will help heal some wounds, and at the same time build experience for an '08 run.

In other fantastic news, Bush has known for two years that Karl leaked classified information, and was only pissed off that he got caught doing it!

I am sure that the neocons will make sure that whoever is nominated for VP will be a supporter of their Project for the New American Century which is the basic philosophy that sets their agenda. I do not think they will consider party politics as much as the agenda. If they did and something happened to the president the agenda they have worked on for decades would be derailed. I believe that their long term goals are more important to them than individual politicians or parties. So, Condi would be their choice. And then there is the Hilary thing, and Condi v Hilary would be the bout of the new century. Appointing your mistress trumps getting your wife elected in macho circles.

I once had a manager that managed by rumor mill. He would tell you don't tell this to anyone knowing you would as soon as the opportunity arose. I never would spread his chit for him and once asked him why he just didn't do what he thought was right rather than spreading lies. He didn't have an answer.

I no longer work for him. What a chitty way to do business.

This is nothing but bs from a party that has nothing but bs to offer.

Blame on libs blame on.

"""This is nothing but bs from a party that has nothing but bs to offer."""

Talking point #29.
I will admit though, that you type well for a sheep. It must be difficult to hit the keys with hooves.
Flag waving hour starts in 27 minutes, get your Chinese made American flag ready.

Sorry to tell you this, Cheney hasn't done anything wrong to resign about. This administration certainly hasn't matched the slimy nature of the previous one.

Danni, I am sure that John Huang will DONATE that flag and some appreciable money for some military secrets...just like the good ole days.

The msm has become a huge tabloid. Reporting rumors of rumors. How pathetic.

CLINTON MACHINE CRIMES
FOR WHICH CONVICTIONS
HAVE BEEN OBTAINED

Drug trafficking (3), racketeering, extortion, bribery (4), tax evasion, kickbacks, embezzlement (2), fraud (12), conspiracy (5), fraudulent loans, illegal gifts (1), illegal campaign contributions (5), money laundering (6), perjury, obstruction of justice

What did you say Bush did again? How many convictions have there been?

""Sorry to tell you this, Cheney hasn't done anything wrong to resign about.""

Boy, Citizen, you seem pretty sure but I doubt that you have anything to base your opinion on. It is called wishful thinking, and it is the reason the Bush administration expected flower petals to be thrown on our troops as they invaded.
Understand, FINALLY, you can't run a nation on the basis of wishful thinking.
Personally, I usually find that the old adage "where there is smoke there is fire" is a good one. But, I do know, Republicans believe "where there is smoke there is Rove putting out the fire" but he is occupied now defending his own ass so it may be every scum bag for themself.

Maybe you have a point, A Citizen.

Why don't we spend a $100+ million dollars investigating Bushco, like we did Clinton, and find out?

You wouldn't want your numbers skewed by such an inequitable amount of investigation, I'm sure.

Danni,

I believe it is still innocent until proven guilty...not innocent until proven Republican.

I have a lot to base my opinion on.

He has not been indicted
He has not been removed (impeached)
He has not been convicted
Really, he has not even been accussed by anyone who matters.
There is no credible evidence of wrong doing on his part.

What do you have to support your opinion that he is guilty - I mean other than Howard Dean's talking points?

OK A Citizen, I will give you more

I dare you to click on the link and educate yourself.

I have not once said Clinton wasn't dirty. How can you justify the CURRENT ADMINSTRATION being corrupt because the last one was too? Clinton has not been president for 5 years now. Get over it. This is a current problem we have and it is getting worse.

Corky,

Your logic stated a different way:

I have no evidence that there is wrong doing. I hate the bastard and am willing to spend money to verify whether there has been wrongdoing. To seal the deal, I am going to call them Bushco.

If that's your best shot, I don't think the Republicans have anything to worry about.

One more thing, I put a source for my list. Where is yours or cannot you not post a link to "out of your arse"?

"I have no evidence that there is wrong doing. I hate the bastard and am willing to spend money to verify whether there has been wrongdoing."

The justification for the Clinton impeachment I see.

Liberal, lefty fantasies. They have so little else with which to console themselves this fifth year out of power.

"no evidence that there is wrong doing."

Truly laughable.

"None are so blind as those who will not see."

Kan,

1. Source:

2. As to the impeachment, there was one other thing. It is a little thing that we in the law sometimes refer to as "evidence". Evidence that Clinton committed two felonies. He was impeached for those things.

Corky,

Where is this evidence that you speak of? I thought the investigation was ongoing and Cheney people were cooperating. Do you know something that the rest of the world does not know?

I do note that in the face of fact your ability to argue has rapidly deteriorated

"Evidence that Clinton committed two felonies. He was impeached for those things."

Evidence he did not commit two felonies, he was aquitted by the Senate.
Impeachment only means charged. He was charged and found not guilty. Sorry to inform you with truth.

Kan,

Evidence that was not strong enough to support the charge. Just because the burden of proof is not met does not translate to the person charged being "innocent" merely "not guilty"

Incidently, I look at this thread and remind you...YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE ENOUGH TO CHARGE! So at a minimum, be consistant.

"What did you say Bush did again? How many convictions have there been?"

You flip-flop more than GW, LOL!

Your post, to which I responded, was comparing corrupt administrations. "Evidence of wrongdoing" referred to the Bush admin, not limited to Cheney.

Having not considered the multiple millions spent to examine the Clinton's vs. the Bushes.... you looked foolish so you switch focus back to Cheney.

There is a MULTITUDE of evidense of corruption concerning the Bushes, as it is more than obvious to all but the willing blind.

