Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News

Charles M. Blow, New York Times: Donald Trump schlepped across town on Tuesday to meet with the publisher of The New York Times and some editors, columnists and reporters at the paper. ... I will say proudly and happily that I was not present at this meeting. The very idea of sitting across the table from a demagogue who preyed on racial, ethnic and religious hostilities and treating him with decorum and social grace fills me with disgust, to the point of overflowing. Let me tell you here where I stand on your "I hope we can all get along" plea: Never. You are an aberration and abomination who is willing to do and say anything -- no matter whom it aligns you with and whom it hurts -- to satisfy your ambitions. I don't believe you care much at all about this country or your party or the American people. I believe that the only thing you care about is self-aggrandizement and self-enrichment.

So let me say this on Thanksgiving: I'm thankful to have this platform because as long as there are ink and pixels, you will be the focus of my withering gaze.

I'm thankful that I have the endurance and can assume a posture that will never allow what you represent to ever be seen as everyday and ordinary.

No, Trump, we will not all just get along. For as long as a threat to the state is the head of state, all citizens of good faith and national fidelity -- and certainly this columnist -- have an absolute obligation to meet you and your agenda with resistance at every turn.

The NYT major outside shareholder is Carlos Slim, a Mexican billionaire who is going to lose billions as Trump implements America First. Im sure he, like many other global elites are not happy.

I hope he as a foriegn elitist wont try to interfere with US poltics.

I'm pretty sure Blow was thinking about Trump, not Slim when writing the piece. I for one say AMEN!

I could be wrong, but I've never heard Carlos Slim attempt to run for president of the US on a platform of hate, lies, and division.

I could be wrong. But Trump's success is not America's success even as president. It means everything we teach children not to do has an immediate rebuttal.

Your hate and anger are strong.

People need to accept the results even if they dont like them. The elites at the Times and in the monied halls of power are upset. Hedgies, tech titans, and billionaires like Carlos Slim, who made their money on slave like wages, are going to fight back.

You really think these guys care about you? That is why they want TPP and Nafta?

I accept that a person (not a man) not worthy of my respect got elected president.

I don't want to be like him. I don't want my kids to be like him. I wouldn't leave my wife alone in the same room with him.

You voted to be someone's subject, not a citizen of the States. Donald Trump thinks you're just another loser. You're going to prove him right.

The Alt Left cannot accept failure because in their worldview it could not happen.

The "alt left"?

You're an idiot.

Alt-Left?

Cute, but no it happened, in our worldview the election of Donald Trump, not failure, shouldn't ever happen because it is terrible for the country and the human race in general.

I'm very comfortable living in that worldview.

This is known as conformation bias, and to have cognitive dissonance to reality.

To know that you do it, is to free you from slavery of propaganda, to be comfortable, is to be an IYI.

We don't have to accept ----. Trump ran on a campaign of hate without a care that his bigoted attacks on Muslims, minorities and women would tear the country apart. Now he can reap the whirlwind.

Your attempts to make Trump look like a champion of the common man against the elite are laughable considering his appointments thus far. Don't kid yourself. Trump is a fat cat creating a government for fat cats, by fat cats and of fat cats. The working whites who elected him are going to get screwed along with the rest of us.

go ahead hotshot explaining to us about NAFTA and TPP... and please discuss specifics not that vague rightwingnut blop da blam stupid the pig brains call "shooting from the hip" or "telling it like it is". Frankly, the oil trade part of the NAFTA agreement was pretty good Canada, Mexico, and the USA... tool a lot of the steam out of OPEC.

Use google and educate yourself.

The Clintons and the elites sold out America to globalism and corporate profits and it worked. Since Nafta corporate profits are thru the roof and Americans incomes are flat...20 years later. Look that up. Now the Hedgies, wall street and Clinton came up with TPP which would be ours except for those brave enough to tell the elites "No More!"

No more making workers compete with slave wages. No more flooding the American market with people who will work for nothing. No more trading jobs for the profits of Goldman. Im glad they are mad.

Yeah, Trump is going to get wages rising. Riiight! He's the guy who told us wages are too high, that a low minimum wage is good for America. He's the guy who stiffs contractors and tells to sue him if they don't like it because he has so many lawyers that the contractors know it would bankrupt them to sue. He's just a crook and he will make you look like a fool before he is done.

Did you hear Carrier is in talks about Indiana plant? Ford canceled planned moved production of a model from USA, Mexico offers to renegotiate NAFTA.

All good things right?

The elites get more frenzied with worry as people begin to see how badly they have been used by the billionairs on Wall Street. No more corporate profits over jobs.

The gig is up!

Trump appears to be taking credit where credit isn't due. The plant that Trump supposedly talked Ford out of closing and moving to Mexico was not going to be closed or moved.

So has Canada.

When one major candidate spends the better part of the past year personally insulting the other candidate and projecting his own faults onto her...no, Mr. Trump, eff you. We will be after you for all your already-happening conflicts of interest, flip-flops, and attempts to ram ultra-wing-nuts into the Cabinet.

No RW poster has had the heart to refute it. Interesting.

I completely agree with rejecting the whole idea of Hair Hitler because of his path to power and his continued abuses of power.
