"Since the tweets nine days ago this charge by the president has been called false by the director of the FBI, false by the former Director of National intelligence, and not one credible, informed source that we can find in Washington has said that the president's accusation is true. I am including Vice President Pence in the group. To say that members of the House Intelligence Committee are expecting reams of paper to prove the charge coming their way today, well, that would be doing a disservice to the members of that select committee. We as a nation have had to live in this farce for the last nine days." -- CNN's Jake Tapper

Trump changed the game of establishment politics and now is president. The Democrats do not lead, floundering, unsure of how to face the demands of a trying historical test. Senator Charles Schumer (D-NY), Wall Street's inside man, has no clue what to do. The social order is in crisis and he lacks the vision to see what's going on, let alone do anything to address it. He also seems to be losing party discipline, with Wall Street Democrats in panic.

Trump has probably had the worst start to a presidency since William Henry Harrison, who died of pneumonia only 32 days after taking the oath. But by all measures the Democrats have fared even worse than the president, and rightfully so. Since Trump's win, and despite relentless attempts to invalidate his victory, there has been a steady attrition of support for the Democratic Party. The Democrats are now less liked (35%) and more hated (50%) than Trump (44%/47%), according to a recent Suffolk Poll.

The deeper the Democrats descend into the Russian rabbit hole, the farther they remove themselves from the working-class people whose defection cost them the election and the longer the odds grow that they will ever revitalize their party as a real oppositional force to the reactionary freight train bearing down upon them. Meh...another partisan piece of crap article. I can't ever remember a time when politicians DIDN'T make baseless accusations against the other party. The Trump supporters will say they know for sure there is wiretapping even if it can't be proven and the opponents will say Trump is making it all up and has no proof. Regardless if proof materializes, both sides will NEVER change that viewpoint. The only power American citizens have is to set an example and NOT be hypocrites. Every new President we get, this same crap happens over and over and over again. Yet, here we are, turning into hypocrites as if one party never makes baseless accusations but the other party does. Why would anyone choose to ignore what their party has done just because another party is doing the same stupid thing?

#19 | Posted by humtake at 2017-03-16 11:09 AM | Reply | Funny: 1 | Newsworthy 1

Bullschitt.

No sitting president ever went to this length to incriminate a previous one, especially with zero evidence.

This is unprecedented and you are falling right into the Donald's plain by accepting the unacceptable. Sad.

You don't understand much. Having a sociopath as president, and there can't be any doubt that Donald is one, frightens me because this by itself threatens everything I and those I love have ever worked for and cared about.

Please stop trying to normalize the man. He's not normal. If you don't think he's got a psychiatric diagnosis then please admit he's a pig.

Someone else is welcome to have a pig as president. I'm never going to claim him.

#22, ZED, We know the Russians were rooting for Trump, who correctly wanted to lower tensions between the two nuclear armed countries. We also know Russia has teams of hackers, as does the USA, China, North Korea, et al.

But the notion that Russian propaganda has any significant influence on American voters or Russia has any access to US voting machines is totally absurd. For those dangers the Republicans should be investigated. Those dangers include voter purge lists based on fraud, providing one voting machine in Democratic strongholds, hacking of computer tallies, blocking drive assistant telephone lines for the elderly... and on and on. But its certainly not the Republican's fault Democrat turnout was low. The DNC also rigged the 2016 Democratic primary election in different ways in many States.

We should also know that since WWII the USA has interfered in the free and fair elections of at least thirty countries up to and including murder.

Its just more, "Do as I say, not as I do".

Please. The russians aren't interested in lowering tensions. Tensions HELP putin drive his russian nationalist agenda.

The russians are interested in getting oil sanctions removed because they are crippling their economy.

Of course it's just a coinky-dink that trump JUST HAPPENED to pick putin's favorite america oil exec to run our foreign policy.

I don't think Zed particularly cares if the Russia stuff is true or not. It is just something he uses to smear people who don't agree with him as "traitors". He's been indulging in that schtick for weeks now. Several posters seem to fall into the same category.

#31 | Posted by Sully at 2017-03-16 03:01 PM | Reply | Newsworthy 1

I don't think the Russians decided the election. Their hacking didn't help, but that was handled way before the election. It was Comey who played kingmaker.

But, regardless of whether it was EFFECTIVE, it doesn't change the fact that it OCCURRED. The Trump -------- keep trying to focus the argument on whether it was effective to try to deflect from the fact that they PROTECTED and ENCOURAGED it during the campaign (just like they are trying to deflect from Flynn's LIES under oath by saying what he lied about isn't illegal... it is the fact that he LIED about his contact with Russian officials which is concerning, not so much the fact of the actual contacts).

We, as Americans, should not tolerate another country meddling in our electoral process. But, Republicans have shown that they don't CARE about the sanctity of our elections. As long as it is benefiting REPUBLICANS, they are fine with our GEOPOLITICAL ENEMIES piling onto our election and breaking our laws (hacking American citizens and organizations). As we have been shown by them persistently ignoring and defending Russian interference.

Trump has fundamentally changed the Republican party to a reflection of his own image. No longer is there a "morality". In the world of Republicans, there is no fundamental "right" and "wrong". They now live by Trump's world view... if you are successful, you are right... if you fail or get caught you are wrong. Might equals right. Morality is defined as what you can get away with.

Conservative "values" have been thoroughly exposed as the fraud that most liberals had long suspected.

So this makes it acceptable for Russia to do it to us? How do we ever get to a world where countries AREN'T breaking laws and interfering in other's elections when we have appeasers like you trying to normalize the behavior?

Other countries were rightfully outraged when the US interfered in their elections. But, apparently they care much more about their countries and the electoral process than you care about yours.

Is this how you think the world SHOULD work? Because you are supporting it. You are normalizing it. It will continue because of the lack of moral fiber of you, and people like you.

#35, GTBskull;, not at all. But, what did they do (other than hack)? Putin proposed an anti-hacking treaty, which the US declined. In the hacking case, we have no way of knowing when its actually Russia or the CIA. In the Courtroom, we can no longer trust that child pornography on some personal computer is from a child abuser or was planted by the CIA.

That's the point. Hillary was mother theresa COMPARED to trump.

I wasn't saying she's like mother theresa at all.

For example: When it comes to attractiveness, I'm tom brady compared to ted cruz.
YOu realize I'm not saying I'm good looking, I'm saying I'm ugly but ted cruz is way uglier.

Why do conservatives need the simplest things explained to them, and then whine about being called stupid?
