Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Monday, March 20, 2017

Most members of President Trump's Cabinet do not yet have leadership teams in place or even nominees for top deputies. But they do have an influential coterie of senior aides installed by the White House who are charged -- above all -- with monitoring the secretaries' loyalty, according to eight officials in and outside the administration. ... At the Pentagon, they're privately calling the former Marine officer and fighter pilot who's supposed to keep his eye on Defense Secretary Jim Mattis "the commissar," according to a high-ranking defense official with knowledge of the situation. It's a reference to Soviet-era Communist Party officials who were assigned to military units to ensure their commanders remained loyal.

Nothing to see here. Certainly not any dictator-like tendencies.

So much worse than a Czar.

"The Imperial Senate will no longer be of any concern to us. I've just received word that the Emperor has dissolved the council permanently. The last remnants of the Old Republic have been swept away.

--That's impossible! How will the Emperor maintain control without the bureaucracy?

The Regional governors now have direct control over their territories. Fear will keep the local systems in line. Fear of this battle station."

You'd think simple pride would make some people rebel over something like this. Maybe they have no pride, or maybe they're already terrified.

I'd pity Donald Trump if he weren't in a position to hurt so many people. It must really hurt to be him. I understand why he doesn't sleep at night.

You mean like the many CZARS Obama had? The last was likely a Rest Room Czar. www.bloomberg.com

Pretty lame, Robson. Pretty lame. You are defending a fascist with eyes wide open.

A "Czar" under Obama was an expert in an area brought in to help with that area. In general I think what Obama did with this was a good leadership move.

A "Commisar" under Trump is someone watching someone just to make sure they are loyal (to Trump I assume).

Quite a difference. Mind blowing honestly.

Also, if I remember correctly, the "Czar"s also would be in charge of a topic that was effected by different parts of the government bureaucracy. So, it was more their job to coordinate the efforts of disparate parts of government to address a particular problem.

As opposed to Trump who, it looks like, is putting in "political officers" to make sure that no one contradicts the Trump Administration's narrative or talking points. The Czars were supposed to make the bureaucracy more efficient (by being a conduit between different departments). The "Commissars" are just adding another layer to it.

Eventually they'll need another layer of commissars to watch over the first layer of commissars.

Political Officers that are only there to test the purity and loyalty of civil servants. Gotta purge that Deep State. From a page right out of the Russian Handbook.

Good move Comrade.

You're talking to people who think Lincoln would think like them because he was also a Republican.

Things Republicans believe that are not true:

Nazis were socialists (The socialists and unions were the first to go to the camps)

The debt rose BECAUSE of Obama

Obama pulled our troops out of Iraq

The economy got worse under Obama (Come on I challenge any of you to come up with any metric that says our economy is worse now than on his inauguration day)

Unemployment is high

People on welfare get more than minimum wage

MLK was a republican

Republicans are fiscally responsible

Republicans keep us safer

man-made climate change is a hoax

snow disproves climate change

tax cuts stimulate economic growth

voter fraud is a big problem

Obama has cut the military (No we just used up a lot of men and equipment)

Our poor people aren't poor enough

Our rich people are overtaxed

deregulation helps businesses (It doesn't affect them unless they plan to do the bad things the regulation intended to prevent)

Selling Insurance across State lines will lower costs (How many doctors in Wisconsin are in-network for that cheap Alabama insurance? None? Ok you get to pay full price out of pocket dumbass)

People on food stamps are all lazy druggies (Testing revealed they use drugs at much lower rates than the general population. Drugs are expensive)

Falling employment participation rate is a bad thing (It only got that high because republican trickle down voodoo economics forced both parents to work fulltime to make ends meet. In a great economy workforce participation would be under 50% because one adult could support a family)

labor participation rate is falling because lazy people quit looking for work so they can live high on welfare (20,000 baby boomers a day are retiring only 10,000 new worker bees are being born each day)

Hear the children
Don't turn around, oh oh
Der Kommissar's in town, oh oh
He's got the power
And you're so weak
And you're frustration will not let you speak

Don't turn around, oh oh
Der Kommissar's in town, oh oh
And if he talks to you
Then you'll know why
The more you live
The faster you will die

Don't turn around, oh oh
Der Kommissar's in town, oh oh
Don't turn around, oh oh
Der Kommissar's in town, oh oh
