Drudge Retort: The Other Side of the News
Thursday, November 24, 2016

Drew Magary, GQ: If [President] Obama wants to preserve ANY of his achievements from the past eight years, he's not gonna be able to go chill, the way he may have originally intended. Instead, he's gonna have to work. In fact, Obama's post-presidency may prove even more arduous than his presidency, because in order to bring down Donald Trump, he's going to have to make the ultimate sacrifice ... Barack Obama will have to become friends with Donald Trump.

There are plenty of liberals out there willing to fight the Trump administration publicly: Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, etc. Obama will have to leave those duties to them while performing a far more delicate and exhausting task of his own. We need him to treat Trump like (GUHHHHHHH) an equal. A pal. A bud. Obama will have to eat with him and golf with him (golf helps) and advise him and welcome him to the Presidential club and essentially make him feel like one of the TRUE ELITE folks who -- in Trump's mind -- have always shunned him. And then, once properly ingratiated, he will have to find a way to Jedi mind-trick Trump into not destroying the ------- world.

A foreign power antagonistic to the United States attacks a political organization for months to manipulate a presidential election and you're happy about it.

What the hell happened to Republicans in this country? It's like putting your country first and exhibiting patriotism against a foreign threat are values completely alien to you since the rise of Trump.

If by "attacks a political organization" you mean exposes rigging debates with CNN, trying to submarine a anti establishment US presidental canidate of their own party and lying about it, selling government positions to billionaire and millionaire donors, and exposes total disreagd for US laws to the extent of having maids print out classified documents?

I think people need to know that and CNN sure wasnt gonna fess up.

I expect he means while leaving the other political organization alone.

I dont know. Just cause your guy does it the other guy must also? So that makes the deceit ok in your little world?

Do you have any evidence to support your supposition? The whole establishment. All the money. The Bushes. The Clinton. The Romneys. All the hudge funds working in tandem for their girl. Yet you suppose they just missed all the Trump stuff.....sure.

Dont be mad at the leakers for exposing corruption. Be mad at corruption. Fight the power who has been putting it to the pittle guy. Enbrace trust and openness.

Fortunately this country has checks and balances. Trump is limited as to the amount of damage he can inflict.

It will be nice to see: checks/balances, the Constitution, limited powers, dissent, "obstructionism", filibuster, watch-dog media, federalism, constrained federal government, etc - ALL become cool again.

Most Republicans don't care how they win as long as they win, and it didn't start just now with a Trump "win".

It's a Republican executive and legislative branch.

There won't be any checks and balances.

Let us know when you prove it in a court of law.

We don't prove foreign acts of war in a court of law.

Seventeen U.S. intelligence agencies concluded that Russia was behind the hacks in an attempt to manipulate the election.

If you don't believe that, it's because you are choosing to avoid the truth. Evidence of Russian manipulation is all over the place.

Either that or you're actively supporting Putin like his lapdog Trump.

Russian propaganda effort helped spread ‘fake news' during election, experts say

The flood of "fake news" this election season got support from a sophisticated Russian propaganda campaign that created and spread misleading articles online with the goal of punishing Democrat Hillary Clinton, helping Republican Donald Trump and undermining faith in American democracy, say independent researchers who tracked the operation.

Russia's increasingly sophisticated propaganda machinery -- including thousands of botnets, teams of paid human "trolls," and networks of websites and social-media accounts -- echoed and amplified right-wing sites across the Internet as they portrayed Clinton as a criminal hiding potentially fatal health problems and preparing to hand control of the nation to a shadowy cabal of global financiers. The effort also sought to heighten the appearance of international tensions and promote fear of looming hostilities with nuclear-armed Russia.

Two teams of independent researchers found that the Russians exploited American-made technology platforms to attack U.S. democracy at a particularly vulnerable moment, as an insurgent candidate harnessed a wide range of grievances to claim the White House. The sophistication of the Russian tactics may complicate efforts by Facebook and Google to crack down on "fake news," as they have vowed to do after widespread complaints about the problem.

There is no way to know whether the Russian campaign proved decisive in electing Trump, but researchers portray it as part of a broadly effective strategy of sowing distrust in U.S. democracy and its leaders. The tactics included penetrating the computers of election officials in several states and releasing troves of hacked emails that embarrassed Clinton in the final months of her campaign.

"They want to essentially erode faith in the U.S. government or U.S. government interests," said Clint Watts, a fellow at the Foreign Policy Research Institute who along with two other researchers has tracked Russian propaganda since 2014. "This was their standard mode during the Cold War. The problem is that this was hard to do before social media."

Please keep my name out of your mouth! How could I "forget" something that I freaking printed myself? Is English your second language comrade?

Are you a moron in real life or are you just one of the trolls the article identifies?

Pray-tell how can anyone investigating these incidents ever prove that disinformation definitively caused voters to choose Trump over Clinton? That's right, it's an impossibility, something that can never be proven because no one can possibly know what impacted specific voters and what influenced specific voters to vote as they did. But researchers can provide evidence that false stories were disseminated widely through social media and read by scores of people prior to casting their votes.

Only the smugly ignorant cheerily announce "don't even need to read the article" because they fear learning what they refuse to consider as relevant. The evidence exists regardless if you want to admit it. Now that you've identified yourself as an intentionally close-minded individual, why should anyone pay attention to a single thing that you say?

I'd rather try to tell time by using a stopped clock. At least it's correct twice every 24 hours.

You know what's hilarious about that part? Andrea's lecturing others with this gem:

This is known as conformation bias, and to have cognitive dissonance to reality.
To know that you do it, is to free you from slavery of propaganda, to be comfortable, is to be an IYI.

I'm perfectly 100% A-OK with the DNC getting hacked. I hope they get hacked daily, exposing every minute detail of everything they do behind closed doors. But we need another group to do the same to the RNC. Those scumbags are shaking in their depends wondering when a hacktivist is going to finally crack their system. I'd be willing to donate money to an organization like Anonymous if it was used to this end.

The DNC and CNN never even denied they fed the Clintons questions at debates or let the Clintons edit their articles. Disgusting.

Wikileaks is basically unquestioned in the factual nature of their coveage of the election. I trust wikileaks way more than CNN. CNN Msnbc NYT and others got busted. They are an arm of the elites and Clintons, and helped her against Bernie and Trump in their fight against globalism. Totally busted.

Yeah, the emails were fake, hence the adamant denials from Podesta et al of their truthiness. (lol)

Of course you missed my point, which is that someone needs to do the same to the RNC. You should be getting all of the numerous IT experts on the DR together for just such a venture, right after you fix the closing HTML comment tag at the bottom left of every thread page.
