Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

White House press secretary Sean Spicer was accosted while shopping at an Apple store in Washington, D.C., on Saturday. "How does it feel to work for a fascist? Have you helped with the Russia stuff? Are you a criminal as well? Have you committed treason too, just like the president?" a woman filming Spicer asks. "Such a great country that allows you to be here," Spicer responded.

This woman is wrong for harassing him, but his statement sums up how the Trump administration feels about ordinary Americans.

As I have pointed out many times, defenders of Trump such as Crassus and Boaz are contemptible feces. For them to condemn this woman shows they are either stupid or willfully dishonest. For Spicer to tell a citizen that American allows you to live here is beyond offensive. Let's be clear. Trump is a fascist. His toadies support his fascism. Spicer, et al, support Trump's authoritarianism.

@#4 What an ------- of a woman.

Possibly. I don't know her, so I cannot say that.

I can say that I think her behavior in this event was less than good. It was not the proper avenue to bring one's opinion to a Trump administration official.

However, that does not excuse the ignorant arrogance in what Mr Spicer said.

Exactly this! And each individual needs to be held accountable for their words and deeds. And for the results of their actions.

This woman is showing you the way. I would love to have a chance like that. Pretty sure I would not be as gentle.

We are not citizens at the pleasure of the government. My citizenship is by birthright and can only be revoked if I am tried and convicted of certain crimes. It is my constitutional right to publicly redress my grievances against your unconstitutional, unethical, immoral, and unreasonable actions.

Moder8 is lying. The man was saying that America allows her to be here, in the Apple Store, hurling invective at its public officials.

Liberals lie. And lawyers lie. I'm wearing my shocked face.

Sorry BabyHuey, but I knew Spicer reminded me of somebody. It's Huey.

So, is he drenched in sweat all day or does he take several showers? Don't feel sorry for him, he's made his own choices.

You are the liar here, whitedevil. It's pretty obvious that spicer was being a puke.

Obviously the woman in question was not intent on communication, she was engaging in a verbal attack. She asks questions, but certainly was not interested in any answers. Spenser has a point. Even lowly a press secretary know that such behavior in a majority of the countries on this planet would require the individual who engaged in this activity to flee for their lives out of the reach of a government's power. The United States does not have political refugees. Freedom of speech is actually pretty rare. Say the wrong thing in Canada, you can go to jail. Same in England. Same in France. About the only words that can get you in trouble here is a death threat or a danger to public safety, causing a panic for malicious purposes.

Hecklers are obnoxious, but I question any value system that takes more offense at this woman than at a White House press secretary telling lies constantly in defense of an immigrant- and Muslim-demonizing fascist starter kit like Trump. Sean Spicer is a disgrace.

#23 | Posted by rcade at 2017-03-14 09:31 AM | Reply | Newsworthy 2

#23 | Posted by rcade The terms fascist, is a little over used. As I remember from my history studies Fascist were notorious for disrupting meetings, burning papers and books and shutting down anyone who disagreed with them. Eventually they physically attacked their opposition, then started killing them, starting with journalist. Seems the anti-Trump folks have more of those tactics displayed than vice versa.

Some of us see that stuff coming if things continue as they are now.

Donald is an amoral man who hates truth and loves money and power. It's more than possible.

#25 | Posted by Zed at 2017-03-14 10:14 AM | Reply

Question everything. Hold every individual in this administration accountable for what they do and say. Make it so you they cannot enjoy the fruits of their corruption.

#26 | Posted by donnerboy at 2017-03-14 11:12 AM | Reply

As with most incidents involving a two people acting out in public, both people are idiots behaving inappopriately. No need to defend either one of them.

Should we expect better of the White House press secretary? Yes.

But I'm sure that both of you feel the same way as SS. I'm pretty sure Boaz feels, like many, that our military "gives" us our rights.
Which is wrong, they "protect" or rights, for which we pay them.
