Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

President Trump inserted himself into the tumult of French politics on Friday, declaring that the fatal shooting of a police officer in central Paris would have "a big effect" when voters go to the polls on Sunday to choose among 11 presidential candidates. Trump did not mention any candidates by name. But his statement on Twitter -- "The people of France will not take much more of this. Will have a big effect on presidential election!" -- came at the tail end of a tight, fragmented race, with at least four contenders running neck and neck. One of them, Marine Le Pen, the far-right candidate, has issued grim warnings that a declining France is losing its identity, echoing Trump's themes during the American presidential race last year.

It was not clear, however, that Trump's statement would help her among undecided voters. [Edit: Just among her base.]

In a statement on Friday, Le Pen blamed "radical Islam" -- "a monstrous, totalitarian ideology that has declared war on our nation, on reason, on civilization" -- for the attack Thursday night.

Prime Minister Bernard Cazeneuve responded to Le Pen and [center-right candidate Francois] Fillon with a point-by-point rebuttal.

"For all of our citizens, for our entire country, this attack is a tragedy," he said. "Ms. Le Pen seeks to make it an opportunity."

So Boaz, you going to change your citizenship to France so you can vote for Ms. Le Pen?

She's also an authoritarian nationalist with fascist tendencies... and she might even remove her shoes if you did. Just sayin'.

National Socialism (German: Nationalsozialismus), more commonly known as Nazism (/ˈnɑːtsɪzəm, ˈnæ-/[1]), is the ideology and practice associated with the 20th-century German Nazi Party and Nazi Germany, as well as other far-right groups. Usually characterised as a form of fascism that incorporates scientific racism and antisemitism, Nazism developed out of the influences of Pan-Germanism, the Völkisch German nationalist movement and the anti-communist Freikorps paramilitary groups that emerged during the Weimar Republic after German defeat in World War I.

Nazism subscribed to theories of racial hierarchy and Social Darwinism, identifying Germans as part of what Nazis regarded as an Aryan or Nordic master race.[2] It aimed to overcome social divisions and create a homogeneous society, unified on the basis of "racial purity" (Volksgemeinschaft).

If it walks like a Nazi and it tweets like a Nazi, it's prolly a Nazi.

ClownShack, you do realize that the communist have murdered more than five times the number of people that the Nazis did. Mostly their own people. Hitler isn't even in the top five as far as murder goes. I will say that Lenin and Stalin had more time to rack up a score. Mao leads the pack, but he had over 30 years to kill.

You do realize communism is purely a theoretical form of government and no human civilization has ever actually been communist, right?

Boaz is the level of intellect that allows poor goat herders to fight off the most powerful and coddled military in the history of the world. SAD!