>

A Cit,
Your statement that I took issue with was that the previous adminustration was more corrupt than this one. That seems to me to justify this administration's behavior because they had not meet the new limit that one must meet to be corrupt. My issue was that this administration has as many dark issues as the last and just as many have been proven.
I find it ammusing that those who went after Clinton on rumor are so fiercely defending this administration against fact.

This would be the third time that Cheney is charged with a crime. (two dwi's) Do you think he believes in the three strikes and your out theory?

Corky,

I looked at the link posted by Kan and I am forced to wonder how many millions are being spent on those 34 investigations into the Bush administration. I also wonder what evidence has been generated. So what did Bush do again?

So you admit to changing the subject from corrupt admins back to Cheney?

"So what did Bush do again?"

Read a newspaper. Any of them. Or any of the next POTUS's Kanrei's links.

My current favorite is this one:

nydailynews.com

Here's how I see this:

Partisanship aside, we DO need to hold these crooked bastards accountable for their actions. On this stance, I am actually pleased that Cliton and Bush have been scrutinized.

From a compare and contrast standpoint; my question is:

Which administration has been more cooperative with said investigations?

The one thing that bothers me regarding Cliton supporters is the indignation. The 'Vast Right Wing Conspiracy' had the gall to investigate Cliton! Yet, zero condemnation toward Cliton for all of his efforts to thwart and subvert the process.

Pathetic.

Kan,

I make no excuses. If this administration has been corrupt (something that I don't know that I believe because of the difficulty of seperating democratic talking points from facts) they deserve to swing in the wind. I am just noting that the same people who would have been screaming "OK, he got a blow job, let's moveon.org." are comdemning Cheney to Hell and calling for an ouster of the president on MUCH LESS evidence then the Republicans had in the late 90's.

It must really piss the Democrats off to believe that Bush and Cheney could be this dirty and yet they are smart enough that they can't be caught. However, Clinton wasn't as smart and he did get caught.

"for all you right wing Fundys out there, whats the Bible say?

"You reap what you sow"...

Sow the seeds of Greed and Corruption, and
you shall die by them..."

Hmmm...then that would mean the Dems are out of power due to their own...

"smart enough that they can't be caught."

Your fantasies just grow like weeds!

They haven't been caught YET, sweetie. Let's give Fitzy a chance, no?

It must really be a relief to Republicans that their President can spend their grandchildren's inheritence and put them into debt before they are born, play policeman of the world with pre-emptive wars built on non-existant nuclear threats, and appoint his personal secretary to the Supreme Court.

And that's just the legal stuff!

I think it was Bill Maher that made a joke about Dick Cheneys office. He said it was the 'back of a speeding ambulance'. I loved that clip where Cheney is told to go fuck himself while he was down in MS.

Corky,

The only way the president is spending my grandchild's inheretence is if he lets the democrats raise my taxes or prolong the estate tax. Outside of that, my grandkids should be fine. IF he will get off of his ass and end the Social Security program, or revamp it to allow me to deposit money into an account that I can pass on if I don't spend it all in my old age, they will be even better.

I loved that clip where Cheney is told to go fuck himself while he was down in MS.

COMMONSENSE,

I also enjoyed that. But I always enjoy it when the "best of the democratic party" is on display.

Yes, while the best of the Republican party is the VP Cheney telling a Senator on the floor of that chamber to "go fuck himself".

Much better display, indeed!

A Cit,
Allow me to explain myself. I am not the typical anti-Bush person. I do not trust anyone who would want to be president and I watch them all like a hawk.
While Clinton was president, I did not trust him either. I voted for him in 91 against GHWB, but did not vote at all in 96. I did not support him and did not like Dole. I am far from partisan.
I do think it is important to say that Clinton was aquitted as well as impeached, or else you are only saying a half truth. It is like saying a person was charged for a crime is guilty regardless of what the trial proves. If that is the case, then why have a trial?

""The only way the president is spending my grandchild's inheretence is if he lets the democrats raise my taxes or prolong the estate tax.""

Oh, Citizen so you are wealthy enough that your kids will have to worry about the estate tax????
You seem to think that the only way you are taxed is through income taxes. There are many other methods which can and will be employed. The question is just what kind of tax, one that is progressive or regressive. You, like other dreamers probably believe that someday you will be rich enought to worry about the estate tax. Trust me, you won't be.

Blood's in the water...sharks are swimin' about...yum-yum...Politics as theatre can hardly get better than this. (But it might, a thought that can be relished by even the most jaded observer of this most jaded of presidencies.)

Wow, I step out for lunch and so much has happened:

Corky,

In Cheney's defense, sometimes when you talk to those of lesser intelligence, you have to dumb down the presentation. Also in Cheney's defense, he said it in a semi-private conversation not on national television.

Kan,

I am far from being partisan. I also agree that anyone who wants the job is not to be trusted. As some of the people on this thread will attest, when there is a republican involved - especially one with money, there is no reason to try them...they are guilty of something.

Danni,

I am presently in my mid 30's. Right now, I would qualify for the estate tax as a result of my ownership of a business and several investments. Sorry to dishearten you about who and what you are dealing with. Not every American is underprivileged. It is possible to be a success. If you cast off the yolk of dependency and accept personal responsibility, I believe that you too could know the joy of giving large sums of money to the government for redistribution to those who did nothing to deserve it. You too can know the joy of estate planning to try to keep the government's grubby mitts off of the property you worked for during your life so you can pass it on to your heirs.

Perhaps we could veer back to the subject at hand?

A Cit

You know, I have tried to be civil and give you the benefit of the doubt...

but your utterly inane insinuation that Cheney is somehow more intelligent than either the Senator he degraded, or Dems in general, AND your ludicrous imagining that whomever shouted at Cheney KNEW they would be recorded for national television..

gives you away as more of a partisan hack than an objective observer.

BTW- Keep on defending Cheeny. Looks like this thug can use all the help he can get.
